  • Could you please upload this whole episode. I have cerebral palsy, although a very mild form. I would love to see this in its entirety. It would mean the world to me as I had countless operations as a child on my leg and eyes, and sometimes my "Today's Special" "friends" were my only means of escaping the pain. Please up[load this. Thank you.

  • @JaTraLu He can't upload it because (according to the description) it got recorded over.

I did not think that Phil's visit was particularly sad, but it was one of the most informative and educational. At the time, I had no idea that the overuse of alcohol could impact an individual so profoundly. Heck, I got drunk once at a party when I was 5. Somebody offered me a sip of beer, I liked the taste, and pretty soon, I was pouring myself glassfuls, and sucking on the keg. I had no idea alcohol could do that. However, butterflies and wishes were sad episodes.

  • "Buttons" was the one with Monkey Maze (and the moon, and Storybook Land, and the button factory). "Wishes" was the one where Sam found the unlucky Klopman Coin.

  • Add "Wishes" to that sad total, as Wishes was one where Jeff hoped to wish to be a real person, but ended up having to do the right thing by wishing his friends back to normal after they were foolish with their own wishes.

  • I don't understand why this is described as a "sad" episode. Really, this one has a happy ending to it, as Levi saves the day by helping Sam realize that Jeff, Jodie and Muffy are trapped in the elevator.

  • Man I have the oldest childhood memory of crying over a butterfly on today's special! Seriously!

  • The music in the end credits is stuff I have never heard before. It must have been appropriately written especialy for this episode.

  • Yes - this credit music goes with a song used in this episode. The main thrust of the song was "come share with me", with the ending, "You can live just for yourself / Hide your life upon yourself or / You can share with me".

Ben is the guru of this show!

  • @happy7117 Why, thank you! :-)

  • I so would love to see this episode. It is called Hello Friend, but the title is written in Bliss Symbols.

This episode teaches that people with disabilties have needs and rights just like anyone else.

The boy in the wheelchair has cerebral pulsy I think. His name is Levi. He comes to Jody's, Muffy's, and Jeff's rescue when the 3 get stuck in the elevator.

Not a sad eppie, but poignant.

  • This episode LiliFox commented was about BlissSymbols. Handicapped children use BlissSymbols talk to people. Remember the scene when Sam looked at TXL's monitor to see the BlissSymbols the kid was pointing at to help Jodie, Jeff and Muffy out of the jammed elevator? Of course, the day was saved. I remember that ep. Nothing to get upset about BlissSymbols.

  • This was one of my favorite shows on pbs in the usa I could sing the song for ever I would love to see more of this show like the first program of this classic 80 kids show

  • Actually it wasn't a sad episode per se, it was just about a kid who was handicapped and had to use one of those pictograph machines to communicate.
