  • @vader5001, I disagree. It adds to the plot tremendously. It gives you insight as to why Caiphas wanted Jesus killed. I am glad it was in the film and am happy to see it put into the musical.

  • Annas with black nails! :D

    Metal priest! :D

  • It sucked that they cut this song out of the 2000 movie of JCS. It's one of my favorites. This is an awesome production

  • You guys did awesome here, the instrumentals are really kicking.

  • Fascinating. I've never seen this song performed outside of the 1973 movie. The voices are very good, and the scene is well-blocked out. I love the torches.

  • Never anywhere else.

  • Great version. Very nice.

  • This is an awesome song, originally made for the movie. It does not move the plot, per se. But is a fantastic song none the less. And in the movie version from 1973, it is done in one camera shot, for the most part. And this version here is great.

  • Agreed with previous commenter!

Then we aare decided. Lol Dutch

  • Nice! I'd love to produce JCS, and if I ever do...I want this song in it!

  • Wow. I rarely see this song in live productions. Very good production!

  • Overall a good production...but i have to say it does sound like Arnold S. is singing the role of Caiphas.

  • Nice singing!

  • Great song...i've never heard it but it is beautiful!!!

  • It's great they included this song... I don't understand why they never put it in live productions, it's one of the best songs of ths show. I know this song is not part of the original recording (the same with Could we start again)... anyway, nice video.

  • Because it's not in the origional music.

It'd be a whole separate thing for the rights.

    too much time. =/

  • It sort of disrupts the flow of the show. It's a little redundant if you ask me.

  • @henrysvg Yea it doesnt quite fit, because it was put in at a later stage, but what it does is develop the priests characters past evil religious guys who hate jesus, it gives them a motive. I like it for that reason.

  • Annas acting really annoys (sp?) the hell outta me. He keeps moving his head like a vulture ... it's really ugly

  • Thats the point of his character. Kind of like the little devil that sits on Caiaphas' shoulder.

  • easy man, the comment was not intended for you, you tube just placed the comment below yours

  • was this song in the Broadway production?

  • No, this song was in the 1973 film but it's very rarly in any stage productions.

  • NO! This was originally a british play written by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Weber. the 1973 film was NOT the original!!!

  • It doesn't matter, but just so no one gets on my case, scratch play and replace "rock opera." In any case, it was on stage.

  • The first time this song was in JCS was in the film though, I'm not saying the film was first.

  • WRONG!! the original play didn't include this song. I was specially composed for the film

  • ...that's what I said.

  • oops, misread the original question. My appologies. You're quite right.
