  • i miss working there 2159 s6 FTW

  • old lsa anaconda... we use to call that place mortaritaville

  • @crownandsprite407 I was there in 2003-2004 and you are right that place was always getting mortared.

  • At 28 seconds, you see the Mortar! LIKE if you see it! :D

  • had em about that close and closer a cpl times at liberty back in 05-06, usually 82's. Gets your attention for sure. That incoming alarm is pretty cool, even if nobody apparently listens to it..lol we barely got sirens, even after they started falling. Never lasted too long though, nice thing about having apaches close by.

  • It's like standing outside to watch the tornado.

  • dumbasses, like seriously, take cover? how stupid do you have to be? well i guess being a fobit explains alot here.

  • @1jllt Dude, chill. You get used to it with the numerous false alarms.

  • ahhhhh.... good soothing sound of"incoming incoming incoming' i mean seriously, it's indirect fire. why bother taking cover. i missed Bald, Mosul, Aramadi, etc.... :(

  • Did anyone determine how close that one was?

  • huh... yeah, in 05-06 when i was there that ment you had had between 5-10sec to kiss your ass good bye...

  • @djdanb Looks like you made it home safe... quit your pissing contest.

  • In my time at Balad i never actually saw a building get hit, a mortar landed on the other side of the concrete barrier from where I work and blew scrapnell all over the place, but a porta potty would almost always take a mortar to the dome, they got mortar magnets in them

  • @atcdtb glad your safe man i hope your not still over there but if you are stay safe

  • @bloodysword100 23 days left!

  • @atcdtb man i bet your just counting down the days, make it home safe to your friends and family man

  • Befor the attack on our safe house we ran a couple KBR big wigs up too Balad when the PX got hit with a rocket killing I think five people if I recall right.

  • I fucking hate inderect fire because it always seem to find me,lol!

  • You fuking idiot you're lucky you didnt DIE.

  • pussies ass pogs

  • Right around 0:46 you san see in the upper right of the screen, a white dot, and impacting just to the right of the cameras field of view.

  • NO SHIT ASSHOLE TAKE COVER

  • Once you have been there for a while, you really start to not care about mortar attacks.

  • " That was pretty CLOSE " ; it's about to get a LOT CLOSER . INCOMING, INCOMING...can it get any CLEARER then THAT IDIOT ???!!!

  • June 22nd. 2007

  • June 22nd. 2007

  • Yeah, laugh it off DUMB-ASS, OH, "We're under ATTACK; Like SERIOUSLY take COVER " ??? No, LIKE walk outside and see if you can "Like" CATCH ONE..dumb-bitch...yup, THIS is a WAR Barbie. Welcome to BALAD.

  • woww that one round was really close

  • That was incomming, if you slow it down and pause it right before the boom you actually see it... I was on the airfield when this happened 1/108 D Co. OIF 06-08... That day there was a couple that hit the airfield and motor pool. That day 3 from my battalion got hit. Damn hijis did it everyday. Use to set the tubes off with bags of ice, once it melted off it went... Got video from a couple off apaches that our brigade sent out lighting them bastards up...

  • sounds like a little kid. hmm

  • Easter of 2004 on Anaconda wasn't much fun then either. We took on small arms fire, rockets, and the Army threw in it's usual mayhem.

  • I was there that day. That mortar hit 3 meters from where I was standing. Good thing there was a concrete barrier, shock wave concusion and a headache for a few days. Could have been a whole lot worse. 3 people were seriously injured in that attack.

  • Who ever you are, cessna70394, I used to be in that Battalion, EAGLE ATTACK, I was in the 3/5 Platoon in Echo Co. . In your video, that bench was my old Co. area. . .

  • There was a bunker 1 meter away. Some sorry trex driver placed the t walls for you to seek shelter in a shrapnel house. Without any accountability of course.

  • :27 Oh all is fine

    :28 OH FUCK

  • It's ok, that's bullet-proof plywood they're hiding behind.

  • WHAT A FUCKING DUMB MOTHER FUCKER YOU BEST BE FUCKING GLAD THAT SHIT DIDNT HIT YOU FUCKING DUMBASS I THINK THATS WHY WE TELL YOU HERE THE ALERT HIT THE DIRT!!!!!! wow complacency at it's best fucking retard

  • quick, duck behind your pc!

  • I was just there this last summer, we got so use to mortar attacks, especially during the beginning of "New Dawn" the peaceful time when they attacked us 4x as much...

  • Couple of military geniuses in this video.

  • Complacency at its best. Please don't tell me they handed out CAB's for that.

  • "We're Under Attack Still "....genus...CLOSE ?; you're lucky you have that BLAST WALL you IDIOT..

  • you can actually see the mortar coming in at 29 seconds! Cool video I wish I would of had a video camera in 2003 when I was there.

  • You can always tell the new guys from the ones who been there a while in LSAA.

  • WTF I still remember my first close call with a mortar at LSAA. After the first it was like fuck it. Never ran for cover again

  • FOBBITS FORWARD!!!! POUGES!!!

  • i like how she asked " should we get to cover hahah no matter what mos incoming is scary shit

  • and as an update Balad is an Airbase/ LSA Anaconda

  • you cant handle the stress of the infantry pussy

  • @0Avey7 Its not called LSA Anaconda anymore. Its officially named Joint Base Balad. We still call it anaconda though.

  • Hahahhah thats are HQ now

  • @Beards88 hahaha damn you are a funny fobbit i have videos to show what i do what do you have.....o and by the way im SF in the USAF.... calling out a fobbit hahaha again guard those gates pussy if your going to talk bad have something to back yourself up with lol

  • " Like SERIOUSLY Take Cover " ?; DrrrF: Phuking Dolts. No, go out and see if you can CATCH ONE. Dumb-Azzes. I was there in Nov, 08. One came RIGHT THROUGH the roof of the building I was in (shouldn't say WHERE), LUCKILY, it didn't explode. The C-Ram did it's job, and BLEW the FUZE off it! No, don't BOTHER " Taking Cover", just laugh it all off.

  • balad is for pussies...you fucking fobbit..

  • I spent time at the FOBs. I prefer Balad, pussy or not.

  • if it has a PX or a green bean, or MWR it dont count

  • I went where they sent me.

  • Thank you for your service. We can leave it right there.

  • @notimeforcash hahahaha Fobbits i watched your videos all your videos are of you on guard at gate you are a FOBBIT what a bitch move A fobbit is someone that doesnt go outside the wire and YES guarding the gate still makes you a fobbit whats worse is you are an ARMY FOBBIT!!!! lol

  • your funny consdering the fact that if i did bring my camera outside the wire my NCO would have smoked my ass for days im smart i never brought my camera outside the wire the only time i did was when we went to Omni and i learned my lesson so know your shit before you talk Devil Douche your probably some fucking dirty ass leg or a POG more then likely both though

  • @notimeforcash wow your cool you can make up stories hmmmmmm just like fobbits do," O yeah they wouldnt let me take my camera blah blah blah." and haveing a camera at the gates your NCO wouldnt smoke you dude tell truth your a fobbit there's nothing against haveing a camera outside the wire. FOBBIT stop telling stories get a video for me to believe and not one of your friends video.....but hey thanks for keeping the gates safe

  • Amen to that. It is scary as anything to be out walking and here the alarm. Where's the bunker! Thank goodness the Navy was on the job.

  • Time to head for the DFAC!

  • Good times at Anaconda!!!! Oh yeah!!!! Fire up the C-Rams!!!!

  • oh cool mortars lol we never see anything like this from my desk job... OH SHIT one just landed half a mile away quickly take cover in this plywood building...

  • what is a Motar? dont think im stupid im 13

  • @XJaminxxAkaxxSmurfX .... your stupid.... in short... a bomb

  • fuckin intelligent!!! lets move inside a soft skin building and think we are safe!!! how about you hit the deck and take cover you bunch of fuckin pogues!!!

  • @muggers83 Relax, Francis...

  • you stupid fucks take cover ya think you know what your taught and yes i was there

  • This brings back memories. That alarm really scares the shit out of you when you're asleep. All you can do is hope it doesn't hit you.

  • Eventually it becomes a joke because they never really hit anything unless they are lucky. Hell half the time they just leave the mortar tubes on timers in the general direction of a fob so that when QRF went to look for them they would find nothing.

  • Good times. Luckily the idiots who fire them cannot aim. I remember almost every time a new group of soldiers would hit ground their idiots commanders would have them follow some stupid sop. Hey everyone we just got mortared so lets have a mass formation for accountability, or the idiots who make the soldiers go out to look for duds.

  • Smart

  • let me guess you guys got CABs for this? bahaha

  • I felt the same as the person filming LOL. You are wanting to document it and then BOOM.. " Check self and buddys and move out to cover" haha

  • You guys Airborne?

  • far as i understand it, the alarms go off in sectors and those sectors get the announcement....note you didnt' hear the alarm go off for the one's that didn't hit close.. I understand the complacency but the alert systems are there for a reason.

  • wow, I remember those days...

  • man i'm from israel and every day is like that

  • I like how they ont listen to the alarm, and don't take cover until they almost get hit!

If it we're me I would be in a bunker as soon as I heard that Alarm!

If you don't listen to the alarm whats the point?

  • you get used to it man

  • @NarcoAlpha Yeah, when I got woken up once by six mortars near where I was sleeping one night during my first week and it woke me up. I pretty much didn't care anymore, well when I was sleeping anyways

  • You don't normally take cover right away because the idiot hadjis behind the mortars can't hit the broad side of a barn. You might run for the bunkers the first few weeks in theater, then you start ignoring alarms and turning the TV up louder.

Every once in awhile the hadjis get lucky and land one inside the wire, which is what you saw here. Then you run for the bunkers again.

  • Yep, only had one time where it was that close like this.

  • Comment removed

  • take cover doesnt mean going back outside

  • There are bunkers outside that offer better protection and in the last few seconds that is what they are referring to.

  • I see :]

  • Watching the video again you see the bunker at :29. and again at :02.

It is that white thing with the wall covering the opening.

  • Gotta love the incoming siren

Balad, AEF3/4 Sept 06 to thru Jan 07.

    Go REDTAILS!!!!!!!

  • I loved the unannounced "controlled dets" out in the middle of the runway. Some of those would knock you right out of bed.

  • been there done that before airforce got there

    ARMY all the way

    Balad 03-04

    hhc 2-228th avn reg

  • that happened back in 07 around the 18th or 22nd of june. I remember we got hit on both those days. On the 18th it hit by catfish air and on the 22nd it was by the tmc

  • That was definately an incoming hit, not outgoing fire. The outgoing from our mortars and 105's has a distinct sound. Ah, that incoming alarm brings back memories...

  • OMG!!! that the exact same shop i worked in last year LMAO i live in that room for 15 months!!!

  • Ok, that was a fire back that is why it was heard so loud. For every mortar attack, we shoot five back, just to make sure we hit those bastards. And believe me some of those alibabas even had coordinates, that's why they hit the PX or DFAC.

  • @juako75 some of those bastards fire with the tubes in the bed of a truck and drive off after 2 or 3 rounds.

  • @Jesse9063 When i was there in 05'-06, we had six o'clock haji who used to fire mortars at us from a boat in the tigris river...on certain days at 0600, he would let off about 2 or 3 rounds and then take off.

  • they dont even aim if they hit something its pure luck i was there for a year almost everyday they would try something only new about one person getting hit

  • You know the procedures for alarm red and you laugh at the AF when they do get down on the ground..but who is laughing when you're people get hit?! its sum bullshit but great vid btw.

  • been there done that....

  • That wasnt a alarm red, trust me, I was there on the airfield within 100m when they hit

  • lol funny how they say to use those reinforced covers during a red alerts but nobody uses them. OIF 07-08
