Humanity defied a complete and Holy God, and since Holy can't mix with unholy, we actually condemned ourselves with our defiance. @mycatistigger I understand your perspective, and your questions are really important. Hell wasn't created by God to torture people. Hell was created for Satan and his angels (see Matthew 25:41). Because man walked away from God, the only way I can explain it is that by the time the afterlife hits, there are only two places you can be. One is with God, and one is without God. With God is in Heaven, and the only place you can be truly without God is Hell. God doesn't enjoy doing this at all, btw.

@mycatistigger You asked me why God doesn't end torture and suffering. I'm not sure you looked at any of the scripture that I've posted for you. God gave us a choice to love him or not. He gave us a choice to be in relationship or not, because there's nothing to gain in controlled love. We defied him, but He still made a way for us to come back. Jesus is God's grace and mercy, but God's mercy has a time limit. As long as you're breathing, no matter who you are, God loves you and wants you back.

If the only thing God ever did for us was sacrifice Jesus on the cross for us so that we would have a chance to escape our condemnation, then he's already done enough. Also, keep spreading the gospel and we should all keep testing ourselves as well to see if we still remain in the faith as the bible says in 2Corinthians 13:5. Make sure you are attending a Bible based church and not just a church that is fun, or plays great music. We need scripture most of all to gain a greater knowledge of the Lord.

@mycatistigger You have to go all the way to the beginning of the Bible. Humanity defied a complete and Holy God, and since Holy can't mix with unholy, we actually condemned ourselves with our defiance. God doesn't want us to stay that way, so he made a way to be reunited with him. The only way that works though is by truly believing that Jesus is God's son, and submitting your life to him. It doesn't matter if you're from Egypt, Israel, or Peru. If you don't accept Jesus, you're still condemned

But if we have any ideas which God doesn't like he will torture us for all eternity? And because of this we should worship God (or is it Jesus?) and tell him how great he is every day? @mycatistigger I understand your perspective, and your questions are really important. Hell wasn't created by God to torture people. Hell was created for Satan and his angels (see Matthew 25:41). Because man walked away from God, the only way I can explain it is that by the time the afterlife hits, there are only two places you can be. One is with God, and one is without God. With God is in Heaven, and the only place you can be truly without God is Hell. God doesn't enjoy doing this at all, btw.

@mycatistigger You asked me why God doesn't end torture and suffering. I'm not sure you looked at any of the scripture that I've posted for you. God gave us a choice to love him or not. He gave us a choice to be in relationship or not, because there's nothing to gain in controlled love. We defied him, but He still made a way for us to come back. Jesus is God's grace and mercy, but God's mercy has a time limit. As long as you're breathing, no matter who you are, God loves you and wants you back.

@mycatistigger Acknowledging that God is in control, allowing God to mold you, shape you, and love you, and loving him in return by being obedient and living for him truly isn't hard, and it's not terrible either. I'm not sure if you've had a bad experience with God or Christians in the past, but please, I urge you to really get into the scriptures and first find out who God is from God. Most of your questions have been about God's character, but you're missing true grace. Please read John 3.

wants people to believe in him, why does he hide the way he does? If God came up and said Hello, I world believe in Him/her/it. If Father Christmas came up and did the same, I would react in the same way. The only difference being that Santa doesn't burn people in Hell.

@mycatistigger The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. That's from 2 Peter 3:9. It's what I've been trying to tell you, that God doesn't want to torture anyone. This is where you're stuck, and I wish you could move past it. In regards to if God came to you and said Hello, look at what Jesus said in John 10:25. He said "I did tell you, but you did not believe"

@mycatistigger The only reason any of this is fact and not my own opinion, is because it is coming directly from the Bible. The Bible doesn't change, God doesn't change, and he's never wanted anyone to burn, perish, or be tormented. Torment is being separated from Him. He wants us to be united with him. Since I've told you, you now know the truth, but it's up to you what you do with it. If you want to investigate more, look for a DVD called "The Case For Christ". It's on Netflix if you have that

@mycatistigger If God truly didn't care about us, he wouldn't have been on this crazy pursuit for recapturing our hearts since the beginning. The entire Bible is a story of God revealing himself to men after they separated from him, and the ultimate bridge was through Jesus Christ. For your second question, yes, God knows when we're being fake with him. Matthew 6 is full of ex. where God cares more about our hearts than our actions. @mycatistigger Being taken care of by God doesn't mean that life won't ever be hard. If you read Romans 5:1-5, and seriously focus on the lyrics of this song, then you'll see that. If the only thing God ever did for us was sacrifice Jesus on the cross for us so that we would have a chance to escape our condemnation, then he's already done enough. Anything extra is way more love than we ever deserved.

@mycatistigger Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. That's from John 3:18. Read John 3:16-21 to get the full story. It includes that Jesus didn't come to condemn us, but to save the world through Jesus. So to answer your question, we're already condemned, but there's a way out that's already there if you'll take it.

Also, keep spreading the gospel and we should all keep testing ourselves as well to see if we still remain in the faith as the bible says in 2Corinthians 13:5. Make sure you are attending a Bible based church and not just a church that is fun, or plays great music. We need scripture most of all to gain a greater knowledge of the Lord.

Christ was the only one in flesh to live without sin. There are many people who will proclaim to be Christians who use the name of Jesus who aren't really saved. Please don't be afraid to seek God and see what you really find. He is just and hates sin. If we love our sin more than we love God then of course we won't want to submit our lives to him. Watch this movie "A Case for Christ." At least then you may be able to have some clarity from an atheists point of view.

It important to remember not to focus on others who may be hypocrites or flawed & really understand that God wants us to keep an account of ourselves. Sometimes the Lord will use a flawed or sinful person just like all of us are, & use them to bring about goodness to glorify him. I know that is exactly what he did in my life. A boastful person may not be walking in the ways of Christ. We shouldn't look to Christians for the way to act/be/live. That is what we have Christ for.

Of course his name wasn't (Jesus) there were no J's in old English, but that's semantics I guess. You and I are doppelgangers I've been borderline atheist most of my life and now I've found my way to Christ and I know peace and happiness I've never known.
Hillsong's music makes me reflect on God the father and his son and makes me joyful. Praise God even if you're pretty. :)

I don't know about others but i don't worship worship, i worship god, the only one i should look up to. Worshipping God is the very reason for my existence. No amount of great sex could ever fill my heart the way worshipping my Creator does. This one lowlife leader I knew use to wear a shirt to church that said ROCKSTAR on it. Fuck that shit!!! It i clear to me that all LEADERS want to stand out and be recognized, not god.
