There is no evidence of etnical cleansing commited by the Georgians. There is no such a thing as citizen of South Osetia. The war did not start out of the blue on August 8th and there were reasons for Gerogian attack. And in any case Russia had no business intervening in Georgia's interior affairs.
What about the Russian peacekeepers, you missed that one. Accoding to you Russia was supposed to stand by and let them all die and then continue waching and the Georgians high on narcotics proceeded to wipe out the population of South Osetia? You sound like a real kind human being, if you are one.

As to the Russian peacekeepers, yes, Russia has right to defend its peacekeeprs. The question is were they real peacekeeprs or they participated on Osetian side? So far I have heard only Russian side of the story. I would like to hear what the Georgians say about peacekeepers.

Today CNN is reporting that Russian diplomats said months ago that Russia would respond to US/NATO actions in Kosovo...they also implied the response would be in Georgia.
Russia fomented the dissent in Ossetia which caused Georgian security forces to respond. Russia then invaded on the pretext of protecting Russians.

There is no evidence of etnical cleansing commited by the Georgians. There is no such a thing as citizen of South Osetia. The war did not start out of the blue on August 8th and there were reasons for Gerogian attack. And in any case Russia had no business intervening in Georgia's interior affairs.

As to the Russian peacekeepers, yes, Russia has right to defend its peacekeeprs. The question is were they real peacekeeprs or they participated on Osetian side? So far I have heard only Russian side of the story. I would like to hear what the Georgians say about peacekeepers.

Why are there South and North Osetia? Why Georgia wants only the South one? Was Abkhasia it also wants ever a Georgian land, how about Ossetia? Georgia only has an oil pipeline running through it. Azerbaydjan uses it, not RUssia. Russia has it's own enormous network of pipelines, the one in Georgia bypasses Russia on purpose to avoid paying fees to it. Today CNN is reporting that Russian diplomats said months ago that Russia would respond to US/NATO actions in Kosovo...they also implied the response would be in Georgia.
Russia fomented the dissent in Ossetia which caused Georgian security forces to respond. Russia then invaded on the pretext of protecting Russians.

Krymean peninsula in question here was always Russian, Kruschev gave it to Ukrain during Soviet Era without processing paperwork properly so technically, it is Russian, especially now the USSR is no more why keep it with a hostile country. Read the history. Osetia and Abkhasia were part of Russia before the Revolution and never a part of Georgia from what I gather. Kiev Rus at one point was all there was here, but, on fiercly nationalist - only the West Ukraineans which fough along the side with Germans in WWII and not real Ukraineans. Interesting to note that even the language differs. It was my understanding the the Ukrainians who fought along side the Nazis did so hoping for an independant Ukrainian state. When they realized that wouldn't happen, they formed partisan groups who then, with other Ukrainians, fought the Nazis and the Soviets in a bloody war which lasted 3 years after the Nazis were defeated. I used to be on georgian side during the first days. But now I think that it is true that the first aggression was commited by georgians themselves. Rocket bombardment during first night, multiple reports and aftermath videos of how the georgians attacked the SO capital without mercy.
