I'm sorry too see this end :( I watched all of the series and I like your commentaries much better than the other YouTube "Let's Play" video chains. I hope this re-opens soon.
Man, this was really good, too. All the same, I can tell you why the spiders hiss. It is because there really are a few spiders that hiss. 'Tis the sound of nightmares.
@DWTerminator awww :( theres no other LP on this :( well, theres another, but i was just getting into this one :(
ahh, oh well, win some, you lose some, still, i've seen your other LPs... and i must say, i do like them, so i'm sure i can get into a differnet LP of yours ^^
You assume I want to take the time to look at a map of the dungeon and follow it. Maybe for a specific puzzle in a given game, but definitely not when getting lost is just part of the experience.
I recommend a item that has light so you can see a bit further. and argh disease is devilish with it lowering stats, temple in town should help with that through.
OMFG YOU STARTED TO CONTINUE THE LP! YAYYYYYYYYYY!!! Dude I've been waiting like 2 years for this LP lolol. Btw, this is o0Kensh1n0o's 2nd account. =]
Oh of course, the "poor things" that can paralyze you and do a sizeable amount of damage with each hit. They must just throw those in these games just to pick on us arachnophobics. -_-
@DWTerminator Sorry man, but yeah, why do they have to make such large spiders and that they are so strong. I mean, when did spiders became stronger than goblins. Or better yet, when did goblins became the weakest enemies. -_-'
Interesting thing is... I think that in Oblivion (maybe Morrowind too) there are not spiders at all. xD I can't remember any. And if you are ever going to make a RPG, definitlely do one without them. :)
It'd be harder to kill a giant spider than a goblin, you know. It's completely understandable... but that doesn't reconcile the fact that they're in pretty much every RPG in existence. Anyway, yes, in Oblivion and Morrowind there aren't any.
And I guarantee you when I make an RPG (one of these days I'll actually put some effort into doing so), it won't have any spiders as enemies.
@DWTerminator Lol, I know. Sometimes, you just have to be careful there. But you never know with enemies in Arena. There are some really weird and random ones. And I agree with you there. Mostly in older RPGs, ther eare just too many spiders! Or rats... but spiders as well. But Morrowind and Oblivion have some crabs, that look like them. xD
So you have in plan of making a RPG. That is great! Be sure to let us all know if you start or even finish it!
I've had the plan to make an RPG for a long time. Just never got around to figuring out the specifics. First things first though: gotta code the engine. I want this thing to help me with my programming skills after all.
As for the older RPG's having too many spiders... I have one thing to retort with. Dungeon Siege. I need not say more.
And crabs definitely aren't and don't look like spiders... they're delicious crustaceans.
@DWTerminator I have been making RPGs, but only with already made program and tools, and they were just made to be programed one wayed. Though I had many options, it still needs much skill to even make something like that. But I am sure that you could do it and yeah, first do that and then go to the main things. You will have a lot of fun doing that!
Dungeon Siege... I have played this some years ago. But yeah, it defines the word spider there.
Ah, yes, creator programs. You're doing it wrong. ; )
I'm programming the whole thing from scratch. It'll take a while. Luckily I've got plenty of down time this coming week so maybe I can get some of the engine stuff knocked out and start working on what I want the RPG's to be. And yes, it's a blast, but exceptionally time-consuming and pretty difficult. Difficult is good though.
And on another note, I'm really surprised you didn't get paralysed by those Spiders. Lucky, lucky.

Just wait till your play Skyrim. The spiders are a lot more detailed and they show up very early into the game.
shuboy05 3 months ago
They're also much bigger and easier to spot from a long distance... while the ones in Arena are almost indistinguishable from the environment.

Love your reaction to the giant spiders. xD Spiders in video games creep me out too. I've played enough Baldur's Gate to get used to them though.

That reaction tends to happen when you're arachnophobic. -_-

you need to explore skyrim in this !!! ik u can go to all the provedens in arena
Ireallylikepie22 3 months ago
The spiders can paralyze you, especially with low endurance.
I love hearing the metal chinking when you hit spider skin.
Arena Minotaurs seem to have a serious case of jaundice.
DistortedMannequin 6 months ago
I know they can. That's never fun and partially why they're so irritating in this one. The other bit being I'm arachnophobic.
Carapace, actually.
And yes they do.

What is a "Mark" in this game???? And do you've got a part 14??? I can't find it if you do.
BTW. Did you know spiders are returning in Skyrim? :P
good luk
MeIsDaan 7 months ago
Yes, I know spiders are back in Skyrim. Bethesda is evil. -_-
Anyway, a "mark" is basically a symbol (think something like an ankh that you carry around) of some sort that can cast spells.
And no, there's no part 14 yet.
DWTerminator 7 months ago
Nice have u made 14 yet?

There are spiders in Minecraft? I was under the impression all you ever had to worry about are zombies, pigs, and hell.

You probably won't like Demon's Souls then, since one of the bosses is a giant fire breathing spider.
Tasuke 1 year ago
I've become used to the fact that pretty much every single fantasy game just *has* to have spiders in it.
And I wouldn't like Demon's Souls because it's a Playstation-exclusive, not because of the boss spider.
