what quests do u have to complete to unlock this so far i have done dual tigrex, tigrex, diablos, black diablos, black gravios, gold rathian, silver rathalos and both rajangs what other quests do i need to do??

I killed it on my 2nd try with the Dragon Demolisher hammer 936 raw power and 450 dragon, it was pretty simple just keep on hitting its head.

nice video, you're pretty good. so do you recommend doing it with a lance? me and my cousin have been trying this quest for awhile, me using death stench s and the blue ogre sword and him often using narga s and the hidden gunlance. we also tried both going at him with hammers but that didnt work out too well T_T

Nice guide lots of detail, you ever tried any other weapons? I like it how you've put armour kits that we can actualy get and not them stupid over guides that have the Akantor armour and stuff -.-

DS is great against Akantor as well. But you'll need earplugs to prevent your ear drums from bursting when the akantor screams.

hey i gots question, ive completed all my hr 6 quest, though it says cleared in red so i know im missing something, but unable to get that last one what ever it maybe so i am unable to get my akantor urgent

btw i feel u on lance, back in 2freedom i charged it all day as it tries to charge me, i pwn crisom fatalist with it too

it means u need to unlock silver & gold ian/los by killing hr2 lao OR killin 30 ian/los

Dual swords kills him faster than using a lance in my experience. Lances are slower but I prefer to kill it slow and steady :)

Killing it with a lance was recommended because of it's ability easily block most of akantor's attacks and then counter-attack with a few pokes. It is quite easy to kill it with a lance in fact.

Very nice, but may I ask, how long did it takes you to kill it?

I don't have a habit of checking the final time when i complete quests. However, i went back to my raw video and checked the length and managed to find out that it took me around 33 mins 45 secs to clear this particular quest. I guess lances aren't that impressive when it comes to quest clear timings ;) .
