  • Great music! If I remember correctly, Matt Gray went on to produce rave music in the early 90's.

  • 6:00 wilson ?

  • I love the LN series, and I completed 1 and 2, but always had trouble getting past the second last stage on 3 (the bit where u had to forge the key), so I gave up as a youngster. Thanks to Youtube these days I get to see the whole game completed in under 30 mins! Great work!

  • Last ninja 3 seems to be ALOT harder then the first, of which i had troubles with back in the day. This is much more puzzle and knowing where the stuff are, cuz obvisously you dont have time to kill them all since they seem to regen over time.

  • That "castle" level and "void" were my favs. Reyn did awesome job with music. Shame the controls were clumsy and fight system a bit weird (no matter what you do you can beat 3 - 4 enemies before you die). I guess its what made the game bit harder than LN1 and 2 since you had to pick your fights and fight only the enemies you had to.

  • I played Last Ninja II two decades before. I was a teen. However, I have not known about LN III so far. Or did I forget? Hopefully not, that my dementia is getting me already... I have been playing games on computer for more than TWO DECADES now! Wow....

  • OMG reminds me of my childhood...me and my brother sitting ad waiting for the game to be loaded...haha with no game guide and no website to find hints we managed to finish this game! a little trick! if you open you joystic and push UP and DOWN at a same time, ninja will scroll in the scene and by this way u can pass the fence for the exit gate without any troupl in the Dungeon mission....yeah no need for key and blower! cause blower will be miss if you game over in that mission.

  • System 3 were fantastic, i loved all their games even Bangkok knights, i agree with inphanta my personal favourite was last ninja 2 but they all rocked.

  • the ending rocks..the music in this game is very good....i love this game..thanx 4 posting this...

  • super geiles Game!!! C64 KULT PUR

  • meraviglioso!!!!!grazie per questo capolavoro!!

  • i have followed u in all 3 LN :). LN3 was a bit hard for me so finally i got to see the end. What is happening in the big boss battle? Are u lobbing shurikens at eachother or is it an exploit?

  • I'm reflecting his shurikens back at him, only way to beat him.

  • I quite like the music in this version.

I remember though that there was a major glitch for those who bought the tape version as opposed to the cartridge, where you couldn't actually gain access to the bellows... HEAVILY ANNOYING! It's good to see past that now, even if it took 16+ years!

  • I remember reading that the game was rushed and System 3 were not happy with the end result. Yep the AI was shaky and there were quite a few glitches but still a great game. I have all the music on my ipod, brings back great memories. Armakuni rules.

  • The worst part about the game is the level design.. the way the screens are connected.

    It makes no sense.

But still, enjoyable game.. only nowhere as good as the previous games in the series.

  • @laffer35 I played the first one hours and hours on, never beat it. I did beat the second game though and it fealt so graet! Really epic and watching them now you get where they get their ideas from for games like Zelda and the like. They are very much the same, reflect the balls back at the enemy and explore areas. They did get it right with The Last Ninja.

  • In finnish computer magize this a on fronpage... THE LIMIT OF C64 = Last Ninja III

  • I watched all the Last Ninja post you made and I'm impressed. These games plus Airborne Rangers, Project Fire Start and a few others are why my C64 is still in use to this day.

I have to say the the original LN is my personal favorite. It has the best music and I like the Japanese garden feel to the backgrounds. And the most important thing, the bad guys don't

come back to life after you "kill" them like in 2 & 3.

  • Never played LN3 but it's easily the worst part in the series. Stupid AI, repetitive level design and mediocre music.

  • The AI was never good but you're right, it's worse in LN3 than in any of the other ones.

The level design isn't that repetetive I think but it's very confusing. It's hard to explain but the screens do not connect logically.

    The music is good though.

  • @Corbon440

In overall, I prefer the music in Last Ninja 3 over the other games. Nothing beats the original theme (level 1) from the first one though.

  • @nvbrkr : I could not agree more! The music for the whole game as a whole is pure entertainment. Fantastic stuff.

  • heh, this takes me back. saw this in the computer store 16 years ago, not knowing it was out, bought it, made it til level three, never made it any further:( thanks to the uploader i now know what i missed, WTF is up with the last level, ninjas in space??

  • I bought this game the same week it was released, but I only got to the third level before my ol' C64 broke down. Now I finally got to see how it ended. Thanks!

  • Where did you find this out exactly? I haven't seen any yet for the americasn

  • The only Last Ninja game I didn't finish.Of course my version had a bug so once you died some objects just disappeared and it was impossible to go to the next level, the void.

  • Oh yes I remember the bug. Still, I did manage to complete it though, you just had to go through it and not die (which wasn't easy, but it was possible). Great game overall though, but Last Ninja 2 was my personal favourite.

  • Yes LN2 was really awesome and a milestone in gaming. Last Ninja 3 took way too long to develop and should have been out in 1989 already in my opinion.

  • Seeing as Commodore 64 games have been announced as being able to buy over the Wii's Shop Channel I just pray this will be released!

  • Very Nice, I love this game!

  • The first two games were better .Better music but the intro in this game was pretty damn cool! They cant seem to create games with atmoshphere like they used to and i have very fond memories of these games.Thank you who ever you are for putting these games on you tube!

  • No problem :)
