I had a black lab for fifteen years. He was a real knucklehead. He was an expert at getting out of the yard. Of course, during school time, we always knew to find him at the school. During the summer, we just had to follow the sound of the ice cream truck, and he was there. Great escape artist, not too big on the get away part. He LOVED the snow too.
@apharot Haha sounds all too similar to Lucy. My last dog before her lived till 14. She was a black lab too. It's funny how Lucy has also paid several visits to our old school when she was younger. Funny how similar labs are.
@Sibry I think it's because they are eternally childlike in their minds. They love to play, and so do kids. So when he heard kids, he went toward them. When he heard the ice cream truck, he had associated that with kids, so he followed it. He was a great dog, really. Just not good at getting out of Dodge when he escaped LOL
@SomethingAwfulTV She's a chocolate labrador, they're not exactly known for being agressive dogs. More like wimps haha. So that's not something to boast about lol.
Labs are great. All 3 dogs i've had have been labs. One of each color. Lucy being the chocolate one. They have great personalities. You should get one :)
