  • IMO girl on video, at .15, looks like Casey Anthony

  • IF U ABSOLUTLY LUV THIS SONG THUMBS ME UP (or u dont luv this song and ur not cool)

  • Yeah that's Jean Shrimpton in fur at 1:20. Or at least she has hair like Jeannie Shrimpton back in 1965 / She had legs that never ended I was halfway paralyzed / She was tall and cool and pretty And she dressed as black as coal / If she asked me to I'd murder I would gladly lose my soul / Now I lie in bed and dream of her .. sometimes I even weep than I dream of her behind a wall of sleep.

  • In the pictures of all four they really remind me of the Beatles

  • Twiggy's awesome. She's my idol. She's ultra-thin and speaks out against ultra-thin girls. The Spoonful is my second fav band :)

  • xDD

    nice song

  • I remember hearing this song in the movie, You're A Big Boy Now. I believe that the Lovin Spoonful provided most of the soundtrack.

Thanks for posting this! What a great song---and in stereo!! Nice work on the video portion.

  • awesome song..love goes to the lovin' spoonfull..great band!

  • ya, the spoonful never made a filler song.they were all great in there own way.very diverse.

  • fantastic tune, everyone who thinks it´s just a filler, is a idiot! ;-)

  • Really good. I never understood Twiggy's appeal, but Francoise Hardy is hot.

  • this is groovy and out of sight

  • I remember watching this in the theatre as a 10 year old kid and being effected by the scene with "Darling Be Home Soon." Always thought it was sad the way she treated him. Never forgot the song (play it on guitar now frequently). Btw, I have the VHS of the movie and ordered it online somewhere.

  • Great video! Is that Jean Shrimpton in the fur coat at 1:20? How gorgeous is Francoise Hardy on that magazine cover? Hubba Hubba!

The Spoonful are one of the great American bands. Love 'em.

  • 1) thanks! 2) yes, that is jean shrimpton. 3) i don't know if it's possible to have a bad picture of francoise hardy. 4) i love the spoonful, too!

  • It's because you haven't seen Françoise Hardy in 30 years XD

  • You know, a lot of the funky fabrics are coming back! My 12-year-old daughter (I had her at 40), doesn't believe me! Naturally, she thinks they are cool, but would drop dead if I tried them on! ;)

  • Elisabeth Hartman, who starred in YOU'RE A BIG BOY NOW was an absolute beauty. She was also in a Clint Eastwood film of that era. She had a troubled life and committed suicide, but check out the film this song is from. She's totally radiant in it.

  • Thank you for this information! I wish the movie were readily available. I've never seen it available anywhere.

  • Yeah!! Elizabeth Hartman was smoking hot in the movie!!! She was my only reason for buying it!!! I'm A really big fan of hers!!! The role she played as Barbara is a complete 360 from her role as Selina in "A Patch OF Blue".When I hear "Darling Be Home Soon'',and "Girl,Beautiful Girl", they make me think of her!! Boy,what an actress she was!!!

  • Film was Francis Ford Coppola's Master's Thesis at UCLA. Sebastian's score is EXCELLENT & deserved the Oscar (Listen to Kite Chase on the OST).

Hartman was a sweet delicate girl. FFC wanted her for Kay but she committed to Clint for The Beguiled. The latter reunited her with Gerry Page. Coincidentally they died within days of each other. Gerry was very distraught over Elizabeth's passing. It broke her heart.

  • This is the first time I ever even heard this band! I'm already hooked! These guys are awesome!!

  • I am also pretty new to this band; it's been about 5 months, now- but I got hooked on them right away, too! They're SO great!

  • On his "Tales Of Brave Ulysses" interview, Clapton credits the Spoonful's Sonofsky (guitar) with being a tremendous influence on he and Cream at the time.

  • You mean Zal Yanofsky. Actually, what he said is that they took the musical figure for both "Tales Of Brave Ulysses" and "White Room" from "Summer In The City" written by John's little brother, Mark, John and Steve Boone.

  • Oh yeah!

  • What makes this song rise above the other bubble gum rock songs is it's good that funky rythm (white boy) and it's suggestive (but nice enough for AM radio). You did good. I love seeing those innocent/sexy/no-silly-cone 'sixties gals too!!

  • Great music stands the test of time. This passes with flying colours. Makes me want to get up and groove, cool cats and kitties.

  • just four letters: NICE

  • If you ever want to explain to your kids exactly what "cool" and "groovy" used to signify in the 60s just get them to listen to these guys! My personal favourite LS song is "Younger Girl" - always reminds me of San Francisco... and of blissfully singing along to it with a beautiful girl in a beautiful place at a beautiful time. Happy days!! May they come again!

  • Memories, great memories to a background of fantastic music! Thanks for posting.

  • Excellent! You did a great job!

  • Just saw the Disreali Gears VH1 rehash wherein Clapton said the Spoons influenced that LP and Cream were huge fans of the Spoons. Lennon had their singles on his juke too, I love them so much

  • Anything with the lucious Mrs. Peel gets my nod...

  • BS, you definately have the iMovie program down. Some nice effects there.

  • very nice, big fan of the spoonful

how about doing something with wash her away ( from the discotheque )

  • Another "You're A Big Boy Now" tune!

  • i thought it was great - i love mod 60's stuff!!!

  • I LIKE IT !

  • A nice bit of editing! Thanks bitterspice.
