  • have you grown any trees?

  • YOU DO BEAUTIFUL GARDENING.....BUT U MOVE YOUR CAMERA TOO FAST WHEN VIDEOING! PLEASE SLOW IT DOWN... SO WE CAN ENJOY YOUR WORK MORE. I LOVE, LOVE, SEEING WHAT U R DOING, AND AM LEARNING A LOT FROM U.

  • What state do you live in?

  • Hey man, I like your work. What is the weather like in your area?

  • I would really like to grow container vegetables but they never thrive for me. What are you doing for fertilizer and what watering schedule do you have them on?

  • thats pretty cool man.the bit at the end when you said it was the healtiest plant youve ever seen and your wife counted 50 bell peppers on it the other day.well i have a red bell pepper plant.no ive 2 lol but its winter now in ireland and everything is dieing but my red pepperbell plants are just growing and growing.its crazy

  • very nice garden me and my wife are going to try a garden next yr.

do you have any lettuce? i hear it grows good in pot also :)

we want to try in pots and in ground which do you think is better? good soil is important i know... good job the Lord bears nice fruit in your garden's!!

  • Great video. I just started using the Topsy Turvy this year. I planted several varieties of tomatoes, Sweet 100, Tiny Tim, Sungold and Grape. Had a great harvest, many pints of these little delicious tomatoes. I will add a few more next year and try some other vegetables as you have shown.

    Thanks for the tour!

  • why upside down?

  • MAN......YOU ARE GREAT, I LOVED THE VIDEO, mmmmmmmmmm LOOKS DELICIOUS

  • I just stared growing vegetables in pots myself and after watching your video I am very inspired to continue. Your plants are beatiful. I love the hanging ones and with my limited space I am definatelly going that route. Can you tell me the size pots of the hanging plants and where to get them? My favorite vegetables are peppers & tomatoes so I will definatelly be hanging them like yours. Thank you very much for posting such a nice video.

  • Nice Garden.

  • I love your gardening , but have you tried herbs? because seems you have a great green finger

  • @jrodriguez0370 thanx for watchin. actually we always do a small container of various herbs. thanx for askin. they're about the same...sunshine and water and it's pretty easy!

  • ciji1953 Thank you very much for the info on where you bought your hanging poles.I went and bought two at Lowes. What is the easyiest way to install them into the ground?

  • what kind of soil do you use

  • lmao "i'm getting alot of em up in here" nice garden

  • Hi! Your garden looks TERRIFIC! You said you wish you knew how to DESUCKER your tomato plants. Any vine off of the main vine without a flower is a SUCKER VINE. You cut the sucker vine at the main vine. You need to leave enough leaves on the plant so the sun can nourish the plant. When you DESUCKER your plants, the nutrients will go to the producing vines. This DESUCKER process will work on all of your fruit and vegetable plants. Good Luck! Jack

  • can you show me your marijuana plant

  • very inspiring!! thanks for getting me motivated!! :)

  • @UltimateAutodidact You're welcome!

  • you are my idol.

  • @lutangski Ah...lots of other people out there have a lot bigger gardens than me! but Thanks!

  • very nice garden

  • @tosendprashan Thank you.

  • this is great you can grow watermelans in containers i did not know that im going to try that thanks for the great vid man

  • @Maidenfairy12 You're welcome!

  • Hi! Your garden looks terrific! If you want your fruits and vegetables to grow larger, you need to thin the herd. You said you had 40 peppers on onw plant. Pick about half of them so the nutrients will go to the remaining. Some people have an established crop on one plant so they remove any new flowers. They thin the herd before it starts. Great video! Thanks! Jack

  • @BEEP338 Thanx!

  • wow thanks for showing us around your garden. I think I'm going to give some upside down pots a go, as our garden is very shady at ground level and there is more sun higher up.

  • @aeaglerivett Awesome. Lemme know how ya do!

  • this is probly a dumb question but does the cholate bell pepper taste like cholate ?

  • @jmorrow1231 Not a dumb question. I does not taste like chocolate. It's kind of a sweet bell pepper.

  • Very inspired to give it a go with the Topsy Turvy and upside down gardening! Very beautiful! I live in an apartment and do not have much ground space, but this gives me hope after hearing bad things about TT... Thanks for the video!

  • @Startruth144 Well, good luck to ya! Let me know how ya do!

  • I just bought some of the topsy turvy so I am excited to try. I love your garden!

  • @janeclmty Cool! How ya makin out? Things growing well?

  • Why don't you plant plants both up and down? Down works better or something?

  • Love the video. Just goes to show you that you don't have to plant a normal garden in your yard, to be able to grow your own food. I hope alot of people see this video and start growing some of their own food. Tip on the carrots.... Carrots love to grow in sand.

  • I love your video! I am a pumpkin enthusiast my self, though I live in a bad climate to grow them, did your pumpkins start as an upside down plant?

  • i'm new in this but i heard that if you plant a small herb or flowering plant on top of the roots of the upside down plants, it will help retain the moisture, maximize the space and add some pretty colors--> i heard it here :) (i'm not advertizing ^^) youtube.com/watch?v=RljB6LU_FD4

  • it's the coolest upside down garden i've seen...very nice!!!

  • I am looking for a pole to hang mine on. Where did you find yours at?

  • amazing garden! i once tried to plant watermelons, it worked, but they weren't as big as in the market, however, they were sweet as candy. just amazing *g*

oh, i love gardening! i'm a little bit jelous about your great garden *g*

  • Your video is an inspiration! I like the pots that you use for upside gardening. May I ask, where do you get the hangers? My Lowes and Home Depot don't sell them.

  • Awesome plants brother!! You guys eats vert very healthy I can see!! Awesome way to live! Nice set up also w/ the upside down plants! I'm goin to try that...thanx 4 the vid!!

  • I am certainly inspire to try out my green thumb.

  • @Atciting If I had something to do with your inspiration, I'm tickled to death! I wish you the best of luck. Drop me a line or let me know if you post a video of your success!!!

  • Say,

Great video. Very informative. beautiful crop. On Suggestion -

I noticed on another youtube that a fellow harnessed his upside-down plants to the pole he hung them from. This kept the wind from knocking them down.

  • @wuweimonks After my plants suffered a severe storm, I now use long twisty ties and secure each pot to the hook that it hangs from. That has worked for me. Thanks for posting! Appreciate it!

  • What do you feed your beautiful plants?

  • @moonshadow93924 Actually, I gave them Miracle Gro 2 times. Other than that, just water.

  • really nice dude ,but shouldnt you pik some off ?LOl

  • @kessmypersainass We did. We usually give a lot away to friends.

  • @Yewtoobnube oh wow, thats some thing i would do ,bravo man in these hard times we need to help each other out !!!! WEll once agian great garden loved watching it !

  • @kessmypersainass Thanx much!

  • I have been thinking about buying these for 1 whole yr now but the price was putting me off, infomercial price is $49.95 here in Sydney, Australia & u get "1 free, if u act now!" but than I came across it in a $2 store 4 only $9.95!!!

Highway robbery! I'm glad I found yr video bcuz tomorrow I will finally buy a few & not have 2 stress about z seedlings I have been raising. Really gr8 video, inspiring & informative!!!

  • @glammacakes Well, I'm glad you found my video too then! Holler at me when you get yours going so that I can hear about your success! Best of luck to you!

  • Impressive "little" garden!:) I found your video while looking for Spaghetti Squash growing directions. Wish me luck :)

    Cheers from S. Florida!

  • @TZAHISTRULOVICH First, thanks for the compliment. Appreciate it. Second...GOOD LUCK! Let me know how ya do!

  • This is a REALLY interesting video and I wish you lots of fortune. Thanks for the inspiration, where did you get the seeds? Are these organic (can their seeds be harvested)?

  • @googIed Actually, I didn't grow from seed. Got started too late in the season. Bought seedlings from a local nursery. You garden??

  • FANTASTIC GARDEN! I've been trying to grow pot veggies myself with little success but obviuosly it's very possible. Keep up the good work.

  • @drerodz Thanks for the kind post. Keep with it. You'll be fine. I've found consistent watering is the most important thing!

  • nice plants. i counted 46 pomegranates on my tree :D

  • great garden dude. do you know where i can learn how to make those upsidedown pots and how it works id really appreciate it. peace

  • @ganjaking187 There should be lots of videos here that explain it. It's pretty simple. I buy mine @ a store like a Dollar General. They cost about $1.50 each. I cut a hole in the center. I then take a coffee filter and cut a line from the outside edge to the center (it will look like a pacman face). Have someone hold the pot or hang it up....place your plant upside down and lower it thru the hole. Put the coffee filter around the stem before the root ball hits to bottom of the pot. Add soil!

  • @Yewtoobnube these are great cause they hardly take up any space at all, thx for the info. peace

  • @ganjaking187 Hey, you're welcome. I like them for just that reason. Easy to manage, great conversation piece and they produce fairly well. Best of luck to you!

  • i love all you plants!!! so may cucumbers and yummy tomatoes :)

  • @lol1lady916 Thanks very much! Appreciate it! We have so much, we generally give to the neighbors! Thanks for commenting!

  • wow! thanks for the tour. nice spot. must be hard to leave town!

  • @jjoohhnnnnyybb LOL. Friends will water cause we usually give away most of the veggies! Thank for the comments!

  • Is your spaghetti squash plant from 1 seedling? I've got 5 seedlings started right now and I'm trying to figure out how much space they're going to need. Would they vine up a trellis? Thanks for any info! I've never grown spaghetti squash before and I"m very excited! How did yours turn out?

  • @hollybearyhaleystar Wow....i believe it was 2 seedlings. I remmeber I had to pull them from the pot because they were root bound. I don't think they would go up a trellis because the squash is so heavy, but I could be wrong. I didn't grow them this year. Do you have any videos of your veggies? I'm gonna check. If you don't now but decide to put vids on later, holler so I can check them out ok?

  • @hollybearyhaleystar They didn't do as well as I expected because I think they were root bound. After I replanted them they suffered...the yard is a lot of sandy soil. It was the first time I tried to grow them.

  • Comment removed

  • @Yewtoobnube @Yewtoobnube I see, thanks for the quick response! I haven't taken videos of my garden yet, but I think I just may start! I'm also thinking of experimenting with my 5 seedlings and trying them each out in a different type of setting to see what works best. Thanks to you I know not to try them in a pot! Thanks! subscribing!

  • hey nice garden your plants look very healthy. have you ever tried planting raspberries, they are great, i got 4 plants and i collect about 50 raspberries every day, it's an awesome plant

  • @alessacanadiens No I haven't but I love raspberries. I even love the way you spell raspberries! I used to pick black raspberries as a kid and my mom would make pies. (most people don't like it this way, but I'd take a warm piece of pie, put it in a bowl and pour sugar and milk on it). You've sold me! How long does it take to come to fruit? First year? Lemme know.

  • i didnt get a chance to make a upside down garden this year, i did plant a few cucumbers and bell peppers but they are taking off slow, i couldnt baby them because i had surgery and sorta messed up summer, but next year i will be planting, your video is still my favorite!

  • @garrettmaria74 Well, first, I hope everything is OK after the surgery! Take care of yourself! Next year if you do it, let me know. And thanks for the kind compliment. I really appreciate it a lot! Very nice of you!

  • @earthpounder I mix 1/3 Miracle Gro Garden Soil for Flowers and Veggies, 1/3 Miracle Gro Potting Mix w/ Moisture Control and 1/3 Bumpercrop. I sprinkle in a little blood meal and a little bone meal. Thanks for commenting.

  • Good stuff man im thinking on doing the same myself and seeing this made me want to more its kool how many different things u got growing ill be looking for ur next one

  • @liljftw Thanks. Actually, my wife and I were chuckling last time we put some containers together cause it is soooo easy. Good luck if you give it a try.

  • Dont roots grow with gravity? oh and i love youre garden, im rlly jealous now ^-^ Its realy nice ;D

  • @chrisdietlmeier The roots actually grow up instead of down. Sometimes I have to add more soil to cover them. Thanx for commenting!

  • Dont roots grow with gravity?

  • what a great job!!!!!!!!!!!it's impressive how well your plants are doing.

  • @marguba123 Thanks for the kind words. It's greatly appreciated. Do you garden?

  • Is it hard to maintain a garden like this? I would like to start growing my own vegetables but I don't really have a green thumb.

  • @EyeamEJ the most important thing is you HAVE to water regularly. small containers need water. other than that, we were pretty successful. it's a good way to start small. try getting a couple pepper plants or a tomato plant or two. let me know how you do, ok?

  • Impressive, thanks for sharing. How many tumbling toms were in that pot?

  • @Laveduds Thanks for commenting. Actually, there was one plant in there if memory serves right. That one I purchased at a local nursery.

  • Amazing! I am just starting out w/gardening. Have a couple of topsy turvys with one heirloom and one grape tomato plant just starting, then I have about 12 heirloom seedlings growing in my window sill and just bought some zuchinni seeds to plant in my little garden. I have a few perennial flowers I planted last year that came back. I am becoming obsessed!

  • @bonfire817 Thanks for posting. As far as being obsessed....I hear ya! I got totally obsessed last year when I did my garden. If you plan to put any videos up, would you send me a message or link so that I can see how well you do? Maybe I can learn somethin from you! Best of luck to you!

  • BRAVO!

  • @jazzaero Thanks very much!

  • I like the plastic pot idea and it looks cleaner. You have really inspired me. Your yard looks great and your vegetables look delicious.

  • @Balzy73 Thanks. Appreciate the compliment. Let me know if you try your hand at it ok?

  • This has inspired me this year!

  • @TheChaplinLover Well, thanks! I appreciate that. Keep me updated on your success!

  • To de-sucker as you say you just pinch off (with your fingers) all the little growth that is not going to be branches, you should know by the way they just sit mostly in the crucks or bends in the branches, the tomato will grow better without the extra branches that are not producing fuit. You are doing really good now.

  • @rosewood513 thanks!

  • you have alot of friggin veggies and fruits! Have you been growing for quite some time?!

  • @beaman1981 This was from last year and it was the first time we'd grown anything, so we were very pleased.

  • do you recommend the topsy turvy sold at the home depot now? i want to start growing tomatoes and was wondering if that was a good idea.

  • @jfar8504 They work fine. The reason I varied from the Topsy Turvy's was simply price. They cost about $20 and I bought the plastic pots and the dollar store for a buck a piece. Let me know how you make out.

  • I do garden here in Florida but I go by a whole different set of rules , You see I'm from the Islands and there are very few gardening rules where I come from. I can grew anything anywhere and under any circumstance. living in Florida really helps we have great weather here all year round. Your videos did inspire me to try Topsy Turvy tomatoes today. so far all's well

  • @YPLLIVE Best of luck to you! Keep me up to speed on your progress.

  • Did you grow all these from seed?

  • @bowler8 No, I didn't. Bought most of them as seedlings at Lowes or local nurseries. One tomato plant was purchased already grown.

  • I love this garden wow !!!!

  • @YPLLIVE Hey, thanks very much! Appreciate it! Do you garden? I take any tips or advice!

  • looked like your spaghetti squash at 3:16 has powdery mildew.

  • Where do you buy the 4 pot stand shown at the begining of video?

  • @slvmnr I bought it at Lowes, but I modified it slightly. It came stock with a triangle shaped piece on the bottom to drive into the ground. This didn't work to my satisfaction, so I cut off the triangle piece which left a hollow square tube. I then drove a piece of 3/4 steel rod into the ground about 2 feet and left about 4 feet sticking up out of the ground. I slipped the planter down over the rod and it was definately not falling over then!

  • @slvmnr I purchased it @ Lowes.

  • AMAZING vegetable garden you got there!!! I am just in awe of how all the plants are doing so well! I am trying to grow the tomato moneymaker, strawberries, and red and green bell peppers. However, mines are still seedlings in which I am pretty new to growing vegetables, so I started kinda late with planting them. I am not sure if they will grow fruit at all being that I had started planting them on Easter Sunday.

  • @ntnguye3 Thanks for commenting. Let me know how you do.

  • Is doing this, actually easier and cheaper than buying them at the supermarket ?

  • @kusayshey LOL.....2 funny. Thanks.

  • Your garden is awesome! Bravo!

  • @jusdafide Thanks for the compliment. First timer here but it worked for us. Appreciate it.

  • will do thank you have a great day!

  • when growing the tomatoes plants upside down should you put a trellis underneath them or let them hang ?

  • @logcabininthewoods I just let them go and they were fine. i was amazed.

  • hi

you have such a lovely veg garden...i am going to try to grow squash in a pot .hope it works out for me.thanks for your ideas in this video.

  • @devotees1 thanks for commenting. Let me know how you do, ok?

  • wow man thats amazing...great job. im in vegas so i have to shade my plants to the maxx. my orange bell is the most healthy as well . strange plant that is ...

  • @DeAnDiStRuCtAbLe thanks for the comments. the orange bell seems to do very well which is good for us cause we love em! Let me know if you put up a video of your veggies!

  • it's green!!! where are you located?? we are soon to be moving to tennesee and cannot wait to get our own garden started!!!

  • @BrittanyJane726 hi and thanks for commenting. this was last july and we're in central ohio. If you garden, shoot a video and let me know how good u do ok??

  • talk about smart use of space, good god do i have a new grasp on my little space, aawsome vidieo, thanxs for posting

  • @basicimpala thanks for the comment! let me know how you do. if you plant containers, put up a video and give me a holler!

  • I been looking for the perfect video to teach me how to do my ideal potted garden and this is it!!wonderful! im gonna learn alot from you, thanks!

  • @garrettmaria74 You are too kind! Favor....keep me posted on your success! Deal?

  • I love ur videos there extremly helpful! I was wondering how often you water your tomatoes and strawberries I just planted them with the topsy turvy holder and i live in the desert where it gest pretty hot should i water them twice a day or keep watering just once daily? any helpful hints would be wonderful Thx!

  • @neonpurplegirl good question.small containers need lots of water. i watered mine every day....usually in the evening after i got home from work. i'm in central ohio, so it's quite cooler here than where you are. you may want to water more often. the turvy's have holes at the bottom that will drain to prevent from overwatering. once you get a system down for a watering routine, let me know, ok? and GOOD LUCK. let me know how you do! thanks for the compliment on our videos. we're rookies here.

  • WOw, amazing, What kind of soil are u using, and what else is in there, manure etc? and are you using chemical fertilizer, if you wouldn't mind pls give what ever details you can, I would like to try this, but have never had success like you in such small containters.

    Any help appreciated.

  • @TheBushead I don't endorse any of these products, but I mix 1/3 Miracle Gro Garden Soil for Flowers and Veggies, 1/3 Miracle Gro Potting Mix w/ Moisture Control and 1/3 Bumpercrop. I sprinkle in a little blood meal and a little bone meal. I also crush up 2 egg shells and put them in the tomato soil. I am by no means an expert...there are a lot of better gardeners out there...that's just what I use. Most important - WATER DAILY. Small containers need regular water!

  • If you have access to it use fish guts and skin scales etc. and use it before you plant about 4 weeks or so really makes them plants very happy.. Something that Ive run across as a good soil enrichment...

  • Here's a thought to my last comment. I was talking in present tense. I forget it's winter and we are not in July, lol. Okay, so what 'did' you do with all those tomatoes then?

Man, you know it's a bit much when you see a video and think we are in a different season. Wishful thinking I guess :D

  • @starveil101 Wishful thinking indeed! Can't wait for warm weather myself. First, thanks for posting a comment. Second, I hope you are successul when you try growing upside down containers. The tomatoes were split 3 ways - Salads, Spagetti Sauce and Neighbors! We gave lots of them away because they grew so well. If you decide to post any videos on your success, let me know! Thanks again.

  • Inspiring!!! :) You reminded me of my Dad a bit when he gardened :)

My husband and I will be moving to an apartment with a balcony and I am excited to at lease try to grow a few plants upside down! Yummies!

BTW, you have a ton of tomatoes! Are you and your wife going to try and make spaghetti sauce out of them, or just eat them normal?

Glad I found your video, thanks for posting!

  • nice job u are awesome, that looks like alot of work

  • @dillon822 Thanks for the compliment but it's not that much work actually. you just have to water consistently. Thanks again.

  • I absolutely love your garden. I am currently stuck in an apartment in Sacramento Ca, and I am planning on getting a house this next month. I really love to start a garden soon and I was wondering how you made the hanging planters into home-made topsy turvys?

  • @Irishgirl41 First, thanks for watching and thank you for the compliment. I went to the Dollar Store and bought the plastic planters for $1 each! I cut a hole in the center about 2" in diameter and drilled six 1/4" holes for drainage. To keep the roo ball from coming out of the hole, i made a cut in a coffee filter and placed it around the stalk. It's that easy and inexpensive. If you end up doing a garden, you should post it on here. Let me know. I'd like to see your success story! Thanx again!

  • Technically those peppers are called Poblanos. They're Anchos when they're dried. Nice garden!

  • thank you for the clarification. and thanks for the compliment!

  • Peppers look good. Hey! Why don't ya just grow the stuff in the ground?

I had a neighbor grow tomatoes in pots, I showed him his big yard, said, "why don't you use your big yard, they belong in the ground. Anyway.. sort-of a joke now. Known 'em for 40 plus years, he'd just shake head.. I'd laugh.

    He's a city boy, I'm a cross of the country 'n city.

    ~peace~

  • Thanks for the comment....I think...LOL

  • Fantastic Video, i just made a Garden Bed

now thinking about this way of growing vegies

    thanks for the video post

  • You're very welcome and thanks for the comment. If you upload any videos of your garden bed, send me a link.

  • props homie i wish everyone grew plants

  • Thanks alot for the comment. I know I'm hooked now. Do you garden?

  • what type of soil do u use? your plants are unbelievable. :-O

  • first, thank you for the kind comment. I used Miracle Gro Potting Soil w/ Moisture Control, Miracle Gro Garden Soil, bumper crop, bone meal and blood meal. The key though, is watering...small containers = lots of water. Do you garden?

  • what the benefit of growing that way?

  • it is the first time i've attempted to grow veggies, and i saw some vids on youtube and decided it would be easier than digging up the back yard.

  • where did u get the plant

    stand from

  • I bought it at Lowes....BUT, it was not sturdy enough for the weight (they are typically made for flowers). I cut off the bottom and drove a piece of 3/4" rebar into the ground. It stuck up about 4 ft. I dropped the stand over the rebar and it works fine.

  • i have upside down pot and i used it for cherry tomato but it's snapped in half and died. how do i keep it straigh down?

  • Mine just grew that way. Some of the branches on some of the tomato plants got too large and threatened to break off so I put small bungee cords and twine on them to prevent damage....that's shown on one of my vids. Thank you for watching.

  • Very nice video again mate.

I was wondernig have you even thought of using a cane for the upside down plants so they have something to travel down. Duno if its worth it but might be interesting .

Would u let me know the best way to pick cherry toms off so they grow back as im not sure how to pick them i.e just the tom or the green spider thing on top of em or what lol. Vid for it might be nice if poss. Also a vid of one jalapeno plants as im curious to size in height when there fruiting

  • Thanks for the comments. Never thought of a cane....very interesting idea! I should have posted a vid on the jalapenos...we just went out tonite and picked a huge bunch of peppers cause we pickled them...I'll be posting that in a day or two. Thanks for checking out our video.

  • Do you use any chemicals to boost the growth of your vegetables, on them or in the soil?.

  • Once, about a month ago, I used Miracle Gro for Tomatoes. I added bone meal and blood meal to the soil. And I water once, sometimes twice per day. Thanks for looking!

  • What's "blood meal?"

Your veggies are looking great! What State are you in? I'm near Cleveland Ohio.

  • Holy Smokes! Look at your peppers! I've never had much luck with them, yet I keep trying. ... And your tomatoes! And...and .. and... Perhaps I'll try the upside down thing next year. Apparently it works! Great job.

  • If you do, let me know. I'd love to see how you do. I plan to do a square foot garden next year and I'm going to put in an irrigation system on a timer. Thank you for the comment.

  • Great Job! coming along nice everyone seems to be in the- just flowers stage- my watermelon and cantaloupe have some but the fruit should come soon!

  • Thanks. Hopefully, we'll all get bombarded with a bountiful harvest!

  • very very very nice
