I have that exact same phone, screw this guy. Its actually a very good phone (knock on wood) but its got very good messaging, its quite fun to use. Yeah it may feel light, but it's strong. I work in a shop and dropped it twice and it's still perfect. The internet is fast, messaging is even faster. It comes with good and safe apps, such as drive smart. And opening up the keyboard isn't hard at all. I have quite a bit of apps, and it doesnt slow down at all. its worth every penny i spent on it.

He said most of what I was thinking. It's not bad, but it's not a great phone either. I'm blaming it on the T-Mobile branded OS that can make even the best phones suck hard. I can't wait till they start developing ROMs for this phone. Once you get rid of all the crap you don't need, I'm sure this thing'd be great to use for a year or two. But he did make the phone seem like the crappiest phone in real life. You can tell that he doesn't like it. This review does it very little justice.

@taylorb92 TouchWiz is a Samsung UI, not T-Mobile, in fact T-Mobile has no unified interface of their own, they let the manufacturers design it, and only specify what the phone should do before it's shipped to them. I've had 3 different TMo phones from different manufacturers, and each had it's own way of doing things. So far, this phone runs well, even with a stock UI that's more bloated than standard Android. So, make sure you blame the proper people for things like Blur, Sense, and TouchWiz.

@taylorb92 Not talking about the UI. I've had a bunch of T-Mobile phones too, and you're right. They all have their own way of doing things. But I'm talking about all the crap you can't get rid of. TouchWiz isn't my issue. But all of these apps from Amazon to Wifi Calling are things I can't get rid of without voiding the warranty, and they're usually things we don't even use. I'm sure the Gravity straight from Samsung would be much better off, if I could get my hands on it before T-Mobile did.

I got this phone for free because mine finally gave out (thanks to investing in insurance). It does not do HD,3D,4G, and it does not have a front facing camera, but if those are not necessary for you (all those extra features kill the battery anyways)...it is a great device for social networking and keeping up with the news.

@revengeofthedc depends on what ur use preferences are. if your mainly a caller or texter, get the gravity smart. even though the sidekick is a texting phone, only get it if you want other useful features as well, such as video chat and gps. if its only calling n texting,m i prefer gravity smart. btw, i also ran into alot of glitches in the sidekick, its web browsing is pretty slow. but so is the gravity smart's. if you can shell out an extra few bucks, get the mytouch 4g slide its overall great
