Because every GM motor is fucking huge in comparison. Better is a terrible word to use. Take, for example, the new 5.0....the technology and ingenuity is much better than the LS3 6.2 that is in the rival Camaro, but because the 6.2 is bigger, it produces more hp.
@gif4445 i think better is a perfect word to use. considering that GM makes more power using older technology in their motors. ford has smaller displacement OHC motors and Gm has higher displacement pushrod motors. so ford is using NEW technology but fails to make more power stock.
@gif4445 and for the record it took ford way too long to switch to aluminum block in there performance stangs. and its a fact that it costs more $ to mod fords. its much cheaper (and hell, smarter) to mod Gm vehicles.

I think the point is that when one thinks of great GM motors, immediately it goes to the LS series motors that started out going towards the Corvette's. Ford does not have that.

I'm just not a ford guy. The mustang has been overrated for so long. I love the fact that Chevy has almost always offered two sports models. The Mustang has always been a, what you see is what you get-type of vehicle and Chevy has always gone out of the way to make a sexyer ride, and has taken one basic body style (in particular) and kept true to it since the 80's.

@Sickassfords Sorry, camirocz is right. Unless you highly mod a terminator a stock C6 Z06 will leave it like its standing still. With engine mods alone, not including traction, it will take a 625-650hp at the crank (550-575ish at the wheels) of a terminator to keep pace with a stock C6 Z06.

FORD S/C the cobra and the Ford GT in order to keep up with Vettes. Everyone knows that. Cobras lean out on last piston too, and blow up soon.

From the factory a cobra will beat a gto. Dump 4 grand in each car and the cobra will beat it by even more. I love both cars but I think the Cobra has an edge over the goat

The ZR1 has magnetic ride control. So yes, it is adjustable. The ACR did NOT hit 2g, it hit 1.5. Which is still impressive, but comparing it to the ZR1, it's not much considering the tires and weight advantages the Viper has over the ZR1. Not including of course, the full 2 liters the Viper has over the Vette.
that cobra was smokin the tires at the 1000' mark!!!! better sticky tires would have helped. 26 psi is a TON of boost, my cobra would be starving for fuel with that much. congrats to that vette, kinda figured that would be the outcome
The z06 has been proving and tested to beat GT500, Lamborghini, and Porsche. Proof is in the videos. The zr1 is on a different level, FordGT, and GT500 cannot even keep up with the ZR1, check out the videos.
Don't really understand how you can compare two track car's in a quarter mile...they are track cars. The acr viper destroyed the zr1 in track runs (by 4 seconds at Nürburgring)...and as of the strip times...I don't really see there being that much of a difference in 1/4 mile times as the zr1 puts down 550rwhp and the acr 546rwhp with 10rwtq more than the zr1 at 510rwtq. But nevertheless, these cars weren't made for the drag strip, so in comparing the two track cars, the viper wins hands down.
@contagious6969 The ACR Viper and the ZR1 are not comparable cars. The ACR has a racing wing for much more down force, and street legal track tires, which both allow the ACR to hit 2.0G's. The ZR1 has a little no nothing lip on it's rear and run on flat tires.. The ZR1 can only hit 1.1G's. The ACR is head and heals above the ZR1 but yet it can only muster out a 4 second fast lap time on a 12 mile track. That's not where near impressive.
I'm sorry that you are still bitching with a 335 in the rear with the stickness of a ps2. The ACR costs about the same, and it's in the same league as the zr1. I mean the zr1 has ceramic brakes (racing brakes that the acr doesn't have), vents for cooling, full rear spoiler, puts out more hp, weighs less than the ACR, etc. The zr1 is a bred racing car. If you don't consider 4 seconds that impressive then you obviously don't race car if you can't see how impressive dodges win really is.

Z06's Power to weight ratio is better than any car under 150k at least in 06 it was. SVT's r pretty heavy at 3,700lbs + - depending on gas, and etc in comparison to a Z06 at 3,175. Not to mention the Cobra was a AT, & the Z06 had a MT. In cars like this a MT have the advantage Down the track, if u know how to drive. AT are typically better for getting off the line. Both cars seemed crazy fast though! nice vid, and race.

@Sickassfords Sorry, camirocz is right. Unless you highly mod a terminator a stock C6 Z06 will leave it like its standing still. With engine mods alone, not including traction, it will take a 625-650hp at the crank (550-575ish at the wheels) of a terminator to keep pace with a stock C6 Z06.

Chevy parts cost less actually. first of all the cobra is a 4v so work is way harder and heads r more expensive. the vette is a pushrod motor so its a single cam. heads and cam on a Z06 is enough to take that car. if not a $500 nitrous kit will help. instead of supercharging it. anyways u got it all wrong. FORD S/C the cobra and the Ford GT in order to keep up with Vettes. Everyone knows that. Cobras lean out on last piston too, and blow up soon.

@timtat16 Coming from a GM car guy that is highly unlikey. The iron block 4.6 in the cobra takes too well to mods for even the ls2 gto which is the biggest engine the gto came with. From the factory a cobra will beat a gto. Dump 4 grand in each car and the cobra will beat it by even more. I love both cars but I think the Cobra has an edge over the goat

The ZR1 has magnetic ride control. So yes, it is adjustable. The ACR did NOT hit 2g, it hit 1.5. Which is still impressive, but comparing it to the ZR1, it's not much considering the tires and weight advantages the Viper has over the ZR1. Not including of course, the full 2 liters the Viper has over the Vette.
Like you said, you really can't compare the two.

The z06 has been proving and tested to beat GT500, Lamborghini, and Porsche. Proof is in the videos. The zr1 is on a different level, FordGT, and GT500 cannot even keep up with the ZR1, check out the videos.

Don't really understand how you can compare two track car's in a quarter mile...they are track cars. The acr viper destroyed the zr1 in track runs (by 4 seconds at Nürburgring)...and as of the strip times...I don't really see there being that much of a difference in 1/4 mile times as the zr1 puts down 550rwhp and the acr 546rwhp with 10rwtq more than the zr1 at 510rwtq. But nevertheless, these cars weren't made for the drag strip, so in comparing the two track cars, the viper wins hands down.

@contagious6969 The ACR Viper and the ZR1 are not comparable cars. The ACR has a racing wing for much more down force, and street legal track tires, which both allow the ACR to hit 2.0G's. The ZR1 has a little no nothing lip on it's rear and run on flat tires.. The ZR1 can only hit 1.1G's. The ACR is head and heals above the ZR1 but yet it can only muster out a 4 second fast lap time on a 12 mile track. That's not where near impressive.

I'm sorry that you are still bitching with a 335 in the rear with the stickness of a ps2. The ACR costs about the same, and it's in the same league as the zr1. I mean the zr1 has ceramic brakes (racing brakes that the acr doesn't have), vents for cooling, full rear spoiler, puts out more hp, weighs less than the ACR, etc. The zr1 is a bred racing car. If you don't consider 4 seconds that impressive then you obviously don't race car if you can't see how impressive dodges win really is.

The ACR had a race driver driving it while the ZR1 had one of chevys engineers driving it. Also Those 245's on the ACR make a big difference. Not only are they barely street legal each tire has 10mm more rubber on the ground. The ACR has vents for cooling also. The ACR also has suspension that can be lowered and springs that can be changed. The ZR1 has none of this. ACR is way

Z06's Power to weight ratio is better than any car under 150k at least in 06 it was. SVT's r pretty heavy at 3,700lbs + - depending on gas, and etc in comparison to a Z06 at 3,175. Not to mention the Cobra was a AT, & the Z06 had a MT. In cars like this a MT have the advantage Down the track, if u know how to drive. AT are typically better for getting off the line. Both cars seemed crazy fast though! nice vid, and race.

There are tons of twin turbo cobras making over 720 rwhp, are you serious? hellion makes a kit that makes 1000rwhp, thiwn turbo while leaving the stock blower on,it's called a compound boost setup, it's called the hellraiser kit.and the cobra in the video would have won if it had better tires, he smokes the tires all the way through 1st, just watch the smoke behind him as he goes down the track.

I ment to say that cobra. i am around 03-04 cobras alot, i know a guy that has one so i know what they can do.i ment that cobra is anywhere from 680 to 720 rwhp or more with that kenne bell, it all depends on what size pully he has. sorry for the missunderstandment
