D'angelo,Black and Speed were HEAVY CATS before the "cult of Kurt" and continue to amaze. When I moved to Boston in '88 one of the first "shows" i saw was some amalgamation of D'angelo,Black and Speed at the BPC and it"warped my fragile little mind"...I don't know what we call it BUT I LIKE IT!
Its called "Sich Reped." The song title is a rearrangement of the sax player's name, Chris Speed. It's off of the album "Welcome to Malpesta." You can't find the song in itunes though. You can find a pretty good live version by a group called "Orange Then Blue."

This is Rosenwinkel's best music in my opinion...it's more interesting than the typical gtr/piano/bass/drums ensemble
