  • Hey Douches bashing CrossFit, actually do something other then talk shit about not "Correctly" working out. Sorry we all don't go to Gold's Gym and sit around and brag about our high school sports day. We progress. Talk Shit Get Hit!

  • Crossfit simply doesn't get how important the slow twitch fibers actually are to the total package.

  • This kind of exemplifies how crossfit doesn't train the total package like they say it does. Any time you ever see a crossfitter trying to do near maxwork their form goes to absolute shit. There is a simple reason for this. They are incomplete athletes. All that focus on metbost and other bullhsit has caused their slow twitch fibers, the muscle fibers that provide the support for the big lift, to lag so far behind their fast twitch that they can no longer hold their posture under heavy load.

  • every fucking deadlift he did his back was rounded, his ass shot up way before his upper body even began too move, chest was always low and his upper back was never tight, not saying 505 is weak I'm just saying he'll only end up hurting himself and never lifting again which sucks more than anything

  • dont forget to keep your legs straight and lift with your back. you will lift more weight that way

  • @mikeOOman That made me laugh.

  • Just been watching videos of Ed Coan's best pulls, see the suggestions to the right of this video. I stand corrected you crossfit douchebags are so right about how the back has to round on your max.

    /sarcasm

Coan's back doesn't give an inch. Thats how you do it. You crossfit douchebags are clueless.

  • The event only goes up to 505? How telling.

  • ouch my back hurts from watching this

  • Hurrr durr everyone complaining about rounded backs. Notice as he was going closer to his 1RM his form was gradually getting shitter?

God do some of you even fucking work out? How can you expect to keep perfect form at your peak? Not everyone is a powerlifting champ, for amateurs its rare that their strength breaks before their form.

  • @13gr33n

You keep perfect form because you are good at what you are doing. Rounding your back doesn't make you stronger genius. If you cant keep your posture you have to go back and do some remedial work on your form like reverse deadlfits. Oh wait this is crossfit. You don't know how to work on your form because your weekend seminar didnt' teach the basics.

  • @IskurBlast You are a fucking class a idiot

If I put up a dumbell with your 1RM MAXIMUM and told you to lift it would I see perfect form? No, you would do whatever gets the weight up, i.e arching your back. This is the point I was trying to make you fool.

  • @13gr33n

My 1 rep max at what??? Dumbell press???? What. If you ask me to do something I'm not experienced at then yes my form will suck. But I also wont do something I'm not experienced with for a 1 rep max. I'm not a crossfit douchebag so I know better.

In the deadlift my form will not break on a max. For starters my max deadlift cannot be performed without proper form. The form is essential to maximizing power transfer. You are a crossfit douchebag so you dont know that.

  • partial deadlifts...so what, you're too lazy to bring the weight back to the ground. No wonder people hate CF.

  • I think crossfitters just like to get the weight plates that fill up the most possible space on the bar so that they can look like they're lifting more. I swear, if they made 10 lb bumper plates that were three feet thick the crossfitters would use the hell out of them.

  • lol look at that final deadlift, one way ticket to snap city

  • I love training in Crossfit. It really compliments my martial arts training and keeps me in awesome shape, but some of these Crossfit competition videos show people who have terrible technique in their movements. Some of the Crossfit gyms out there must be lacking in checking the technique of their athletes. Lifting that heavy with rounded out backs, uneven distribution of the weights across the body, craning of the neck, poor balance, and the other problems I'm seeing is just dangerous.

  • @astrobiologist

Its not some of. Its fundemental to the entire approach. Oly lifts and power lifts should not be used as a form of conditioning. Yes they tire you because they take a lot of energy but they are too dangerous to be done tired. Its a dangerous approach but glassman doesn't give a shit. You signed a release so he doesn't care.

  • Crossfit = stupid.

  • Future bicep tears and herniated discs all over the joint

  • What are the weights for all the lifts or the increments to calculate it. I think it would be fun to try this in a workout.

  • id like to see you guys have perfect form 30 minutes after running miles through the hills

  • @AnolympianVideo further proof that these competitions are fucking retarded. even more proof: 20 reps in a short period of time at heavy weight up to maximal weight for many of the lifters. That kind of volume is just begging for an injury

  • @TBW92 I guess this kind of stuff is not for you... just stick to golds gym doing tricep pulldowns, curls, and bench press in front of the mirror . these guys in the video know what they are getting into (well, almost since they find out the workouts the day of).

  • @AnolympianVideo lol you mad crossfit homer?

  • @AnolympianVideo

I think I speak for the entire powerlifting and olylifting community when I say to you and other crossfitters STFU. You are doing our lift and you are doing them poorly.

  • 1:30 how to destroy ur back

  • @mikesomething yeah, worst technique

  • These guys are pretty fuckin stupid but if you really wanna see CrossFit at it's prime:

    1. Look to the right

    2. Click "CrossFit Games 2009 Blair Morrisons 215 Snatch"

    3. Laugh

  • @xXxMrMysteryxXx XD hahahahaha

  • why perform (with terrible form) power and strength lifts with high reps? it completely contradicts the reasons for utilising them. Ill tell you why.. its because "crossfitters" think they are world class athletes but if they ever performed maximal lifts their bubble would burst and they would realise that there are 20 year old girls who weigh half they do and lift more!

I suppose Crossfit is OK for people who want to be "alternative" and have nothing better to do.

  • I feel very gay and ashamed that I watched this video. But apart from that, this appears to be a pretty good DL from a crossfitter. Where can I buy plates that are 4" wide? I've never tried deadlifting with these kind of plates...might make it a bit easier. Especially if the weights are "taller", thus increasing the bar height off the ground at the start of the lift.

  • @apacheman15

Usually the wide ones are bumper plates, which are covered with rubber. And sorry, all plates have a standard diameter. :)

  • @apacheman15

So ture, the " taller" weights are much easier to lift.

  • @GymIsJoe I'm assuming that you are poking fun of me when in fact, "taller" weights would absolutely be easier to lift. "Taller" weights would have a larger diameter and thus a longer radius. Longer radius means the bar would be higher off the ground at the start at the lift which would make the lift easier. I probably should have used the word diameter instead of "taller".

  • @apacheman15 No offence bro. I am thinking the same:

"taller" weights = larger diameter, and therefore higher bar level.

somtime, I wish I could have longer arms, which will be pretty helpful, when

    it comes to deadlift.

    Cheers bro

  • what is the weight increment for each lift?

  • Dude, fix your arms- one of them is waaaaaaay lower than the other, that asymmetrical loading is going to ruin your back/shoulders.

But, as a crossfitter, you knew that already, didn't you?

  • If you knew anything about dead lifts the putting down part is where you can get injured. Therefor you put the weight down fast, if the means throwing it then by all means. If you lift tryst heavy and u went down slow your lower back would pebbly get hurt bad

  • @SuperSanti777 thats ridiculous, you are much stronger in the eccentric portion of EVERY LIFT tell this to powerlifters, you realize for a good lift, it has to be lowered under control yes?

  • @brineal2 Speak to powerlifters then. When training for reps do not control down; keep hands on the bar and let it drop. Only in a competition do they control the eccentric.

  • why the hell do they throw the bar??? one of the main rules of a true deadlift is that you have to put the bar down slowly....

  • @ricardozs1983 Lol try putting down 505 pounds slowly.

  • @K2Finality i meant not to throw the bar

  • @K2Finality and of course that's the limit of all crossfiters they will never deadlift 900 XD

  • Fking haters!

At least try a few of Crossfit WODs and judge.

How could you criticize something that you have no f idea about it?

  • @zoonghwa i don't practice shits, i practice real sports, that's because i dont try crossshit

  • what's with the oversized red plates? is this what the crossfit fags do to make themselves feel better? Pretend they are using 25kgs plates?

  • Disgusting form. Also looks like you're locking out the weight with the bar on an angle? Hope it's just the angle of the video. How's that spine going? Snapped yet?

  • nice back

when you finally ruin it, can i take it?

  • Fitness .. it is what you want it to be....

    Crossfit..

    Bodybuild

    Marathon

    Fighting..

Get of your damn horses Napoleon we are all human.. It is expected to be better in one thing or the other.. If its looks .... all around fitness..... endurance... just strength.. we all suck at something... Get the damn my shit don't stink mentality out of your head.. because last time I checked SHIT all around stinks... ........... At least there not fat... Fking PORKERS...

  • @leprechaun2666 what a disgusting discriminatory post, no wonder why people call it a cult, you're a group of pretentious idiots with condescending demeanours judging the rest of the population who don't "crossfit/ shitty form on powerlifts"

  • Those plates are bullshit, the bar doesn't even bend, yet it's full of plates lol. Crossfit is horrible.

  • @illouie The bar usually doesn't begin to bend until the low 500's for deads, so it's very possible they were doing 505 and it just wasn't quite bending yet.

  • very impressive considering you crossfit guys cross train so many unrelated events.

  • holy hell fix your form dammit...gonna snap your back like a twig.

  • Did your arm almost dislocate on the 505 deadlift? it looked so much lower then your left xD jeeze.

  • You know half of lifting things up is putting them down. Dropping the weight shows you have zero control over it. Aka weak as shit.

  • @bzeljn trollolololo

  • @bzeljn Yeah, hands on the bar at the least.

  • Great idea. Seems difficult in practice though: both the intensity of the lift and fatigue of lifter rise sharply. As can be seen in the Blond dude, towards the end he was basically straightening his legs and lifting the weight with his back. No doubt due to severe exhaustion and loss of focus/coordination. Not to say he wasn't capable of lifting those last bigger weights with tight form, but more that the chosen format of the deadlifts set him up for the big ones while he was in the worst state

  • lol calling it a deadlift, thats only half a lift once you drop the bar..

  • The guy behind him wasn't lifting 505 it was lighter because it goes of in weight, no weight is repeated. There was only one bar with 505 on it.

  • most of the powerlifters i know are former track athletes lots of fast twich muscle fibers.

  • Fucking rounded backs all over the place, no wonder we get criticised about how shitty our form is.

  • @trecuck i still love crossfit :'(

  • i never imagined cross fit being this easy. I figured the best guys would lift 505 for 20 reps in 1 min and then run a mile in 5 min and then do 200 push ups followed by 50 chins. Most people who deadlift consistently with good genetics could eventually do 505 for 20 reps in 10 minutes. I know guys who could start with 505 and work up to 705 in 10 minutes doing a rep every 30 seconds.

  • @gregdoucette yeah, they'll probably die if they ran 100 m in 1 minute...pfff

  • @gregdoucette sweet bro...tell them to compete in the games

  • doesnt this hurts your back? please someone reply...

  • So I quess there is no point in competing if you are like a lighter weight guy...say like 56 kilograms (about 123 pounds). 505 would be nearly 4 times my bodyweight. In fact 505 would be close an IPF record for me.

  • WTF!?! I thought they said crossfit!?! this looks like some kinda power lifting comp almost.....I mean they are doing some pretty good weight for as small as they are tho! but yaaa I thought CF was like doing 225 50 times as fast as possible and all that

  • @87swayZ they do both, high rep and focus on power lifts. this is just one of the many events they have to do. but yes the main focus is high intensity workouts

  • shin guards for deadlifts?? LMAO! I try to find something about crossfit that i like...but seriously, shin guards?

  • @yonkersfugitive those are actually compression socks... to relieve lactic acid buildup pain from his quads... before this event they all did a 7K hill run with STEEP hills... so i think calf cramps are probably a common thing

  • why do alot of these crossfit people where their socks pulled up high??...80's time

  • damn thats awesome! no wraps either pure strength

  • Impressive indeed!

    But @ 1:29, 1:36 & 1:59....is Johnny a round-backer?

  • animal

  • damn that screaming bitch is annoying

  • lmao on the 505 lift the guy behind him just lifts it like nothing

  • @kingkilla961 With full vacation attire too: baseball hat and tshirt I bet it feels good being him

  • @melbusefi

the bars actually increase each row... the heaviest was 505, his bar was just a little over 400

  • @kingkilla961 thats cause it was around 400, he did the same lift around 1:00

  • @kingkilla961 The guy behind him isnt lifting 505. You start at the 315lb bar then every 30 seconds you rotate to a higher weight until your reach 505lbs which is the max.

  • @kingkilla961 I think the guy behind is not lifting the same amount, look closely he has two less of the dark colored plates....than the guy in the front.....

  • @kingkilla961

If you look at the weight, the guy behind him only has 1 black plate each side. Graham has 2, and is therefore lifting more weight. Which is probabbly why he has to actually put some effort into it ;)

  • @Wraithos can you tell me what the colors mean? 45lbs for black?

  • @kingkilla961 lmao at you thinking you were right

  • @kingkilla961 its not the same weight

  • @kingkilla961 lol because its a ladder workout. The weight progress and as u complete the lift you move over. The guy behind was prob 80 pounds heavier and 10 reps fresher

  • @kingkilla961 i think that was a lighter weight

  • what a screaming banshee...

  • Thank you for this video....I'm inspired to workout even harder today.

  • this is a crazy event/competition. much respect

  • Man this video was so intense even I jumped up from my chair and was like COME ON MAN! haha good job dude. crossfit kicks ass!!

  • thats pretty impressive. im startin crossfit now. i have a bodybuilders build now i just need to get crossfit fit.

  • Very impressive work. Probably one of the most entertaining crossfit vids I've watched.

  • you are really strong! plus your form is all raw power which adds to the pure athleticism. much respect and props in your dedicated training.

  • you are really strong, but your form isnt too great. your back was arching like a bananna : o

not dissing you, just saying be careful man thats some heavy ass weight to be having a curved back with

  • @sakelee if this machine of a human is capable of completing the feat we just witnessed here, im sure he knows what hes doing and does not need your insipid comment, regardless of his lifting form/style of choice. why don't u post some 400+ lbs pulls before making such posts. 5* 's

  • you obviously dont know the importance of proper form. go read" starting strength" and get back to me. i am trying to help him prevent injury, not take away from his performance.

and please dont throw a fit. internet arguments are rediculous. good day

  • @sakelee everyone's physiological structure is different and his ability to lock, in succession, that godly amount of weight 100% raw is proof of superior lower/mid back development as well higher soft tissue/bone density. if his lifting style rounds out a bit while maintaining 100% health, by all means because he is capable of these lifts.

  • capable, yes. more prone to injury, yes. its basic physiology, the back is not supposed to pull that "godly" amount of weight in such form.

ask any good coach if an athete should lift with a rounded back.

cant believe there is even a disagreement here. this is a no brainer...

  • I agree that rounding isn't advisable..yet considering the nature of this event* and a new max fully locked, who's to say its not permissible? Lets appreciate the beauty of his orchestrated mechanical unison and application of strength in each lift and be glad he did it without fancy schmancy triple-ply space suits belts or straps.

  • yeah man, i would love to be in one of those events for sure. thats a really, really cool competition. tons of super strong guys and tons of competition. im sure i will in the future. cheers

  • @sakelee like to see you do better

  • i believe you will see me do better. i am young. im living up to the challenge. i personally believe i will do much better by the time im his age and onward. its all healthy competition : ] thankyou for the challenge. we should compete for that matter and leave this video out of it. you may not care enough to check but il upload my vids if you sincerely wanted to see me do better

  • @sakelee uh... stfu

  • good job, whats your max?

  • 470 was previously before this event, my new max became 505

  • Comment removed

  • thats amazing how you PR'd by that much consider all the weights leading up to that. was it the adrenaline? or what

  • those were the rules... wouldnt have made a difference if i went back to the ground with them anyways

  • you're a beast!!!!!!!!!!!
