Nice video about Gdansk, you've got nice editing skills!! We've been there in november and it's a really nice town to visit. We've shot our intro in Gdansk and an episode as well, you should check it out if you want
When Gdansk was the biggest harbor of Europe, It was Polish. Poland was for 3 centuries the biggest, richest and the most powerful country of Europe. But in 1795 Poland was attacked by the Russians, Germans and Austria-Hungary. Then Poland fought for it's freedom for 1 century. 1800-1900. Then Poland became a powerful country too (1920 Polish-Russian war) they saved Europe because the Russians wanted more area. Then in 1939 Hitler was very afraid for Poland. Poland wasn't weak...
@JNadobnik Hey, sorry, my dear fellow, but the country you are talking about before 1795 is Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, not Poland. And never you forget that! (of course Gdansk is a Polish city...)
Gdansk was founded by Poles, captured by force by Germany, and now they want us to mention they aggression as a part of Gdansk History! No way! Gdansk is in Poland now, where it belongs!!
The town has both Germanic influence and Polish influence but the German cultural legacy doesn't sit well with Polish nationalists (or revisionists). The free state was never dissolved its residents were forcibly removed and an illegal occupation started from 1945
Villages around Gdansk were always continously Polish and are so to this day. Gdansk was partly germanised, although the core of population was coming from surrounding villages, since 1793 it started undergoing forced germanisation by arrogant prussian rulers. Polish king Zygmunt August, 16c, was too lenient, he ought to hold it with iron fist, like other rulers of his time did, then we wouldn't hear german complaints now. Thanks Russia.
@wladys678 German influence in Danzig has been constant since its founding. Farenheit was born there, in 1660 over 28 000 mennonites (and they weren't Poles) in Danzig , you can't rewrite history just because you need to justify past unforgiveable ethnic cleansing. Germanic tribes have been in the baltic for almost 2000 yrs. The Slavic alpines didn't appear until the late 800's on the baltic.
@godstargodstar You are accusing me of the same sin Germans are in-famous from time immemorial to present.I am not intending to deny anything, only want to bring into light what was hidden for long.Germanic tribes doe not mean Germans.Romans did not apply linguistic or ethnic criteria.Term "Germania"by Ptolomei et al meant slavic populus as well. Term G.in present meaning is fairly new and dates back only to 16c-it brings in a lot of confusement and misrepresentation by german shauvinists.
@godstargodstar Hold it...No honest person is going to deny mennonities or Fahrenheit origin. Now we can discuss presence of"germanic"tribes there, one thing is undeniable:slavic populus is continously present and dominant for at least 4.5/four and1/2/years in all present day Poland,exc.woj.Olsztyn settled by old Prussians, also side-related to slavs, all of former DDR and more westward,Belarus,Ukraine and middle part of european continent.
@godstargodstar I meant:slavs live in Poland for 4.5 milleniums. This is confirmed by research of male chromosone. The distinctive indo-slavic haplogroup R1a1a is also present in Bulgaria,Yugoslavia,N.Italy for 11.6 milleniums. This and other factors totally abolish german theory that slavs appeared there in 6 and 7th centuries.Actually that theory was always thin and doubtful, countered by linguistic, written historical and other evidence.re.Anatoly Klyosv & Igor Rozansky research.
@wladys678 You have been a busy Pole. Okay you are mixing things up here a little> The cutural heritage of East Prussia and Pomeranian from the early middle ages up to 1945 was predominantly Germanic...The seat of these lands was in Lubeck, Danzig was part of the hansa league. Poland had a distinct Jagiellon outlook for most of this time. This ended with the russian co-habitation. ~(even collaboration) the Romans described Poles as Hunaie Polonie and didn't place them on the baltic
@godstargodstar You happen to read trashy german junk, almost all lies as usual. You DARE to make me feel guilty???first response for deporting MY FAMILY inOct.1939 from the heart of Poland, city of Lodz!!!response for the death of the brother of my grandpa, his son and also my uncle, pay me back the ransome my grandma had to pay to gestapo,a bribe in a heavy gold load, because gestapo was taking bribes for my grandpa, pay for automobile Germans stole from him, stolen forniture and a free rent for 5y
@godstargodstarAnd all my family guilt was, they were educated Poles.Respond why german neandertales in their typical arrogance renamed the city of Lodz to a ridiculous Litzmanstadt ! I've heard there were plans to resettle these Huns of Europe called germans, where I dont know, hell is the best place for this sort.God bless Russians, God bless Zhukov, god bless the noble Pole Rokossowski. I'am saying same what my mother,18,said in January 45, she was crying of being happy after she heared Russi
@godstargodstar Yes,they heared Russian language that morning and all that village in GG was happy and crying because the nightmare was gone. Then they cheered how Polish troops along their Russian Brothers go to Barlin to kill the beast in its nest !to set Polish flag on Brandenburg gate and time whe it flies there again is near.Take your germano-hunnic achievements with you and STUFF IT in your ...hole,where it rightly belongs.!!!By the way, you even lie about your herd's name, its teutonic.
Not as Gdansk but Danzig. It never tried to be Independant but always tried to tie itself to the Hanseatic league and look to the west and north . It was populated by Dutch memels , Germans and Kashubians (who weren't classed as Poles). When they were given Free state status over 95% of the population stated they were German. The free status was never repealed and its population was ethnically cleansed in 1945/6 mostly by murder.
@SiCGaming123 have u informed yourself about the history of "danzig"? germany stole danzig from poland... read it pls and dont comment if u dont know anything about the history u moron..
Germanic tribes have been living in West Poland (area of danzig) since 500 BC.
Germany and Poland shouldn't fight over this. Poland had its own territory to the east. Then Stalin and the Bolshevists had to fuck it up. The Russians are the greedy ones that took the land. Not Poland or Germany.
Hitler was stupid, other than that, the Russians have been the ones that kept many nations and peoples from their freedom.
@SiCGaming123 polands first city called "gniezno" was not so far to the east... it was in the area of poznan thats pretty western... nethertheless yes, poland had territory more eastern... but thats not the point... danzig or gdansk was founded by poles and had been for long time polish then the "teutonic order" or "deutscher orden" conquered it... after that, poland got it back and it was polish again until the "polish partitions" at the end of the 18th century when poland was attacked by
@SiCGaming123 prussia, austria and russia.. so danzig became german for more than 100 years... and thats many germans think danzig is german... silesia and eastern prussia were german thats true but danzig is a polish city...
@MrThorn88 Now I don't know what to say? Interesting accusation. Ever since the Roman Empire, and after its fall, West Poland was ruled by Germanic Tribes.
@SiCGaming123 But it has nothing to do with age of german and Polish states which became leter.First Polish borders were very alike today. And there was no germanic tribe there. It was ethnicly Polish, ruled by Polish since 4th century and after that by Polish crown.germans had nothing to do with this lands cuz they left it about 3rd century on its own.We dont tak about tribes but Our two states..
@MrThorn88 Why are you so hard of critical thinking? There is no proof that Danzig is Polish, historians wouldn't even look for a single ruin. Second I'm not an uneducated german, I'm no German. I am by far more educated than you are. You deserve nothing but pity.
And I already knew what was coming from you. I just went a long to show people, how degraded and sad people are these days.
@SiCGaming123 U dont know shit about me.There's no proof that it was german. One thing is for sure. From known history.Since 977 it was Polish. For most of its history was Polish.Gdańsk developed into what it is under Polish crown not under German.U cant change the history boy.
@MrThorn88 Hey you know what? You're a patriotic pole PIECE OF SHIT. You accuse me of being jealous, when you KNOW, YOU'RE jealous yourself... and guess what? BLOCKED! THAT'S RIGHT! YOU'RE BLOCKED
@godstargodstar It Is Gdansk not Danzig! It belongs to Poles more than 1000 years. Its been stolen from poles by German Knights but we got it back same thing with Nazy Hilter. So its about time to drop Danzig as a city name and leave it to great metal band, cause my city is Polish and its call Gdansk u Nazi bastard
@godstargodstar Not just Gdansk and Szczecin are Polish from beginnig to present, these cities carry purely Slavic names:Berlin,Rostock,Kiel,Wismar,Schwerin,Schleswig,Kemnitz,Leipzig,Dresden,Potsdam,Kopenick,Passau thera are tens of thansands like them in present day Teutonia, these names mean nothing in German, but have clear meaning in Polish and Czech.Hamburg has a Slavic core.If Kasubians are not Poles, than Bavarians aren't Germans.
Kiel founded by Normans called in 1233 Holstenstadt tom Kyle( the town by the fjord)
Rostock was settled by Polabians but has remained totally german for over a thousand years.
The same can be argued about many early settlements but removing a people from lands they have lived on for over a millenium and denying that they constructed these towns is just pure fantasy born out of uncle Joes propaganda machine .
@godstargodstar At least you admitted origin of these roots, but most germans don't.Removal of people was never a polish way in 1100 year history, unlike some other countries.Colonization of Polabians,Drevlans and other western slavic lands was brutal often with use of treachery and murder on large scale, reminded of "christianization"of Saxons where those reluctant were executed.Christianization of Prussians by Teutonic Knights equaled mass murder.Contrary,christ.ofPoland brought no human victims.
@godstargodstar I don't rule out your theory on Kiel, the one I know sais it is derived from slavic word "kiel"-I cant resolve that, but it is obvious that vast majority of names there are slavic. Decision of resettlement was made mutually by 3 superpowers as soon as in Tehran,no Polish government or even a single Pole was consulted. Its hard to tell who came forward first, some say Churchill, some Stalin. You are exaggerating with 1000ys of Meklemburg.
@wladys678 Okay don't bring up Tehran.no better than Wanasee. A carve up of someone elses land and premeditated murder and ethnic cleansing. One of aims of the Polish government inexile was to push the ..."german horde back beyond the oder and up to the kiel canal" British intelligence made studies of the population deplacement neccessary for this to happen and deemed it socially unacceptable. The Poles had put this on the table along with taking back the Kresy don't blame others for the result
The biggest Lighthouse in Pomeriania , the tallest spire in Poland, the largest medieval site in eastern europe, the oldest building in Danzig, the largest church in poland, the oldest brick building in poland, the earliest Seat of bishops these are all German achievements. You have your own rich culture it is demeaning that you hijacked someone elses glory.
@godstargodstar Its all bullshit. Most of valuable bulildings were built while Gdańsk was Polish, under Polish crown it had the best period of its time. Then gdańsk became the richest port in europe.Learn german learn!!The largest medival site?????where(u mistook something)??? Spire in Wrocław?nothing interesting,u can take it back.Castle in Malbork(teutons built it not germans).U r retarded.
@godstargodstar Polish chronicler of 1273,who in his young age served as a canon monk at cathedral of Lubeck has described slavic heritage of that city and surrounding lands.Reportedly first acconting books of Hansa were written in slavic language and survived to present day.I am not for removal of people but coverup, denial of the past is evil as well. You can't have both things at a time.
@godstargodstar Kashubians weren't classed as Poles??.Wtf stupidity are u saying u retard??Poles were living with germans there. It was Polish city for most of its time. The families were mixed Polish-german or Dutch-Polish etc. They stated they were germas because of circumstances.learn history uneducated boy.
@sebaM963649 you making a terble mistake. He dosn't mention Nazi's. Its whas a Prussian city that something difrent then a Nazi city. The real Prussian civilians dosn't like it at all that they called German.
Even long before those 300 years and during times of Polish sovereignty germans were living there, the german eastward settlement started around 1200 and the city was part of the german Hanseatic League. And when it was stolen by Poland in 1945 almost the entire population was german,so was most of the architecture.Of course polish thieves would like to erase that part of history, just like you tried with those territories you stole from the Ukrainians and other neighbors in the east.
@QuintusSecundus Part 1.what u wrote is proof of ur lack of knowledge about history and ur cretinism. 1.I didnt say that gernmans didnt live there. It was multicultural city (like London today but noone says its not British.Gdańsk was Polish). 2 For 750 years gdańsk was Polish. For 300 Prussian so learn history u fucking retard.(it was Polish Royal city for 460 years. Was founded by Poland. 3.To hanzeatic league belonged not only german cities. Most of architecture is Dutch and Flammand.
@QuintusSecundus part 2.Polish King was hireing Dutch architects cuz wanted city to look like Dutch ports. Most of biulding are designed by Dutch architects cuz city wanted to look like the other richest ports in europe(so leaarn bout history of architecture german bitch). 4 .what lands on east?We stole nothing.Everything was Polish by agreement as Lithuania which joined us in commonwealtets so learn Nazi bitch, learn.U r just nazi.uneducated, retarded cunt.Go to school u fucking germ man.
@QuintusSecundus part 3.population in 1945 wa mostly germans cuz people were germanize by force and german manipulations with law of nationalities statemsnt. All those are facts.U wwant rewrite history u nazi whore.Hitler failed and u fail too.his propagand lives in you but just like Hitler it's pathetic german retarded idea.As for settlement of germans:Polish borders in 966 AD was like nowadays including Gdańsk(It was like that since 6th century).U won't change it to ur likeness u germ.
And if we go back a few more centuries then there were no slavs around and the whole area was populated by germanics. Just the typical lowbrow reply from a polish illiterate I'm already used to - insults and slurs mixed with some historical half-truths and cherry-picked dates justifying genocide and expulsions in the 20th century with borders from 966. At least we can come back in the year 2245 and then do the same to your people - since it has only been 300 years from 1945 right.
@QuintusSecundus few centuries??Slavs are here since 6th century so its 14 centuries. There was also celts in here so they have rights to this lands? It was land of Lechits. There was no countries. The lived at random beside each other. We talk about history from moment when states beacame.half-truths?Yeas u use them by scheeming hitler's propaganda drumed into your head and u r not even aware of that.Expultions?U invaded us!!We kicked u out and took our lands back.Gdańsk was Polish for 750 years!!!
Like I said, the 6th century is just mere three centuries prior to 960, so why stop there? If you go back that far to justify your very recent landgrabs, you should all pack your coffers and head back east where you came from.
I don't even have to reply to all your obvious lies, the facts are quite simple:
Fact: In 1945 Danzig was a german city, and it has been so for many centuries.
Fact: Poles murdered and expelled the native inhabitants and stole their land.
@QuintusSecundus in 45 was german cuz stolen. Its historic facts. For most of its time was Polish.two times more centuries than german.Poles expelled invading nation and regained their land back.I can go to 4th century no problem but what for? Those days there was no germans and no Poles.Only tribes living at random.I use historic fact,u use nazi propaganda of uir father failed painter pathetic Hitler.
@QuintusSecundus The biggest development of Gdańsk was under Polish crown. It's Polish royal city!!U stole it and this is why u owned this. Now its regeined by its lawful owner Poland.Cant u accept the truth u pathetic nazi?Gdańsk for most of his existing time was Polish-fact.The greatest development under Polish crown -fact.I see I have to speak to u like to retard.Stolen by germs-fact!!Now in London 60 percent of ppls are foreigners, means its not Brittish?so part of germany is turkish.U r moron

You are exaggerating with 1000ys of Meklemburg.
wladys678 8 months ago

MrThorn88 5 months ago
@godstargodstar Polish chronicler of 1273,who in his young age served as a canon monk at cathedral of Lubeck has described slavic heritage of that city and surrounding lands.Reportedly first acconting books of Hansa were written in slavic language and survived to present day.I am not for removal of people but coverup, denial of the past is evil as well. You can't have both things at a time.
wladys678 8 months ago
@godstargodstar When it was Polish it was multicultural.Poles,Dutch and germans lived togheter.

@sebaM963649 you making a terble mistake. He dosn't mention Nazi's. Its whas a Prussian city that something difrent then a Nazi city. The real Prussian civilians dosn't like it at all that they called German.
Prussia whas Prussia and not Germany.
Raap123 6 months ago
@QuintusSecundus What long?300 years was Prussian(stolen from Poland) while it was Polish for 750 years.
MrThorn88 5 months ago
@MrThorn88
QuintusSecundus 5 months ago
@QuintusSecundus Part 1.what u wrote is proof of ur lack of knowledge about history and ur cretinism. 1.I didnt say that gernmans didnt live there. It was multicultural city (like London today but noone says its not British.Gdańsk was Polish). 2 For 750 years gdańsk was Polish. For 300 Prussian so learn history u fucking retard.(it was Polish Royal city for 460 years. Was founded by Poland. 3.To hanzeatic league belonged not only german cities. Most of architecture is Dutch and Flammand.
MrThorn88 5 months ago
@QuintusSecundus part 2.Polish King was hireing Dutch architects cuz wanted city to look like Dutch ports. Most of biulding are designed by Dutch architects cuz city wanted to look like the other richest ports in europe(so leaarn bout history of architecture german bitch). 4 .what lands on east?We stole nothing.Everything was Polish by agreement as Lithuania which joined us in commonwealtets so learn Nazi bitch, learn.U r just nazi.uneducated, retarded cunt.Go to school u fucking germ man.
MrThorn88 5 months ago
@QuintusSecundus part 3.population in 1945 wa mostly germans cuz people were germanize by force and german manipulations with law of nationalities statemsnt. All those are facts.U wwant rewrite history u nazi whore.Hitler failed and u fail too.his propagand lives in you but just like Hitler it's pathetic german retarded idea.As for settlement of germans:Polish borders in 966 AD was like nowadays including Gdańsk(It was like that since 6th century).U won't change it to ur likeness u germ.
MrThorn88 5 months ago
@MrThorn88
QuintusSecundus 5 months ago
@QuintusSecundus few centuries??Slavs are here since 6th century so its 14 centuries. There was also celts in here so they have rights to this lands? It was land of Lechits. There was no countries. The lived at random beside each other. We talk about history from moment when states beacame.half-truths?Yeas u use them by scheeming hitler's propaganda drumed into your head and u r not even aware of that.Expultions?U invaded us!!We kicked u out and took our lands back.Gdańsk was Polish for 750 years!!!
MrThorn88 5 months ago
@MrThorn88
QuintusSecundus 5 months ago
@QuintusSecundus in 45 was german cuz stolen. Its historic facts. For most of its time was Polish.two times more centuries than german.Poles expelled invading nation and regained their land back.I can go to 4th century no problem but what for? Those days there was no germans and no Poles.Only tribes living at random.I use historic fact,u use nazi propaganda of uir father failed painter pathetic Hitler.

@MrThorn88
People who live in a region for centuries are not invaders.
But good to see that even you agree with these facts:
Fact: In 1945 Danzig was a german city, and it has been so for many centuries.
Fact: Poles murdered and expelled the native inhabitants and stole their land.
QuintusSecundus 5 months ago
This comment is some kind of joke... Are you really uneducated or just stupid and ignorant?
Nazi Germany are responsible for 2 wars + complete destruction of beautiful polish capital Warsaw.
Prussia and Silesia was the biggest mistake in Polish history and we would not let that happen again!
TheWieczory 3 months ago
@QuintusSecundus The biggest development of Gdańsk was under Polish crown. It's Polish royal city!!U stole it and this is why u owned this. Now its regeined by its lawful owner Poland.Cant u accept the truth u pathetic nazi?Gdańsk for most of his existing time was Polish-fact.The greatest development under Polish crown -fact.I see I have to speak to u like to retard.Stolen by germs-fact!!Now in London 60 percent of ppls are foreigners, means its not Brittish?so part of germany is turkish.U r moron
