@yoohoo909 the riders in this film are real stockmen. Gerald Egan was the man who rode the descent....a jockey and horseman...a legend. The mountain men were the Lovick brothers.....again legends in the region and true horsemen and mountain men. I was very honoured to know them and ride with them RIP Charlie x

I just watched 'the Descent' scene again and am amazed at the quality of Equestrians and stuntmen that made this movie.

They (Including Burlinson) are riding full bore ina way I have never seen in any other movie. Another thing is that the main characters look more 'real',down to earth, and distinctive. (Mr. Douglas included) Great casting!
