  • hehe who dislikes tutorials?

  • In the new one I can seem to pop up the same. I try to open the the bitmap thing, but I simply can't find it, could you try to explain or make a vid or something? ;P Or just tell me one. It's Autodesk 3Ds Max 2011

  • was that a goblin from world of warcrafT?

  • so is this 3ds max version 8????

  • The version im using is in the title dude. Also I have mentioned the version several times in the comments and the vid info. 2009...

  • Have you any experience with the PorMaterials that come with 3ds max 2009... btw all of my materials are standard by default.

  • i use max 2009 design that comes with those mats that are loaded in the editor by default. They are quite handy :)

  • I´m just staring to use 3d max studio 2009... and is so difficuld... but it looks like maya 8, as I have maya I know how to use max.... thanks for the video...

  • can i design maps like those in halo3 with this program?

  • You can do pretty much everything in 3dsmax...

  • u can do any kind of 3d its jsut harder using 3ds max i would recomend Terragen which is free or u can buy a better one Vue 7 xStream

  • I'm going to have ti Download this shit do I? grrrrr

  • Hey, does anybody know if it is possible to apply multiple bitmap materials to a single object?

I know you can do it using the the material sub object, but thats not with bitmaps :S

I'm trying to model (to animate) a deck of cards, if anybody has a some good advice for this it would be a HUGE help.

  • You can use a multi sub mat for the object and assign different ID's in the face options.

  • Yeah i've done that, an it adds my material to one side of the object, but when i attempt to add my 2nd material to the opposite side it doesnt work and it clears my other material too :S

I have selected the faces and changed the map ID's to 1 and 2 respectively, and also changed the "explicit map channels" accordingly on the material editor.

    Any ideas?

  • Ahhh, now i understand what your trying to do. You are working with a 1 sided poly ie a 3d object.. But a playing card isnt 2 dimentional, its 3, hence you cant use a 1 sided poly hehe. Use a box but enter a very thin value to it..

  • Nope sadly that's not the case. I am actually working with a chamfer box. :(

I appreciate your help, i guess i'll check in with my tutor 2mo and see if he can help. I'll let u know what the problem was when ive got it. lol

  • i have another problem and would be extremely grateful if you could help

when i add the material to the shape (for example, a leaf onto a box) it streches out the photo, instead of showing it entirely. this has nothing to do with tiling.\

    thanks in advance!

  • If its an editable poly or mesh then add a uvw modifier

  • you can make it defalt size 1 through material editor options

  • Thank you. This helped me.

  • you did it again thanks:p

  • HeHe, did what again ,,?

  • you rocked our worlds with another tutorial :)

  • oh sweet your stuff is in HD now

  • Well, hopefully ill get time to re do all the others in HD and more :)

  • Great job, ill post my progress for sure.

  • Thanks for the update...Oh and plz make an tutorial of HOW to make the character move, cast, attack, defence etc plz :)
