  • They started letting section 8 into my community and the crime rate HAS risen, Hmm wonder why.

  • Public housing projects are centers of crime and failure. They subsidize and perpetuate illegitimate births, unemployment and lack of education. It's time we end this travesty and parasite on productive America. Go to ANY project, you will find a disproportionate number of black residents, young women on welfare with children they cannot provide for, typically with a jobless, uneducated 'baby-daddy' freeloading in the background. This is reality. When do we learn it's not working?

  • It's bullshit , its always been. They only allow subsidized housing in poor areas and never allow minorities to move into upper-scale housing. Dont you dare try to tell me that poors are sucking the economy dry, because its the rich that are doing it. OPEN YOUR EYES AMERICA!!!

  • you are an over educated fool, you dont have a clue of the lives and communities that have been destroyed by section 8 housing, walk through one of those neighborhoods on a hot summer friday night, see what happens to your chicken neck white rear

  • @dwightdouglasgray

so you're basically saying that if the section eight housing were absent, then the impoverished shacks that would have been there would have been completely safe?

I don't think your uneducated mouth has a clue.

  • Does she live in a penthouse on Central Park in NYC? She's completely out of touch with reality. The "spillover" effect of subsidized housing in my neighborhood is drugs, crime, and a significant devaluation of housing prices. She speaks of the 1930's policies which were first introduced to help those in need--It's 2010! Did she get her professorship of public policy and urban development from a cracker jack box?

  • In my neighborhood in Philadelphia, the scattered site housing is completely unrenovated, full of drugs and crime, and drives down equity for everyone who owns a house here. The PHA houses to add insult to injury pay NO property taxes, so they cost the most and contribute the least. Frankly, this researcher did some very selective sampling to come to this conclusion. It's not science.
