Hope you get my point guys:) world peace.
Linangin ang kaisipan sa ating munting bayan. Alamin ang nakaraan at pagbutihin ang kasalukuyan.
Thank you for sharing... If I'm given a choice between now and then, I'd still choose now otherwise I would not have my little son with me.. But in fairness, life before was so simple everyone looked content and happy. Parang no stress!! I wish I can still show this to my lolo and Lola. They'd be very proud!!
@j0bski it wasn't the japanese that bombarded manila. the americans couldn't get to the 6,000 japanese walled in intramuros, so they decided to bombard manila & intramuros, along with massacering 100,000 filipino civilians (most children, infants & women) to kill the 6,000 japanese. it was the americans that killed filipinos & bombed manila, as well as steal our gold reserves well into the 1970s.
@nenabunena hey dumbass do you realize in 1942 that United States surrendered to the Japs so Manila wouldn't get wasted as well, why can't the Japs do the same in 1944? If you think like this in 1944 during the war in Philippines. The Filipinos would shot you as a traitor!
@PrinceChaloner excuse me? u guys never learn ur manners do u? y would they shoot me as a traitor just bec i don't love americans 4 massacring 100,000 filipino children? i doubt the americans did anything 4 the sake of pinoys, clearly they had no conscience in killing 100,000 civilians 2 get 2 6,000 japanese, since they're both gooks right? my grandfather was a guerilla, most of his brothers died during ww2. my other grandfather died during ww2 & all of my grandmothers bros died.
@nenabunena so don't u dare call me or my family traitors 4 being aware that americans used us 4 our natural resources. in fact you were robbing us of all our gold up until the 70s. you cared about the land, not us people. next time, whether you're a wasp-washed filipino or an ignorant bigoted american, don't pretend to be out 4 our concern when all you care 4 is the great america & how they exterminated an entire race of native americans. bye. i wont waste my time with you again
check ur history books next time & check ur facts, it was the americans that bombed manila, not the japanese. this is fact, not abt kissing america's ass. stop reinventing history, maybe u like 2 delude urself & change history books but not every1 subscribes 2 ur revisionist ideas. there's no love 4 the japs here, just hard cold facts. & 2 add, tanungin nyo mga lolo at lola nyo, they say as well as history bks that the worst atrocities during ww2 by japs were actually korean soldiers
@nenabunena hey dumbass my grandfather was a guerilla fighter as well a Filipino Major in the US army. If he see what you type here he would shoot you as a traitor back during the war. Those Japs also tried to rape my grandmother and practically murdered my uncles girl cousins by putting them on a stake inside there house and burn them alive. So STFU TRAITOR!
@PrinceChaloner IMO if what u say is true then u & ur grandfather r not Filipinos, u don't have a patriotic bone in ur body it seems. You love the US so much that u would turn traitor 2 ur Filipino brethren & country. U love America more than ul ever love Filipinos or the country. Ur dirty mouth is indeed American & the fact that u would shoot any1 who speaks the truth says what kind of people u r. IMO America can have u, we don't need traitors like u in the Phils.

@markiesky Typical FLIPFAG is typical.
gracious lord!!! look at the streets of manila,..para kang nasa US or Italy, ...imagine kung ganyan padin until now,,di na ko mangangarap pumunta sa ibang bansa para lang maexperience ang ganyang scenario...how walkable our city during the post war..haizzzzzzz.... today i still look forward to go abroad just to visit beautiful places or even settle there for good reason..but while watching it,, sana ganto padin naun@@

we shouldn't have pursued independence after the WWII so that the Americans should have restored and repaired the damages of the war also caused by them. if that happens, we could have been an American colony until now and life would have been easier for us.
The Filipino leaders right after the war wanted independence in order to have access to the "cash and in kind" reparations from Japan and the U.S. That's why we have oligarchs to this day; corrupt rich families monopolizing the media, businesses and government brainwashing everybody to say, "yes sir" and "yes ma'am." U complain, u get shot.

Foreign nations like America did not build Manila, rather they brought with them a system of law that respected private property and capitalism. Through this, Filipinos were able to build for themselves a strong economy and a beautiful city. Wealth and progress stems from individual cooperation with one another, and respecting one another's rights. America and the Philippines have lost their way in this respect, and it is why we are facing economic hardship.
The old Philippines was destroyed by wars and other armed struggles that took place since the American occupation: first was when the Americans invaded manila and stole the islands from the first Philippine republic led by Aguinaldo, and second was when the Japanese invaded the country. War can really transform heaven into hell. I hate wars!
Manila< comparable to Paris, London, New York before world war 2. after ng war umuunlad naman ang Pinas(2nd richest country in Asia next to Japan) kaso nga lng ng dumating si Marcos dun na nagsimula ang pagbagsak ng Economy ( at lumala pa ng mag Kudeta nong 1989(Natakot ang mga investors ng ibang bansa na magnegosyo satin at dun pumunta sa karatig bansa<singapore, hongkong, china, korea, etc2x)
@AfterClassTrip just what do you know anyway? Marcos regime plundered the philippines' treasures worth several billion dollars during his 20 yrs. reign....We used to be 2nd richest nation in asia, next to japan.
@jeyeykei plundered? yeah, perhaps. But the economy went down? lol no.
That happened on Cory's time. and since then, we never recovered. Democracy only happened to people in power. They made sure we stay this way. Capitalism, my friend.
@AfterClassTrip perhaps?! you're not even sure?...this isn't going anywhere, acknowledgment of what the marcoses had done to the country would have at least helped heal the nation's illness. there wasn't a tinge of judicial reform...so so sad !
capitalism? that's another issue..unless china eats the US alive, otherwise...america will keep on siphoning our riches till we're totally drained..Illuminati ! the nazi was resurrected from its grave. peace.
@jeyeykei judicial reform? It isn't even related to economy. lol
Capitalism is. It IS the issue. Name one president who had accomplished the same achievements or even surpass Marcos'. Infrastructures, economy, warfare, energy demands, so on.
He may have had fallen short on being a great leader for falling prey to power and corruption, but don't be too quick to judge. The leaders who followed after him dragged the country down and robbed our own economy. It's all conspiracy. Even without the US.
@AfterClassTrip judicial reform has nothing to do with economy? from what angle would you like me to start? LOL... you said it yourself eloquently,"he had fallen short on being a great leader", meaning, marcos and his regime failed so miserably!!... too quick to judge him? you shld be asking the thousands and thousands of families who became victims of judicial killings, torture, massacres, mysterious disappearances, land grabbing, property sequestrations, mega business sequestration (cont.)
@jeyeykei That's not economy. LOL Yes, those were crimes, some of em are relevant to economy, but judicial has nothing to do with economy. That's in another department.
And yes, he may have failed to satisfy the rights of his people, but once again, let me repeat what we are disputing here. He did NOT run our economy down. Not by killing the press, not by threatening his political enemies. And before he even became president, he was already rich.
@AfterClassTrip Everything i mentioned is pre-requisite to each ,one way or the other and definitely relevant to a nation's economy... when a company's big boss is doing everything good for the company, what follows is happy employees, as simple as that. "He did not run our economy down" LOL when you plundered a nation's wealth to an absolute ZERO, WHAT THE HELL WOULD YOU CALL THAT? ... yes, you should rest your case, because you haven't got the vaguest idea of what really is the POINT.
@jeyeykei You are so clueless. What is your proof that he did steal everything from our country? Why would he build infrastructures, modernize our military, and strengthen our nation and even made us one of the most powerful countries during his time? What's the point of stealing when you're already rich and already attained a powerful image? People were never satisfied. The country was booming, and maybe freedom was the bargain for it. But POINT is, when your country is BOOMING, economy also is
@AfterClassTrip Clueless? Proof? HISTORY IS MY PROOF. Most powerful nation ? yes, once upon a time, until he became the Pres. and bastardized the nation. Already rich? read your history books , marcos and his family was so poor then.. his power is from stealing the nations fortune.
@jeyeykei nonsensical would be? Just because you disagree with what I'm saying doesn't mean it's nonsensical. I'm only pointing out that during his time, our economy was alrite. Ok then, let's say he did steal from the country. But my point still stands that our economy was stable then even with him stealing and running everything during his regime.
I won't dispute this with you any further. Nice talking to you, sir.
@AfterClassTrip Disagree with you? I don't even know you, but i don't agree with the history the marcos regime made with the country. And from all point of perspective, your point hasn't any logic at all. Stealing is a crime, not to mention the unimaginable nos. of human rights violations committed to his people , it should have been death as a punishment for him, his family and cohorts. And from what imaginary lala land would someone like you would say that the economy was stable? (cont.)

@AfterClassTrip (cont.2) marcos regime wouldn't be called the "sick man of asia" during that time, apparently for he plundered the national treasures and the ECONOMY SPIRALED DOWN THE DRAIN !!!
You shouldn't dispute with this issue any longer, because as far as i know, depending one of the most hated men on this side of the planet, is tantamount to a sure-loss proposition to begin with. but I salute you though for being so courteous ...good luck.
@AfterClassTrip to both of you. It is not "he" who was the issue it was his partner..... nagpa under lang siya, sinunod nya lahat ng layaw siya pa tuloy napasama. When it comes to economy ok naman, but the problem would not arise kung hindi dun sa pagpapa under nya.
There are also hidden information and documentations that will not be published, now let's face the present.
@AfterClassTrip (cont.2) illegal extension of presidential term, cronies questionable mega wealth, US and allies non buss.tariff, (capitalism), suppression of the voice of media against the regime, dictatorship, military type ruling, martial law in favor of his extension of office....and these were just tip of the ice berg...wld you like to hear more? BTW, when you bankrupted a nation, how would you expect the next leader to start his/her car, when the former totally emptied the tank? think?
i hope we filipinos can bring back the glory of manila, and bring a new legacy to this city. this time, without any help by foreigners, but only with our love for our capital city.
@mrBullsheet well depeende kung san ka nakatira manila...i'm pretty sure dun ka kc puro ganun lang alam mo...oh kaya baka di ka pa nakalibot sa manila kaya u don't know much about the place...d ba taga cebu ka? no wonder! stay where u are kc baka mamatay ka dito...hahaha! LOL!
I hate it when people started pointing fingers at the government after Ondoy. Yes, I understand when they complained about the slow rescue teams, but when they blamed the gov. for the floods, I think that they should only blame themselvs because they were the ones filling up our canals with trash, blocked the streems and creeks with their buildings, and generally polluted our waterways. And they started telling us that we should throw our trash properly etc etc. Hypocrites.
Kaya kapag-umuwi sila for good (ofw) walang sapat na naipon dahil sa kapapadala.
sa totoo lang, i’m dreading abt the earthquake that will hit the capital…
English is an official international language. Even in other countries, English is studied and taken seriously.
This is not about colonialism, but it is about global communication.
Thanks to English, we can understand everyone in every parts of the world. Spanish is an elective, but more knowledge is better right? Much like learning Bisaya and Ilokano dialects, learning them will make you better at communicating at every bisaya and ilokano people.
i remember my long distnace relative grandfather told me that during peace time[before the ww1]food are abundant,a bread of a size of a cacao fruit cost only 1/10 of a cent, during simbang gabi, every folk brought food to the church and invite road traveler to stop over and eat,,,,now i dont know what happen after the war and since americanhand over the government to our genius moneyface, corrupt politician, the economy slowly moves down
Manila before WWII, American build it and even preserved some Spanish architecture. America has no choice but destroy it to get the Japs out. During the reconstruction Filipinos build ugly looking building without regard to zoning and presevation.
@pmr2564 To true mate Taft avenue was beautiful befor the war and nice after it...... until they built the LRT (elevated train ) above it and blocked out all the light and air
parang mas maganda at masmalinis ang manila nuuon kesa ngayon di ba? at look all the people maayos ang mga pananamit at muka silang mga disiplinado...di katulad ngayon tama....
the Beauty of the Philippines was destroyed by our Ancestors.... if only our ancestor didn't start the war...... ~_~
how i wish i could turn back time when the war didn't happen,
as i have been staying here for long time in manila..... I have seen how corrupt the Philippines is now... unlike in the history i've read, they were united and more hardworking.... :(( how sad it is to see the present philippines....
don't get offended bro. If you want to show patriotism, do it the right way. Peace tayo bro^^
@mitsubishidiamante well, i noticed that. But because during that time, under pa ng Commonwealth gov't ang Pilipinas, so supervised ng americans ang gov't natin, kaya nakaibabaw yung flag nila sa atin..
@melovesyellow uhhhm WRONG idiot. america defended manila from the japs you nescient fool.
know you god damn history before posting crap like this. save us from your idiocy
mga tao nga naman. allied tayo ng americans nung WW2.. kalaban ay JAPS, naging battleground lang ang manila pero hndi sya SINIRA NG AMERICANS like you stated.. actually dineclare na nga nilang open city to nung WW2 to prevent destruction. kaso war un eh. once na nag start mahirap na stop.. ano gusto mo buhay or building?
@artoflip2 magbasa ka ulit ng mga history books po! you konw wny we got involved in war? kasi may mga military base dito ang mga americans, kung wala sila walang gera, amerians ang target ng japs 'di filipinos. dineclare nga nila na open city then binomba pa din nila para lumbas un mga nktagong japs. But the good thing was they helpd our country a lot in politics, education, econom etc.. kay para sakin mas ok na dumating ang americans. :D
@syntaxengot000 wrong, it just happened na may base sila dito, pero even before the germany vs the world thing... nag buibuild na ng empire ang japan sa pacific. ohh please stfu
@syntaxengot000 add ko lang, hdni nila target ang americans... and target nila ay mga countries around them.
kya nila binomba ang pearl harbor in the first place kasi un ang unang sasaklolo sa pacific pgka sinugod nila ang mga countries around them... AMERICA ANG DPAT NA HNDI KASALI TLGA.. mag basa kapa please. intindihin mo mabuti.. kya nga nasabi ng mundo na THEY HAVE AWAKEN A SLEEPING GIANT. kasi di nmn tlga kasama ang AMERICA,,,,, ayan may natutunan kna. kya FUCK YOU
This makes me want to cry for what our country has become

check ur history books next time & check ur facts, it was the americans that bombed manila, not the japanese. this is fact, not abt kissing america's ass. stop reinventing history, maybe u like 2 delude urself & change history books but not every1 subscribes 2 ur revisionist ideas. there's no love 4 the japs here, just hard cold facts. & 2 add, tanungin nyo mga lolo at lola nyo, they say as well as history bks that the worst atrocities during ww2 by japs were actually korean soldiers
nenabunena 1 month ago
@nenabunena hey dumbass my grandfather was a guerilla fighter as well a Filipino Major in the US army. If he see what you type here he would shoot you as a traitor back during the war. Those Japs also tried to rape my grandmother and practically murdered my uncles girl cousins by putting them on a stake inside there house and burn them alive. So STFU TRAITOR!
PrinceChaloner 4 weeks ago
@PrinceChaloner IMO if what u say is true then u & ur grandfather r not Filipinos, u don't have a patriotic bone in ur body it seems. You love the US so much that u would turn traitor 2 ur Filipino brethren & country. U love America more than ul ever love Filipinos or the country. Ur dirty mouth is indeed American & the fact that u would shoot any1 who speaks the truth says what kind of people u r. IMO America can have u, we don't need traitors like u in the Phils.

we shouldn't have pursued independence after the WWII so that the Americans should have restored and repaired the damages of the war also caused by them. if that happens, we could have been an American colony until now and life would have been easier for us.

@AfterClassTrip just what do you know anyway? Marcos regime plundered the philippines' treasures worth several billion dollars during his 20 yrs. reign....We used to be 2nd richest nation in asia, next to japan.
jeyeykei 7 months ago
@jeyeykei plundered? yeah, perhaps. But the economy went down? lol no.
That happened on Cory's time. and since then, we never recovered. Democracy only happened to people in power. They made sure we stay this way. Capitalism, my friend.
AfterClassTrip 7 months ago
@AfterClassTrip perhaps?! you're not even sure?...this isn't going anywhere, acknowledgment of what the marcoses had done to the country would have at least helped heal the nation's illness. there wasn't a tinge of judicial reform...so so sad !
capitalism? that's another issue..unless china eats the US alive, otherwise...america will keep on siphoning our riches till we're totally drained..Illuminati ! the nazi was resurrected from its grave. peace.
jeyeykei 7 months ago
@jeyeykei judicial reform? It isn't even related to economy. lol
Capitalism is. It IS the issue. Name one president who had accomplished the same achievements or even surpass Marcos'. Infrastructures, economy, warfare, energy demands, so on.
He may have had fallen short on being a great leader for falling prey to power and corruption, but don't be too quick to judge. The leaders who followed after him dragged the country down and robbed our own economy. It's all conspiracy. Even without the US.
AfterClassTrip 7 months ago
@AfterClassTrip judicial reform has nothing to do with economy? from what angle would you like me to start? LOL... you said it yourself eloquently,"he had fallen short on being a great leader", meaning, marcos and his regime failed so miserably!!... too quick to judge him? you shld be asking the thousands and thousands of families who became victims of judicial killings, torture, massacres, mysterious disappearances, land grabbing, property sequestrations, mega business sequestration (cont.)
jeyeykei 6 months ago
@jeyeykei That's not economy. LOL Yes, those were crimes, some of em are relevant to economy, but judicial has nothing to do with economy. That's in another department.
And yes, he may have failed to satisfy the rights of his people, but once again, let me repeat what we are disputing here. He did NOT run our economy down. Not by killing the press, not by threatening his political enemies. And before he even became president, he was already rich.
AfterClassTrip 6 months ago
@AfterClassTrip Everything i mentioned is pre-requisite to each ,one way or the other and definitely relevant to a nation's economy... when a company's big boss is doing everything good for the company, what follows is happy employees, as simple as that. "He did not run our economy down" LOL when you plundered a nation's wealth to an absolute ZERO, WHAT THE HELL WOULD YOU CALL THAT? ... yes, you should rest your case, because you haven't got the vaguest idea of what really is the POINT.
jeyeykei 6 months ago
@jeyeykei You are so clueless. What is your proof that he did steal everything from our country? Why would he build infrastructures, modernize our military, and strengthen our nation and even made us one of the most powerful countries during his time? What's the point of stealing when you're already rich and already attained a powerful image? People were never satisfied. The country was booming, and maybe freedom was the bargain for it. But POINT is, when your country is BOOMING, economy also is
AfterClassTrip 6 months ago
@AfterClassTrip Clueless? Proof? HISTORY IS MY PROOF. Most powerful nation ? yes, once upon a time, until he became the Pres. and bastardized the nation. Already rich? read your history books , marcos and his family was so poor then.. his power is from stealing the nations fortune.
PLease, spare me of your nonsensical comments.
jeyeykei 6 months ago
@jeyeykei nonsensical would be? Just because you disagree with what I'm saying doesn't mean it's nonsensical. I'm only pointing out that during his time, our economy was alrite. Ok then, let's say he did steal from the country. But my point still stands that our economy was stable then even with him stealing and running everything during his regime.
I won't dispute this with you any further. Nice talking to you, sir.
AfterClassTrip 6 months ago

You shouldn't dispute with this issue any longer, because as far as i know, depending one of the most hated men on this side of the planet, is tantamount to a sure-loss proposition to begin with. but I salute you though for being so courteous ...good luck.
jeyeykei 6 months ago
@AfterClassTrip to both of you. It is not "he" who was the issue it was his partner..... nagpa under lang siya, sinunod nya lahat ng layaw siya pa tuloy napasama. When it comes to economy ok naman, but the problem would not arise kung hindi dun sa pagpapa under nya.
There are also hidden information and documentations that will not be published, now let's face the present.
astrayasagiri 2 months ago
@AfterClassTrip (cont.2) illegal extension of presidential term, cronies questionable mega wealth, US and allies non buss.tariff, (capitalism), suppression of the voice of media against the regime, dictatorship, military type ruling, martial law in favor of his extension of office....and these were just tip of the ice berg...wld you like to hear more? I hate it when people started pointing fingers at the government after Ondoy. Yes, I understand when they complained about the slow rescue teams, but when they blamed the gov. for the floods, I think that they should only blame themselvs because they were the ones filling up our canals with trash, blocked the streems and creeks with their buildings, and generally polluted our waterways. And they started telling us that we should throw our trash properly etc etc. Hypocrites.

The language situation in the Philippines is an atrocity!
The Philippines was a Spanish colony for 350 years. It was an American colony for only 48 years.
Yet, in the Philippines, English is a mandatory subject since the 1st grade while Spanish is barely available as a high school ELECTIVE.
The Philippines should have much stronger ties with the Spanish language than with the English language.
jbislove08 9 months ago
@jbislove08

Manila before WWII, American build it and even preserved some Spanish architecture. America has no choice but destroy it to get the Japs out. During the reconstruction Filipinos build ugly looking building without regard to zoning and presevation.

the Beauty of the Philippines was destroyed by our Ancestors.... if only our ancestor didn't start the war...... ~_~
how i wish i could turn back time when the war didn't happen,
as i have been staying here for long time in manila..... I have seen how corrupt the Philippines is now... unlike in the history i've read, they were united and more hardworking.... :(( how sad it is to see the present philippines....

@ericsantiago011
don't get offended bro.

Very nice footage of a bygone era before the war. War destroyed in a moment what peace built in centuries...
professorxmalabon 11 months ago
1:18 if you notice the flag. the philippine flag suppose to be on the top of the American Flag coz the Americans are just visitors of the country

@melovesyellow uhhhm WRONG idiot. america defended manila from the japs you nescient fool.
know you god damn history before posting crap like this. save us from your idiocy
mga tao nga naman. allied tayo ng americans nung WW2.. kalaban ay JAPS, naging battleground lang ang manila pero hndi sya SINIRA NG AMERICANS like you stated.. actually dineclare na nga nilang open city to nung WW2 to prevent destruction. kaso war un eh. once na nag start mahirap na stop.. ano gusto mo buhay or building?
artoflip2 1 year ago
@artoflip2 magbasa ka ulit ng mga history books po! you konw wny we got involved in war? kasi may mga military base dito ang mga americans, kung wala sila walang gera, amerians ang target ng japs 'di filipinos. dineclare nga nila na open city then binomba pa din nila para lumbas un mga nktagong japs. But the good thing was they helpd our country a lot in politics, education, econom etc.. kay para sakin mas ok na dumating ang americans. :D
syntaxengot000 11 months ago
@syntaxengot000 wrong, it just happened na may base sila dito, pero even before the germany vs the world thing... nag buibuild na ng empire ang japan sa pacific. ohh please stfu
artoflip2 11 months ago
@artoflip2 tama ka.
Archraveful 11 months ago
@syntaxengot000 add ko lang, hdni nila target ang americans... and target nila ay mga countries around them.
kya nila binomba ang pearl harbor in the first place kasi un ang unang sasaklolo sa pacific pgka sinugod nila ang mga countries around them... AMERICA ANG DPAT NA HNDI KASALI TLGA.. mag basa kapa please. intindihin mo mabuti.. kya nga nasabi ng mundo na THEY HAVE AWAKEN A SLEEPING GIANT. kasi di nmn tlga kasama ang AMERICA,,,,, ayan may natutunan kna. kya FUCK YOU
artoflip2 11 months ago
Archraveful 11 months ago
artoflip2 11 months ago
