The reason the camera is on jelly fish woman (julia Polia from austria) is because her Dad is' World Masters'. They hit the final because of polotics not dance. She's a lovely girl though.

So whats the reason the Swiss couple(the female has on a hot pink dress@3:52)made it to the final. Seriously, just a yr ago they weren't making the finals in the amateur competitions.

The reason being this isnt the best in the world! The world masters is just the name of the comp but it dusnt mean alot really! It's strange how in this comp you get a weird final for example the 2 russians and the austrians are totally ahead of the other 3 but i have 2 say the order in the placings was right!

The reason the swiss couple are noe breaking through in pro because it is so much easier to succeed in pro. Sounds stupis but its true. I'v turned Pro myself cos ametuer is just a bunch of politics.

Don't think you're safe from politics in professional. It doesn't get much better there, but at least the IDSF judges can't judge those competition. I remember we had this professor of meterologic judging in one of our competitions who had not actively participated in ballroomdancing for a decade. His place on the judging panel was purely based on politics. Or can all IDSF licensed judges judge professional competitions?

I know your comment is from four months ago, but nowadays the standard in professional has grown exponentially. Previous amateur champions don't even make it into finals anymore (Dmitri Timokhin, granted he has a new partner). The standard in the International Champs was crazy.

Elena has improved, however, her movement is still a bit stiff and robotic. Slavik seems to still eat her up on the dance floor. I think she's got a lot of hype due to her beauty and most of all, her dance partner, Slavik. Karina and Slavik were the ultimate couple and like many of their fans, I wish they were still together.

Karina is great... goes without saying. But I think Elena and Slavik have alot working for them. I think as a pair, Elena and Slavik create better lines, while Karina created better movement. Personally, I thik Slavik and Elena look better than Karina and Dmitri. It'll be interesting if they ever go head to head!

I wish that Slavik would continue his partnership with Karina. Elena's dancing is just not up to par when compared to Karina. It's not even just a matter of stylistic difference but technically and artistically, Karina surpasses Elena by a million miles.

True they have had a strong start. Personally I never liked Elena, even when she was with Sergey. Always loved Slavik (who doesn't)I think Elenas' dancing is too coreographed and robotic. But what do I know I'm not a professional. And Michael and Joanna are out of this world I agree. I can't wait to see both pairs go head on. Do Michael and Joanna still have their own Plane?

however, slavik and elena are usually the runner ups to Carmen and Byran, joanna and micheal are soooo pleasing to watch but for some reason thy usually come in 3rd and sometimes 4th to the top pro couples.

I like Slavik and Elena more and more each time I see them. They haven't been together long and it will take a while and a bit of experimenting for them to completely click together, but they've had a strong start. They're both fantastic dancers and I wish them lots of luck for this year. Will be interesting to see them battle with Michael and Joanna, but will be torn as I love both pairs.
