Lulu is still in fine voice and can deliver. One of the best songs from the sixties which had so many great songs; better than any other decade. So, that means this beautiful tune has a lot of competition. Bless you Lulu for recording this and still being here to perform it once again!
I have been having this song in my head for about 6 months . Everytime I am down or lonely , I play it. It always brings a smile to my heart! Lulu is amazing!
so this is beutiful music and woderful voice of LULU I,m so glad she still singing she is so great singer thanks ecoNpapa for this video first time I ever heard it was in New York city walking in manhatan with my pocked radio just wondering in the beutiful spring time 1967 and I realy enjoy the movies of "To sir with love" and the time pass by so fast but the memory still in my mind I love her voice good preformance of LULU love it God bless you .and tank you !!.
I was a freshman in high school when I first heard this song in 1967. I fell in love with it then, and I still love it now! It brings back memories of simpler times, when feelings were strong, and friendships were lasting. In the fast paced world we live in today, one has to sit back, and remember life, when you were truly living it. Take time to listen to this song, and ejoy it with someone you love!
@LilChuckyWoodenHead Judy Geeson was the one who played the "smasher." I think you're correct. But we all know there is more to being a smasher than just the way you look. Judy was lovely, but it's Lulu who belted out this very evocative song.
This song will endure as long as school endures! It encapsulates the adolescent maturing and the crush all children feel for a teacher or two. A classic song with beautiful lyrics beautifully sung like only the one artist on earth could sing and do it justice - lulu.
Its not at all about 'the relationship she had with her teacher'
It is the title song from the movie To Sir with Love which she was in, staring Sydney Poitier. It was Judy Geeson's character not Lulu's who was in Love with 'Sir' albeit all loved and respected him for transforming them from 'orrible oiks' to mature adults.
NOTE: To Sir with love original london version - not the later TSWL 2 set in the US and a bit crap not least for the lack of Judy Geeson and lost teh 60s iconography.
Always had a crush on Lu Lu. Very sexy lady. Last time I saw her she looked sexier than hell but I think she had alot of work done to her, however, she I would take her out on my dime anytime.
I just love her and DUSTY, CILLA BLACK. PETULA, HAZELL DEAN. and I can't remember the name of artist of who recorded "THERE'S ALWAY SOMEONE TO REMIND ME" b4 DIONNE WARWICK,

I met Lulu several years ago at the BBC in Birmingham. She asked me if I'd carry her suitcase. I waited with her 'til her taxi arrived. i was kicking myself because my wife was waiting inside. If I'd been on my own Lulu would have been in for a good night!
I absolutely love Lulu! She still has it! I am going to ask wmji radio about bringing her over for the annual "Moon Dog Coronation Ball." Its a very big yearly oldies concert in Cleveland, Ohio. People literally come from all over the world to see it. She would go so well with Peter Noone.
lulu, dusty, pet and sandie shaw, god they were very sexy girls, never really appreciated them as a kid, but now i'm an old man, really love there voices, and still find them sexy
Oh Lulu, you were my first two white girlfriends, you and Judy Geeson;on TO SIR WITH LOVE, you made me feel, that as a black man, that I could be sexually attractive, to the white female..It made me, AS BOLD AS LOVE.Thanks (smack).
jane ,meljaxon. ladyheather . torndenim. casters.passasmoke. debbie and sue and lisa and carol and karen and linda and steph and all the girls in the office sing the form to boot lulu out xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxhello luluwasrudetome your lovely xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxlove the office girls xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
I kind of wonder whether Lulu was a bit under the weather during this performance. Her voice doesn't seem quite so clear as other times I've heard her, and it seemingly lacked some emotion. Maybe it's just me, but I think I've heard so much better from her.
your right, she was on American Idol last year and her voice was way better than this version. although we can't take that away from her since she is LuLu and there is only one of her. we all have had better day's at the office so I will give credit when credit is due. I can just imagine some idiot saying LuLu is all washed up and such, but hay, this is 2008 not the summer of 67' so let's say the "lady" has come full circle since that summer. I was 15 when I first heard her song on the AM dial..
I also say "you're right"...I think this vid is from the 1990's and it seems Lulu's been on a steady rise since, she seems to have recreated herself quite well. This particular video looks quite like a coming out of retirement performance to me!
The point has been made clearly! This version looks previous to Lulu's upsurge which I think happened in the mid to late 1990's. Her consciousness here is not as broad as what we're used to seeing these days, more like a soccer mom out for a nightclub date. There's a big transformation evident in her interview in the Dusty Springfield documentary from 2000 or so...if you take the trouble to listen to (and watch) it!
Lulu is still in fine voice and can deliver. One of the best songs from the sixties which had so many great songs; better than any other decade. So, that means this beautiful tune has a lot of competition. Bless you Lulu for recording this and still being here to perform it once again!

I've always imagine Sidney Poitier banging her brains out while she is screaming this song out..
LULU: "What can I give you in return?"
SIDNEY: "Well baby let me turn down the light and think about it"
Yeah... this song is about jungle fever.
:-)
Just kidding.. I love this song

Some folks just get better with age. LuLu is a perfect example. Great Genes
And yes.. some movies just absorb you into it. And then there is the music!
This is a great movie but I can never imagine it without the great score "To Sir With Love"

I am a great fan of LuLu but when you look better at 60 then you did at forty it has nothing to do with genes. And I am not talking about Levis.
