Mine did not have the menu at the start, it is just the AR, no media abilities, but it is the Media Edition, at least, that is what its sticker says and its box.

Your ds gets worranty once you buy it and if you break it nintendo will fix it for free and the ds extended worranty last for around 2 years but normal worranty is 90 days
