And he trained Rafi Sahaab with the help of ROMI Script Konknni. Rafi Sahaab also sang MARIA, BOM JESUCHEA CONVENTANT. The Goan Music Legend also had other Leading Bollywood Vocalists singing his other Konknni songs. Thanx KhuramDBG for sharing this video.

  • This is konkani language, which is the official language in the state of Goa... Konkani paul fuddem podo

  • Though I am out of touch for the last 40 years, I still understand some Konkani and I can say that Rafi Sahaab has pronounced the words with musical clarity that's rare.

KAANTAAR KORUN DIS MUJHE SAARTAAM (m proun. as nasal n.) .

I pass my days singing. CHINTUN MOGA NOXIBAAC RODTAAM. Thinking about love I cry for my fate. Rafi Sahaab is great! What pathos, what emotions has he put in his rendition!

  • Guys i have the lyrics of this song

    kalzanttaun mog kelo ,jurament dilo

  • Beautiful Song and superb composition. Words become meaningless as the ambiance of great voice takes over.

  • Nice Goan Konknai song

  • anyone has lyrics for this?

  • This is Konkani (Goan), Rafiji has done a superb job in correct prounciation. Very well job.

  • A singer who used to sing from the depth of his heart..

  • Wow... Listening to Md. Rafi saab first time singing in other language than Hindi. Thank you so m uch Dsouza for sharing this out. :) Very nice song indeed!! :) Thanks a ton again for sharing it out.

  • Rafi Sahaab has sung very beautifully in a very melodious voice. The language is Konkani of the style spoken in Goa. The music is in Cha Cha beats. The song begins: By singing I pass my days, worrying about love I cry for my fate. Then the fast tune: Kalzac .....(song is so beautiful beautiful melodious melodious...... ) I knew a little Konkani some 40 years back but I have now forgotten it since I am out of the circle. Take my word: Nothing to beat this song, the rendition and the voice!

  • Mohammed Rafi Sahib is production of India and there will never be another Mohammed Rafi in India who could replace him. Just like in Pakistan, there is only Mehdi Hassan and no one else. God bless. Khushy 100.

  • this language rings a bell when I heard it, as I was in Goa for 12 years ago. There I could make myself understand in portugees which is very simliar to spain. This song reminds me more of Mexico than Goa, anyway a beautiful song. Khushy 100.

  • dont care what the language is rafi saabs voice is super, fantastic and immortal in any language . thanks for this brilliant upload

  • Dear Khurram,

My friends are praising about your behavior on You Tube and I am holding my head high with a true pride in you. Now my two friends, Ms. Khndeel and Ms. Molecular Rafian's witness is enough to declare that it is Konkani language, in case it is not still you are absolved from the responsibility. We don't have Goa in Pakistan.

  • lolz......... thanks Pashon8Man. I m laughing a lot here on your words..... ...... i have updated the title to this song to 'KONKANI' language.

  • Allah reham kare Khurram! If you ever want to make laugh please don't write Lolz. Punjabi log will misunderstand it.

  • u just made me laugh again.

I am from punjab, and understand your joke. But kya karein..... internet par sab aisa hi bolte hain... toh ussi flow mein likh diya....

Anyways.. aap ke saath conversation mein nahi likhoon ga... bcoz yaad rahey ga... ke aap iss ko "uss" sense mein read karte ho :D

  • This is Konkani language for sure. It is a love song. Boy is telling the girl, I love you with all my heart. I just played this song to Hotel Leela front desk in Goa. Hahahahah

  • Is Konkani enriched by Portuguese words and expressions? I imagine it is, because of the Goa connection, but I am not sure. The music does have a certain Iberian feel to it-- to my ears. At any rate, it is very good.

  • As a matter of fact, I just learned that the Konkani spoken in Goa has much Portuguese influence in it . I doubt it can be quantified, but it doesn't surprise me at all. In other port cities a hybrid English or French also arose. Heard of pidgin English( corruption for "business" English) in Hong Kong , Shanghai, and other Asian ports ?Less common today but often used in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

  • thanks for your nice comments.

still not sure.. either it's spanish or portuguese.... someone suggested me that it's konkani language.. as soon as the language is confirmed, i will update the title.

  • Not just india,I think the world would not be able to produce another Mohd Rafi.He is the one and only.Khurram bhai, this is amazing upload.Iam pretty sure this is Konkani language. Will confirm with a friend who is from Goa.Thanks for sharing this with us.

  • Japan made Lexus, Germany made Mercedes, England made Jaguar. What's the point Pashon? What it has to do with Rafi Saab's Konkani song?

Apparently nothing but nothing doesn't mean nothing at all. World can produce items trough technology but can't produce a genuine artist. India did not produced Rafi Saab, Rafi Saab was born near in undivided India. If India was able to produce, I am sure they have produced an other Gandhi and Pandit J. L. Nehru.

  • Pashon,we would still consider Mohd Rafi saab as India's foremost singer and wealth of the nation.!But i dought if we would want India to produce another Gandhi or Nehru!

  • Very very Nice song by Rafi saab. I feel like I am in Goa, at the beach in Hotel ????? Thanks for sharing. Make it a great day,

    MR

  • Any Way or Any How-

He can sing any song from any part of the World-

    MOHD RAFI ZindaBaad-

    thanx 4 share

  • Beautiful tune, reminds Rafi Saab's song, " Nazar na lag jaaye kisi ke raah mein." I don't know if Rafi Saab is singing in Hispanic (South American or Latin) or he is in actual Spanish language. I tried to pick his words but failed. Anyhow words are not understandable yet good to know the Sain Rafi Saab also sang in Spanish or Lain language. Thank you Khurram dear for uploading and sharing this hidden treasure.

  • Shan, Its beautiful and very rare song. you are right, its not spanish. I am very familar with spanish, because I have alot of spanish friends and I am among them many times while they speak spanish. The only word was spanish when Rafi jee start the song with the word " Canta " means sing or singing, rest could be portugese, since potugese and spanish has alot of words, means the same.

  • Allah aapki umar daraz kare, Sheikh Saab. I was so reluctant to express my views black and white as my friends would think I was trying to impress them by saying, " It is not Spanish language." Now I say it is not Spanish. Spanish pronunciation is quite similar to Arabic accent, since for centuries Spain has been under Muslim dynasty. I am still not sure if it is Portuguese language but I agree with you Spanish and Portuguese are sister language.

  • The south of India, Goa area speaks Portugese and hind in the mean time. And Rafi was popular and loved all over, no matter what language, he sang in almost every language, spoken in India. I am just guessing.

  • Ball park guess, Sheikh Saab. It is quite right that Southern States of India were very attractive to European invaders for the convenience of Seaways transportation and "beach fun" as well. Goa was established by Portuguese and I believe many Goans still can converse in Portuguese language and they could have the enjoyment of Rafi Sahab's voice. It sounds so good when an other person tries in a local language, like that Japanese man who was singing Pankaj Udhas's ghazals.

  • Thanks for the beauty.

  • only he can sing this song. nice one yaar

  • I did not know that Rafi Sahab had a spanish song (I cant make out the language as I have no idea about it, but sounds Indian eastern). Rare and Great.

    Thanks

    Swaminathan

  • swami jee, to be very true, I dont even know a single word of spanish. I am not sure, it even a spanish song. but it sounds like spanish...

I thought I must share it, later someone may correct me. a friend told that it's not spanish but KONKANI language... now i dont even know this konkani language too.. so let's wait and let's people confirm this language...

but whatever is this language.. Rafi sahab is just fabulous in this style of singing.

  • @KhurramDBG: It's Konkani. Kalza is Konkani for heart. "Kalzaa thaun mog kelo" when translated into English is "I loved you from the heart." "Fotkiro mog" means "Fake Love".

  • @KhurramDBG This is a Concani/Konkani song - a Goan language. Goa had/has ties with the Portuguese - former Portuguese colony.

  • @KhurramDBG

Yes Dear... this is konkani language.

  • @swaminathan63

It is Konkani language. I take pride as it is my mother tongue. Regards.

  • @rumahale ------anyone has lyrics for this? konkani is my Mother tongue too....

  • @swaminathan63 this is a konkani number

  • this is a konkani song

  • @swaminathan63 Hi, this is a Konkani song, the mother tongue of Goa. Brings back memories of nearly 40 years old. In those days I felt that the accent was not very right. After all these years looking back on all different accents of the language I can confirm that it is as good as perfect for a person not used to Konkani. The lyrics and music was composed by Chris Perry, one of the greatest Jazz musicians from Goa on India's map. . He died about 5 years back.

  • Wow! Thanks for this Khurram, just goes to prove Rafi's voice is magic in ANY language!

  • yup... just look at the accent. He is fabulous all the way.
