  • the birds @ the very end reminds him of jennys prey to be a bird. - fuck i cried...

  • This was so sad! I'm wondering what's in the letter now

  • damn dust in my eye..

  • RIP Jenny. Poor Forrest. :'(

  • Greatest movie ever.

  • This always chokes me up

  • Dammit the allergies! :_(

  • so sad DX

  • Whilst watching this the TV downstairs was playing really sad piano music and felt like crying so bad

  • this bit is the saddest bit because 1 he burrys her under their tree and 2 the birds fly far far away like about 30 mins into the movie when she says please god make me a bird and let me fly far far away

  • There's the phrase that bumblebee says "if there's anything you need, I won't be far away"

  • awesome movie for me the best one

  • This world could be so great if all would think and feel like Forrest does. Simple, but honest.

  • makes my eyes sweat

  • I feel so awful for Jenny that she had such a hard life and finally turned around at the last moment. At least she knew Forrest Gump.

  • two people don´t understand english!

  • one of the few movie scenes i cried to. a definite Tearjerker.

  • I cry at this part everytime I cant stop crying when i see this part and when you watch the whole movie then get this part i die... my sister and i once watched this movie together we have already seen it a million times but we still cried sitting next to each other crying hard... tom hanks makes this movie amzaing i cant see any other person playing this role thannk god he did

  • "idk if we each have huh destiny or if we yall just floatin around accidentle like on a breez but i think maybe its both maybe both is happening at da same time" I like dat alot its preety dope..ha ya dats preety dope

  • @HayItsChelsea Oh my gosh!!! i know what you mean!!!

  • One of the major reasons why this scene stands out from most other sad scenes is the utter innocence that Forrest gives off during the scene. It's treated as if Jenny is still there in a way (with Jr giving a letter to her and Gump saying for her to call him if she needs anything), which in a way, she is. She is still in Gump's heart, as well as her son's, which along with the lesson in life, makes this scene utterly heartbreaking.

  • WHO THE f*** IS CHOPPING ONIONS!!!

  • @socloseno lol no onions here its all you

  • So beautiful. This is one of my favorite movies. It brought a tear to my eyes.

  • This touch me deep inside, one of the few movies that made me a tear.

  • That is very sad!

  • It isnt natural to die. made me cry

  • First movie that made me tear.

  • this movie is all about life , i love it

  • Tom Hanks is the only actor that could have portrayed this role to such an extent to win an Oscar. One of the greatest performances I've ever seen.

  • Forrest and Jenny's tree is my favorite tree in the world; it is so beautiful, especially in this scene. I love this movie!

  • Best scene ever...

  • I like the part with Forrest running in the dessert and the sun coming up in the morning. Pretty cool.

  • What kind of birds are they at the end? Because to me they sound like bats, is it just me?

  • What did the birds flying symbolize, was it jenny?

  • @94msueng In the movie she says when she was a kid, she used to pray "Dear god, please make me a bird so I can fly far far away from here.." ... so I think thats a pretty good indication that her prayer was finally answered :)

  • im a man and i cry everytime he starts to cry i dont know why buts its one of the best movies ever

  • I always wanted to know what the letter said when I was little...

  • Jenny died

    :,(

  • If Jenny got up from that grave ask for anything. I would leave.

  • @Bucs09 if your best friends your wife your childs mother would die and you love her would you not talk like he did ?

  • out of every touching scene in movies . this one gets to me the most.....

  • The line "If there's anything you need, I won't be far away." is very touching. Touched me since I was a kid.

  • It's the father and son moments that get me every time. If I have a son, im going to make damn sure we taking a fishing trip. Have the father-son bonding I never got.

  • i'm so proud i was named after this movie.

  • This is an awesome scene. I loved him watching Jenny's house being bulldozed. I think everyone cheers at that moment

  • tom hanks is some kind of genius. even though i know what's coming, i still cry every time. surely that's the mark of an amazing actor.

  • the ending makes me sad but happy at the same time because god answered her prayer and showed me that u shoud make the best of life

  • man i wanna see the scene were the feather flies away at the end

  • The line "If there's anything you need, I won't be far away." is a very touching quote.

  • Such a beautiful film.

  • i cried every time i watched this movie.

  • This is just good, such a good movie.

  • sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo goooooddd

  • last 7-8 seconds "Dear god, make me bird so I can fly far, far away from here."

  • This speech is a rare speech that actually ties the whole movie together without being plodding or annoying. Not only is he grieving with the loss of his love, and his mother, and bubba (we see him at 2 graves and the third with his mother is implied strongly) he is grappling with the concept the movie is grappling with.

Do we have a destiny or are we floating around accidental-like on a breeze. Forrest's answer "BOTH" makes the whole movie make sense.

Oh and I cry and get the chills :)

  • @ConcordantMind

it also explains the opening credits scene with the floating feather. the feather seemed to be just fluttering and meandering along randomly. But was it really just an accident, just blind luck that it ended up landing right at Forrest's old shoes?

  • @4863440 Wow 80 thumbs up! :-O But yeah, I always thought the feather is floating around accidental like but it never ever leaves the frame....sort of like randomness within a framework. I may be reaching on that one though :)

  • great movie

    Sad as well =..[

  • Probably the greatest three and a half minutes I've seen in a movie. Gets to me every singe time.
