  • LA MARATONDA!!!!

  • @disneymagic21 Caucus race is when a political party sets its candidate. this caucus race is a nod to the uselessness and blowhardyness of political campaigning.

  • Politics at it's finest.

  • Lord, I love those leaping fish. They just look so weird that you gotta burst out laughing whenever you see them!

  • 9 people will never get dry that way.

  • I burst out laughing at.. ROUND AND ROUND AND ROUND WE GO!

  • I love this kind of logic.

  • SO TRUE...

  • that's how i feel about school sometimes, "never a beginning and can ever be a stop"

  • I always wondered what would happen to the starfish.

  • Disney version is so much better than burtons!

  • @AcornsAndAntlers Agreed. But, just for clarification, Tim Burton's is technically disney. I normally just call it "the animated version" Or "the original"

  • @sighcantthinkofaname well i mean the original disney.

  • soundtrack for 2012.

well, unless the Mayans were right.

or maybe because they were right.

  • I always liked the dodo. :)

The original dodo is actually said to be a caricature of Lewis Carroll himself. If so, that just makes him more likable.

I like the purpley-blue color scheme in this. And the running lobsters. xD

  • I need to sing the whole song for a play. Why did you cut out so much?!

  • my favorite, but poor Alice getting stepped on...:( lol

  • Kinda want to get a group together to do this...

  • anyone want this 5.1 channel, new remastered version of darkside of the rainbow, 3 audio tracks, 2001 w/ echoes or alice on the wall synchs on dvd send me a message. real cheap.

  • This is for SOME reason one of my favorite parts out of that whole movie.............

  • @LOLAshleyNicole

    Mine too.

"Nonsense, I'm as dry as a bone already."

"Yes, but... *wave crashes over Alice*"

    LoL

  • "Round and round and round we go until forever more".... Love it! My favorite scene from my favorite Disney movie. They just don't make Disney films the way they used to...

  • @sweeetsxoxo thats an unfair comment in every way when you are talking about alice in wonderland...lol

  • my school is doing this for our school play the dance to this is fun and im an unbirthday party person with the march hare and mad hatter

  • The song makes me think of being in school, always doing crap and it never seems to end

  • im duck and king in my play....

  • I am the Dodo Bird :D

    In my school play!

  • i love The Dodo

  • Thank you everyone for warm words. This is the place you can see Alice online AliceWonderlandWatch[dot]info

  • "I started it tomorrow and will finish yesterday!" LMAO That always makes me laugh.

  • The Dodo was barely in the Tim Burton movie :\

  • No walrus and carpenter, or anything like the book characters, they got a few, not all of them.

  • @SwiftCracker the new movie was awful. there were no Alice "vibe" to it. it's just a pile of incoherent scenes followed by a crappy Narnia-like climax in the end.

  • @so true man, the film was just a bit dead and kinda crap

  • @Jenovav well the new Alice was actually not Alice in Wonderland. it was Alice Through the Looking Glass

  • @Jenovav Tim Burton seems to be doing a lot of that lately--ruining movies just to make them dark, while also making them incoherent.

  • yeah and he was an evil dodo....

  • I love the dodo!

  • Towels may be more efficient, but they are also much less fun.

  • hahahaha i love how he grabs the fire!

    ha!

  • *Warm Chuckle* Wickedly funny!

  • @MysteryAC

You mean we all win and get prizes?

  • did any of you know that Eric Idle was one of the singers in this (thought I would share that seeing as how I am a major Monty Python fan) and i do just love this song i once sang it during my lunch at school and my best friend sang along with me along with most of the 8th graders (i'm a 7th grader)

  • there should be a Caucus race every year

  • @droppedyourgaycards There is. It's called political elections.

  • @droppedyourgaycards lol sometimes my life seems like a Caucus race

  • @jace964 Mine too haha.

  • @jace964 lmao mine too !! thanks for putting this on youtube i do like to sing along to it. dont you wish we could all be so happy and sing running round and round hehehe

  • @jace964 Some here omg. LOL!

  • @droppedyourgaycards They have one every election.

  • @droppedyourgaycards there are, theyre called elections...

  • BEST part of the movie

  • @ProgDrummerQ What about Smoke the Blighter out or Painting the Roses Red?

  • i agree with CrispixKingdom. That's hilarious.

  • There are some severe political undertones here.

  • I wish I could understand them. I'm getting more things than when I was little, but I'm far from understanding.

  • this gets stuck in my head countlessly..

    god i love this song.

  • LOL What a fun song, indeed! I was humming this to myself just today!

"Nothing can be drier than a jolly caucus race--backward, forward, outward, inward, bottom to the top. Never a beginning, there can never be a stop!"

"Round and round and round we go until forevermore. Once we were behind but now we find we are be-"

Whimsical music, too! LOOOOOVE it! : )

  • though, alice is based on a little girl he knew.

  • @sickskills28 He wasn't high... and he didn't do it for his buddies... he just wrote the story for his nieces... they were 3... one of them was called Alice.. research before talking nonesense...

  • no.... as a matter of fact, he never got married and never had any kids or grandchildren... ¬¬ he fell in love with a girl called Alice Lidell and wrote the book for her (they were "FRIENDS").... research before talking nonesense....

  • @Jimendrix

well I have the 2 books: Alice in Wonderland and Through the looking glass. And the editor's note stated that... I did research. And I never sayed he got married or had grandchildren...

  • Well i study english literature, i have the two books and i did a research project about Alice and Carroll for a final.

Alright, you never said that, just for your info Alice Lidell was in NO way related to Caroll, they were friends, went on boat trips and she a model for his photographies ¬¬ when he intended to marry alice the friendship went to hell.

  • @Jimendrix Lmao there are soo many theories but who cares which one is right or wrong. Its an amazing book, this is an amazing movie.. lets just all agree to disagree and move on.

  • We started it tomorrow and we'll finish yesterday.

You there, stop kicking that mackerel!

  • I love that Dodo!

  • Lol. This song randomly pops into my head and torments me for days.... Last time it happened was in commerce. We were studying law.

  • LOL I saw this last night when i was baked and it made no more sense today than it did when i first saw it. Its still classic and silly, classic Disney was the best! Haha the black bird pushing Alice.

  • Looks like they're in Washington DC XD

  • I love this song for some reason. XD It's addicting.

  • Damnit....I love this song.Ha ha ha.

  • dam whats the song ;P

  • i love this movie i love the book 2

  • I always wondered why the ocean water looked really soapy, what with all the bubbles....

  • The soundtrack version of this song is missing a lot of the words, it's rather disappointing. :/

  • Anyone know the lyrics to this?

  • Yes. :)

The're quite easy to hear :S

  • They just went extinct and humans ate some dodo's too.

    more in wiki.

  • I know that by heart xD

Our school play was Alice and Wonderland and I was the dodo bird xD

    Beastliest movie ever.

  • This movie is so random! I love it!! XD It's like Disney got high, and just made the movie on all the messed up stuff he saw lol XD

  • You know it's based on a book, right?

  • lol I love that. I like what he says though, right when it ends. "You're never going to get dry that way! Start running!" *Wave crashes over them* lol

  • one of my favorite lines as well!

  • Was the Caucus Race in the original story a circular race as it is here? I recall it having no specific path to follow...

  • Well, in the book, the dodo tries to draw a circle, but it's not the best circle, so he says something along the lines of "the exact shape doesn't matter."

I just read the first few pages, and already I love it!

  • i can remember we all dressed for a friends bday as disney characters and i went as the Cheshire Cat and afew of us started singin this haha :P

  • me and my school are putting on this play haha u

  • this song is so niceeee!! I'm Italian, but I like so much the English version, too!!

  • Theres a casted parallel relationship here which shines an interesting light on some views of modern society. Its an important scene.

  • Lol!! When I was little I was like that looks fun lol! My friends and I did something like this once lol at the beach.

  • That's the point. They're all mad.

  • @Bandaney Mad? They're all insane in the membrane!

  • @Bandaney

I'M mad, YOU'RE mad.... It's only by chance or careful planning if you're not. >;)

  • It's also a lovely bit of satire. Think Caucus race as in political primaries and caucuses. Nothing could be drier (as in more boring). "There's never a beginning and there'll never be a stop" and "round and round and round we go until forever more." It's funny if you get it, but I supposed the humour gets sorta lost if you have to have it explained...

  • BINGO!!! American Politics at it best...or worst

  • It was based at the time on Britain's Caucus Races, with Carrol's opinion being that they are a waste of time. You can draw many parallels between the two with a bit of thought and a brief background in the history of politics.

Some examples you can draw from the original book is that at the end, everyone is pronounced a winner, there were no losers and everyone was given a medal. If they were ever tired of being in the "Caucus Race", they could sit out until they felt like coming back in.

  • this film is so crazy.. but hilarious !!!

  • The Italian version is just the best :)

  • Does anyone know where I can get this, I have the soundtrack and this part is largely instrumental in the soundtrack... >_>

  • I was in an Alice in Wonderland production based off of the Disney version. Played not just the Dodo, but also the Caterpillar. Fun stuff. lol

  • Is the dodo only in this scene?

  • Well, the version of Alice In Wonderland we did, it was this one. So, the dodo gets two scenes. In the other versions (which I read) the dodo only appears here and that's all.

  • in the movie i remember him appearing 2 times in this scene and one other when he helps the white rabit to get the "monster" out of his house ^,^

  • Yeah obviously Disney decided not to use the White Rabbit's servant, Pat. I guess they were trying not to introduce another character that was going to disappear pretty soon so it was a safe bet to use the Dodo. Quite frankly I like the idea of him using twice because he had a lot of personality in the movie.

  • No the Dodo "Helps" the White Rabbit get "Tall" Alice out of his house by burning it down, but the Rabbit helped arson his own house, and just as Alice was three inches tall and running away, the Dodo asked her for a match, even though he ended up using friction to start the fire.

  • LMAO i just got casted as the DoDo bird im a girl but they said i got it cause i was a storong and amazing singer so if anyone has ever played the DoDo bird and is a girl please Reaply and tell me allll aboute it! THANK YOU!!!

  • I just got cast as the dodo bird too!

Mine isn't a singing part though.

  • you cut out a lot of the song

  • well i did cut out a little bit but only when she was leaving the "race" ^,^ but you cant really hear it very well sooooooo i can load the whole thing if you request but i found that as a good ending spot

  • XDD you all can thank an old friend of mine, Melissa. This is an awsome vid and disney movies tend to rock my oppinion the first ones in a series usualy but thanks for the comments

  • I just realized that this represents our government living in luxuary while we get washed away, as they tell us we can do anything we want...

  • your reading way to deeply into this. its a children's movie. unless they wanted to insert subliminal messages for the kids.

  • haha, cartoons are all about subliminal messages...

these creators have really abstract minds.

  • dude this movie was all about messages. shrooms, hookas, and what not. you think that be so blatent to put those into a kids movie for no reason? read into it youll learn alot.

  • I've been hoping and hoping someone would poast this song!!!! YAY!!!

  • i am fifteen and i laughed at this!

that is why Disney movies are the best!

    they are timeless

  • Why is it so addicting?

  • I don't know...but I've got the mp3 on constant loop. Wonderful vid.

  • its like crack, you gotta get your fix every hour

  • aww i love this part so much! almost as much as the catapillar part :)

  • he is my favorite character from the movie.

  • Now I want to run a Caucus Race.

  • Me,too.

  • YAY im happy all of you enjoy it soo much i dont think thier were very many Alice In Wonderland so i posted it !^_^ and now it looks like thier is a ton more on check out what i have collected if you want and maybe ill load more things on someday ^_^

  • You gotta love the lyrics to this tune. There have been times where I'll start humming this song randomly.

  • This is one of my favorite parts of the movie, the dodo was so underused!! He was really a wacky sailor type of bird.

  • Lol - I didn't like him much. Trying to set the White Rabbit's house on fire was madness and Sparta at the same time! I mean - what was that dodo THINKING?

Oh. Wait. He is a Dodo.

  • if your confused at THAT... you should have seen the costume i got for my play. it was this weird captains coat with gold rimmed glasses and a rly itchy wig. i hated it!

    lol

  • the Dodo in the original book was based off of the author

  • Last time I went to Disneyland, a guy asked Alice how to do the caucus race and she started doing it right there. Now I know how to do it because of her!

  • Anyone know if i could find the ending in Alice in Wonderland, the one where she's getting chased by the queen and her armies through out wonderland? I love that part, and can't find it on Youtube ;(

  • lol in a rehersal a girl called it the cactus race...

thought id sjare it wiv u XD

  • haha i accidently did that too!

  • No wonder they call it a caucus race!

  • awesome :D

  • awesome :D

  • awesome :D

  • awesome :D
