Alesi was one of the most instinctive racers ever...

Salo was no slouch, either. It seems very strange that he would adopt such a wide entry into the hairpin...but then again the 1999 BAR was not an easy car to drive.

Also, looking at the cars trailing Zona & Alesi - well, it's doubtful that a 1999 BAR could ever be racing with a Ferrari for position.

Panis did the same on Irvine in '96, but Irvine refused to budge and got knocked into the barrier. Then in '98 Irvine did the same to Frentzen. You need a big dollop of coorperation from the other driver to get through.

Mika had some pretty weird lines there,.. maybe brakes already which ended his race later, but Salo clearly had some sort of an prob.
