@johntuggle hi john, sorry to bother you but i want to ask somthing, i want to play electric slide like u and delta blues, i am thinking of buying a resonator which the shop will put a specially designed humbucker close to the neck, have this means i can play electric and acoustic, but i want to know if i can still play in the DT and duane allman style on this, becasue its an resonator and plays different to and sg for example, will it hinder me playing like this?? thankyou. tom from uk
@tom27j I would recommend getting a resonator and an electric if you want to play both styles. You also won't be able to access the very high frets unless you get a cutaway and still it won't be like an SG. It just won't sound like an SG or any electric in my opinion. On an SG the body connects to the neck at the 22nd fret which makes access to high notes very easy. Hope that helps.
@johntuggle thankyou very much john, very helpful advice, and thanks for getting back to me so quickly, i am sure you get hundreds of messages every day, so thanks, well in that case i think its an sg for me, just cant beat that soulful electric playing. thankyou.
just got the same guitar. Learning to play the resonator is slightly challenging but there is so much more room for personality it seems. Beautiful recording.
sounds awesome man, im in the process of buying a resonator but im not very experienced in that area. i've been playing for about eight years and just in the last year started playing a lot of blues and slide. what do you recomend?
hope you've got my own videoclip, I made it in standard tune 'cause didn't found the picks for the right hand, it's a pity the song would have sound more groovy, hope you like it, same Claudio same part of land
Hi John, one question/help: can you suggest some on-line store where I can buy thumb and index finger-pick 'cause they don't sell it here in Italy ...........good demo, Claudio from Poirino (out in the north of country)
Wow John that was beautiful. Great sounding dobro, very tasty playing. The beginning sounded alittle like a part of the Stones "Loving Cup", just that short slide part. Take care and have a good new year.
@johntuggle Yeah dude, no problem. Try one out sometime, it helped my regular slide playing technique for whatever reason after playing on my lap for a good while. Keep the videos coming!
Come and go blues ,nice , been looking for that, great sound dude

Is the only difference between the square and round neck that you cannot fret/play the square neck like a normal guitar?

@AlphaJoseff The Paul Beard Resonator has an amazing sound. Better than all I have tried under $1000.
