It takes a lot of money to produce these shows, you idiots, and there wasn't enough viewers to justify the cost of continuing to produce them. that's part of living in a capitalist society. deal with it fucktards.
I own all Nintendo systems, all Sega systems, a PlayStation 2, an XBOX, a ColecoVision, an Atari 2600, an SNK Neo Geo Pocket Color, a PC, and an iPhone.
Arcade was not just about playing video games, it was a social thing. People could congregate and have fun and meet people. Kids today dont know what they are missing. Now they just play online
@ClassicGamer88 You can get a zillion console games, but they can never take the place of walking into an arcade and hearing all of the games make their sounds and then deciding which game to plunk your hard earned quarters into first. Coming down to your last quarter and figuring out which game to play last before going home was always a tough call.
@wiredtvcraze I know! I remember going to arcades back in the day. Now we have online gaming. I remember playing Pinball Machines, OutRun, Afterburner, Hang-On, Centipede, Donkey Kong, Pac-Man, Paperboy, Popeye, Track & Field, Space Harrier, Arkanoid, R-Type, Operation Wolf, Pole Position, SkeeBall, Tron, Spy Hunter, all of those thinkg when I was a kid. Oh, the memories of my childhood. I got so many game systems stashed in my closet, so I can look back at what I grew up with.
@BenJabituya One of the best Retro Pinball simulators is the "Pinball Hall of Fame, The Williams Collection" on the PS2. The sounds, and game play are very accurate. You'll play it for hours on end. My next big step is to buy an actual arcade machine...like a Millipede or a Donkey Kong Jr. for $1500 bucks or so.
those who existed long before the Internet was created cared....
it's a hard concept for you to grasp, I'm sure, but before the Internet was made available to regular Joes like you and me, achievements like a high score and making it up to a certain game's level was quite the attraction...it was really an impressive feat. :)
Not anymore, though, a lot of people don't even bother now that they can easily see if someone's set the bar on a specific game for a specific platform.
I love my wii, my ps3 and my PC. For some reason I have no interest in getting the Xbox 360.
I think I am all covered except from the Halo games which I had in the original XBOX. Yet I don't even miss playing Halo.
Besides, if I wanna play Halo I don't mind waiting for the PC version. Till this day Halo 1 and 2 PC Online, has many people playing online. No rush for me.
agreed I own all ps3, ps2, psp, gaming pc with 8800gts, wii, ds, but I will never ever ever buy a 3fixme. and i don't like halo or gears so I am set too!
Is game makers on in England?. Is it on like Sky or Virgin media?. I've seen the Dreamcast, Playstation and now this on youtube are there like any more episodes on youtube and what do i search to get them?
I wish G4 would bring this show back. Some people confuse Game Makers with ICONS. But there is a difference. Game Makers is specific to video games, ICONS was sort of across the board pop culture phenomenons.
With the decline of arcades we saw an increase in youth violence. Bring arcades back with this completely fresh generation and at a quarter a game, and I'd predict a small drop in youth violence and crime . . . and also a rise in entertainment. I still see Arcades , but very few and far between now. Mainly at Put Putt and The Main Event. But those places don't have enough arcades to keep the attention span of even the adults sometimes.
I got an idea. Try googling a Game Makers DVD and I'm almost positive you'll find one. I love Game Makers and have the NES, The Crash, Atari, and Intellivision episodes on my DVR box. I'll look 4 one 2. Anyway, If I can find an entire DVD set of the Nickolodeon show 'Doug', we can find a Game Makers DVD
I remember when this was called ICONS.... then it was changed cause another bs show wanted the name on G4

Whatever happened to Game Makers series? It was a great series. They quit airing episodes last year. Damn G4!
PearlJammer07 2 years ago 21
@PearlJammer07 G4 is no longer about the games. It's become what MTV has become, more about other junk than what it was created for, music and games.

Does some one know a web site where I can watch all game makers episodes online because G4 only has an episode guide!
carnagex64 3 years ago 2
That's because G4 sucks all there is to suck since COMCAST / E! networks ruined them.

Starting at 9am Eastern, there's a blcok called G4 Rewind. They're airing Sweat, X-Play, Arena, GameMakers and more.

hootyhaha 3 years ago 3
Didn't they switch the names though?
benderbending22 3 years ago
No. Game Makers was strictly the history of game machines, companies, individual games. ICONS was mainly celebrities.
hootyhaha 3 years ago 3
Although it was called ICONS first then it became GAMEMAKERS

Actually dude....you have a point but to be honest here in CHICAGO people thought ARCADES in the neighborhood meant Gangs in the Neighborhood.
Although arcades did help the economy at one time.

(having to RELATE to video games) on a DVD set!
