If Elton John had released just one of his covers, Nick would be alive today. Alternatively, if Nick actually did make TV themes and got paid, he'd still be alive today (maybe). I prefer to blame Elton though lol
I think the impersonation is as close as one could get - it's intended to be a bit tongue in cheek. Never mind the negative votes - you didn't Bungle it.
This is excellent!! This is why Youtube was invented - not for watching drunk people filming themselves. I'd love to see sinilar kind of parodies for other tv shows!
Most of the songs on Rainbow were written and performed by one Matthew Corbett, as 1/3 of Rod, Jane & Matthew. He left and was replaced in the trio by Roger, who was in turn replaced by Freddy in the early '80s.
Matthew Corbett went on of course to inherit 'The Sooty Show' from father Harry.
@boo66 Matthew C was only on the show a year or two. Before him (and the then-divorcing Rod & Jane) was another trio (Karl, Julian & Charmaine) and the first couple of series saw a six-piece group Tell Tale (including Hugh Fraser, aka 'astings from Inspector Poriorit, Pioriot, that funny little Belgian detective).
Up above the streets and houses, rainbow climbing high, everyone can see it smiling, over the sky, paint the whole world with a rainbow, rainbow, all along the streets and the rivers, shining through the lakes, see the colours of the rainbow, as the morning breaks, paint the whole world with a rainbow. Now if he'd sung the whole version he could have got a single out of it.
WHAT IN THE NAME OF BUNGLE BUGGERY WAS THAT?......only joking. nice but i prefer the drummed up original version. doo doo do do do doo doo dooo do do doo do doooooo....CLASSIC!
I'm sorry, but I had to laugh at that. I think this is brilliant. Sounds kinda like Hazey Jane. And I think Nick would have laughed at this. I LOVE Nick... he's one of my all time heroes.
This is brilliant. The work that's gone into recreating the titles (with depressed character at window!) and even the Thames ident is fantastic. Well done.
I think it's a vert vallient effort and a huge compliment to Nick Drake. OK, so it doesn't sound 100% authentic, but there again Les Dennis's Mavis Riley was hardly convincing was it and that got laughs. I think it's a beautifully melancholic representation of an otherwise fairly optimistic tune!
Great ! I love the fact the person opening the window, instead of being happy and waving with a big smile like usual, he's a bit depressed and just leans on the windowsil !
Lovely stuff although Rainbow didn't start until 1972 and they didn't use those type of titles for a couple of years after the launch of the programme :o) But lovely video anyway.
I was really impressed by this! I love Nick Drake music, loved that show as a kid, and this was a very clever and well made parody of both - convincing and entertaining! Good job!
I love originality and consider myself a professional originaltyist. So I'm pleased to announce that this clip is extremely original and a breath of fresh air in an otherwise dull world. Well done!!
