  • isn't it the following car is responsible for overtaking safely?

  • Alesi was one of the most instinctive racers ever...

Salo was no slouch, either. It seems very strange that he would adopt such a wide entry into the hairpin...but then again the 1999 BAR was not an easy car to drive.

  • Idiots. Salo was 1 lap behind and let Alesi pass

  • @antisaarepuu Yes, you must be right. That would explain why Salo took such a wide entry - he was simply moving over!

Also, looking at the cars trailing Zona & Alesi - well, it's doubtful that a 1999 BAR could ever be racing with a Ferrari for position.

  • @altroval JV did it in Spain.

  • I love how Jean just aims his car and demands the BAR to move outta his way!

  • Panis did the same on Irvine in '96, but Irvine refused to budge and got knocked into the barrier. Then in '98 Irvine did the same to Frentzen. You need a big dollop of coorperation from the other driver to get through.

That and PANCAKES! LOTS AND LOTS OF PANCAKES! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • it is mika salo, he replaced Zonta who had broken his leg. Salo drove in San Marino, Monaco and Spain.

  • @Perussaataja And ironically gave the team it's first finish!!.

  • GREAT MOVE

  • Masterwork. Not many succesful overtaking manouvers here.... But you gotta say Salo was quite slow down to the hairpin...

  • @DePalmez

Mika had some pretty weird lines there,.. maybe brakes already which ended his race later, but Salo clearly had some sort of an prob.

  • Forza Jean!

One of the best overtakes there!!!
