  • Chicago is the most under surveillance city in the US. been like that for a while. those cameras are nothing new. there's also the red-light cameras, cameras on the buses, on all the 'L' stations and will be on all of the 'L's real soon. I'm used to it. I hate the ones with the flashing blue light, though.

  • in chicago the cameras have flashin blue lights which are super annoying

  • The best and cheapest way to reduce crime is to let law-abiding citizens carry guns to defend themselves, as most states do. Cameras do nothing but invade your privacy.

  • ACLU is a part of the problem. A personal right should not trump the collective rights of others. If a person's privacy right is violated to save dozens of lives; it is honorable. If the privacy issue does not affect other it should be protected.

  • urban crime is a form of terrorism!...rapists beware!

  • its to photograph all the multy-kulty diversity that all the pinko leftists want to celebrate!

  • there are 11 million people in chicago...terrorists with a soccer ball sized suitcase nuke can kill them in one afternoon!...the police must have a system in place to at least try to catch terrorists!.../ @ milwaukee

  • insane......

  • to protect us from terrorism? give me a break! 9/11 was an inside job! smash these cameras!!!

  • nanny state USA

  • wow take these cameras off

  • Ever been to London!

    This is nothing compared....

Not true, the government can film anything, anyone on public property. You walk on the street you can legally be on tape. Its the governments right to film you in public, and you can't do anything about it, and if you think you can, well good luck.

A look at things to come in every major city. It'll look like London in about 5 yrs.

    Take her easy....

  • Big Brother is watching.

Facial biometric data can identify you as you walk the street, and link you with your govt records. This yields a digital record of your comings and goings. Your cell phone also leaves a record of which cell towers you are close to, that can be used to triangulate your position to a few meters. These records are available to police, sometimes without a warrant, as required by the 4th amendment.

Wear ear-muffs, shades and a hat. Pull the battery out of your phone.

  • To be honest this stuff scares the crap out of me!

  • Whatever you may think about Chicago, it's always been very pragmatic with regards to law enforcement. After all, it was Democrat Mayor Daley that busted libtard skull at the 1968 Democratic Convention.

  • FUCK YOU BIG BROTHER

  • Chicago is a great place to get murdered on camera!

  • this shit isn't to fight 'terrorist', it's for us when we realize that the economy is never going to 'turn around', it's only going to get worse and worse because WE'RE BEING RAPED. if this isn't a police state, you tell me what is?

  • FUCK YOU ACLU !

  • BB is here, no matter what fucking excuses they say.

  • @tomasgdvlss Exactly what I'm thinking!!

  • 45 people were shot and at least 8 murdered just last week in Chicago.

Those cameras must be working great, eh?

Cameras are everywhere these days but does it slow down crime? Absolutely not.

Criminals are too stupid to give a F#!k about cameras.

  • I would love to live a city like this. Crime sucks.

  • @nobleheight No you don't. We just had 40 people shot in 50 hours.

  • @Chavias At least it was caught on camera, right?

  • @nobleheight By luck. There was a news crew that was tryna pick up a story about a shooting that happened with like 30 police around and some dudes just shot into the crowd. I'm thinking they just put up this system because of what happened. They need to put a lot more of those cameras on the south side than down town.

  • Just wear a mask everyplace

  • The angels see everything

  • This is all Part of the New World Order !!! It's TOO LATE FOLKS, they are over the Halfway mark !!! WHO CAN STOP THEM ??? No more Freedom = NO MORE AMERICA

  • Big Brother = Were Screwed !!!

  • I think jobs are a little more important than cameras, spend your money wisely fools!

  • @thechoiceisyours1 these ARE the new jobs. police, private security, military, homeland security. all this shit is going to be used to protect the extreme wealthy elite from us peasants when we realize that we've been looted.

  • GUYS watch Zeitgeist the movie . these cameras need to be taken down

  • If there's something you're scared that everyone/someone in particular might see, then you might now want a camera watching you.

    Come on, Privacy?

I suppose the put the camera's in 'public' places watching public places, not where you do your private things. just sayin.

  • fantastic...the "commander" of the camera center is a limey queer in a city full of fat retarded fucks...perfect fit.

as the report showed...these cameras are basically for misdemeanors...so, they are a revenue generation citizen fuck machine...much like meter maids.

  • @baronderothchild

Where do you think they got they got the camera idea from? London is the most watched city on the face of the Earth.

  • Don't go out into public, stay at home.

  • @FlowerClown in a few years they'll probably have people convinced that there should be cameras in your house. you know, to keep you 'safe'. you might slip in the shower, hit your head, knock yourself out, and die! so we'll just put a camera in there, problem solved! don't like that? you must be a domestic terrorist and arrested in advance in case you commit a crime. welcome to the new america folks.

  • I would feel much better if there was a camera inside my house watching out for burglars, murderers, terrorists, or just plain accidents where I fall and am unable to get to help. We need camera in houses. How can you feel safe without a camera in your house watching over you?

  • @cagedtigersteve How can you feel safe with one watching you. Statistically not all security or officers are necessarily good guys. They get caught stealing, raping, or committing murder just like civilians. One of the longest running unsolved murder/rape case in my area was committed by 8 men, six of whom became police officers. It took 20 years before they were brought to justice. I don't trust the police anymore than I would trust the local drug dealer.

  • I always feel like somebody's watching me....shoot them bitches down...

  • Even with all the cameras, Chicago is still the murder capital of our nation.

  • New powers demand new accountability. The more surveillance law enforcement brings to bear, the more public scrutiny it must be willing to submit to. Citizens must be aware of both the possible benefits as well as the new potential for abuse.

  • If it is such a good deterrant I guess they will be down sizing their force then right? If they weren't able to zoom I would maybe think about it until then never! There are bad apples everywhere so stop acting like this won't be abused...

  • CHicago SUCKS

  • They don't mention facial recognition software in this video, either. Which, if you can download 'Recognizr' for your Droid and identify anyone on the street... Don't think they can't ID everyone on the street in real time. For those who believe this is a good thing... Google: the 'Hollerith Machine' and imagine how Hitler, Stalin or Mao would have used this technology. Like a boiling frog, when America wakes up to find itself an open air prison -- It'll be too late to do anything about it.

  • i did a design job for someone who has a surveillance camera business. i said nice cameras, he said they're demis, the real one is the 'screw' in that electric socket, just the screw

  • Wow no wonder this country is going broke so fast, But hell i agree with the idea i prefer to be safe then sorry. Many people demands for someone to look after them while walking on the streets and i think its a great idea but i am betting half of those cameras wont even work.

  • Some of these cameras can see right into your house...

  • ...

  • ohh god i think its a good thing to have cameras on the street!! i mean what kind of privacy do u w want?? walking down the street?? lol! its not like ur fucking in the middle of the street and u dont want people or something watching u.. -_-"..

  • @yingting6136 Exactly. There's no privacy on the street. Everyone can watch you. But if they can catch a rapist, or a murder or thieves, then why the fuck not? As long as they're not looking into peoples homes/yards, then I'm fine with it.

  • "dont zoom in on peoples faces" then show them busting a guy who didnt go to court. HUH? wonder if that prick is a liar?
