@jennymenuez it looks to me like he cut a slot in the wood the same thickness as a flat bottom bit and then used a hose clamp to tighten the wood around the bit.
I just spent a minute or two replaying looking for that detail myself.
@deaddager - I think you're right - looked the same to me - the hose clamp reinforces the outside of the slot and prevents splitting under the torque. Impressive++. bit a little scary unless you keep the hoseclamp "loose end" short because it sticks out as it spins around (if it's too long)
Hoy abril de 2011 intenté por primera vez esta técnica para redondear una palo... y me resultó a la primera... mis agradecimientos a Noho91. Arriba el trabajo artesanal.
Right, there was a round stick in there already! You can't fool me. just kidding, that is well done. I will remember that for the rest of my life. Two thumbs up.
Really good vid! Does it make any difference using a saw blade or another blade? A blade from a knife for example.

Looks like he used a flatbit and then cut a slot in the wood then to secure it he used a hose clip

@jennymenuez
Looks like a spade bit fit into a slot cut in the wood with a hose clamp clamped around the wood and the outer edge of the spade bit.
WoodInn 2 years ago
i think he just cut a groove into the wood and slotted the spade bit in, then put the clap around it
