  • @GaaraDarkLover

Long live Tae Kwon Do! :)

  • @eubasaban oh yea! *high five* I just got my 1st degree black belt in december :3

  • It was good, but the side kicks and front kicks look wierd, like the leg in straightened to early

  • Hreat !!!!!!

  • nice jop mate ... but after u finish the video how could i make this controllers lines disaper pleas replay

  • no lo termino que por queria =(

  • Very accurate animation depicting the koryo poomsae. May I know what dan are u?

  • @pbzkfdt11

Thank you kindly. I am a second Dan Black belt. Though i stopped grading around 2 years ago but still train passionately. I have been practicing Taekwondo for 15 years now

  • Im an aniamtor my self by use 3ds max and im just moving onto maya :D

Im in love with all your character animations, Im facinated with aniamting characters, but so far im terrible.

I can animate the hand mothions though *chech my profile to see what i mean*

anyway i look up to you and VERY VERY VERY NICE animations :D

  • Thankyou so much! You are very kind to suggest it was motion captured. I did it from scratch..but I am a black belt my self...My master said it made all the same mistakes I do when I perform the Koryo Poomse hahaha..Thanks again my friend :)

  • This is kung-fu, isn't it? =)

  • It is a Tae Kwon Do form named koryo practiced at the first degree (dan) Black belt level. Though all martial arts have some root in Kung fu so in some shape and form I guess it is! :)

  • @behappy145 Most kung fu (chinese) styles are a lot more flowing and less rigid I find

  • he is the ultimate

  • nice animation of tkd 5/5

  • Many thanks! Much appreciated :)

  • not bad. it would be awesome if you could have finshed the form.

  • Thankyou for watching and taking the time to comment :) Yes I know I should have seen it through!

  • good job man the moves are really interesting and well controlled it looks like you have studied martial arts.

  • Thankyou friend your comments are much appreciated. I have been practising Taekwondo for around 14 years now and it certainly helped in doing this piece.

  • super,yééééééééééééééééééééé

  • Thankyou kindly!

  • thanks :) eubasaban

  • yo very good ;))

  • Thankyou friend best of luck with your alien project!

  • taekwondo form. rly cool.

  • Many Thanks! Yes TKD has many merits aside from physical training it helps me structure and bring discipline to my animation I owe a lot to it!

  • it's really great but it looks like a ballerina sometimes XD

  • Ha ha Hey thanks man!...Yeah I tried to go for strict form and clear moves with it...No bad thing since Ballerina's have that grace and control... but I guess I lost some of the sharp snapy feel of some of the execution!

  • I also agree with the ballerina look sometimes. That is because the hips and legs are not positioned right. Beginners in martial arts do that often! lol

  • Thanks for taking the time to offer your feedback - It is appreciated. I do however differ to your observation regarding the correct position of the hips and legs. I have studied Taekwondo for 13 years and have complete confidence in the shapes. For me the timing and transition gives the balletic effect. That said I do, however, appreciate your feedback it is noted!

  • its great. but unfinished. please do another with a human doing the koryo.

  • Thankyou sir. Your comment is highly appreciated. I would love to animate some more poomse when I get the time...unfortunately I don't have a decent human model to use! Thanks again!

  • This is a great pass for a first try with a 3D rig. I do find that having any animation experience helps a little bit when transitioning to 3d character, but I have yet to pull off something as nice as this. I myself practice tai chi chuan and gong fu. I could tell by the precise choreography that you knew what you were doing. I'd love to see more of your work.

  • Hey thanks for the kind comments!

Yes the fact that I was already an experienced 2d animator and martial artist helped me a lot with this. Wow Tai Chi Chuan! Well I'll look forward to see you make that interesting rendered character of yours do some of those moves they are very impressive! Nice effects reel also my friend, Thanks again!

  • Great animation! I did feel that there was something not right with it, but then again, I don't know much about martial arts aside what I seen on TV. I'm going to do a martial arts animation later on in one of my animations which is on hold. How long did it take you to do this animation?

  • Thanks for the feedback...The piece took a couple of days...Yes There are a few problems with it...It was one of my first goes at animation in the computer...Plus the model wasn't very user friendly with it's awkward ball and socket style- it made getting certain poses look weird like those old action man toys...Thanks for watching-I look forward to your MA animation!

  • I plan on picking up that animation in mid summer once I get the one I'm doing in Animation Master. Most rigs in my opinion when they are made from a tutorial, it don't look right. I did a rig which I got out of the book called Game Character Development in Maya by Antony Ward and I ran into problems while animating it.

  • It's great that your learning the whole lot... Although I complain about the rig... I cannot build one half as good... I just animate...Jobs are divided according to skill set, but it's certainly worthwile to have a great all round knowledge...Best of luck with it!

  • I like to have a job where I can just animate though myself. There are companies where they like the person to do everything. When it comes to rigging, I still use a book cause there are some techinical things when it comes to rigging fingers, feet, and so forth.

  • hey man, where's the rest of the pattern? really good - it's my pattern at the moment

  • Thanks man! Its always good to recieve feedback from fellow practitioners!...Yeah It turns out I animated more then enough for what was required... Also as I was new to Computer animation at the time I found doing the whole thinkg rather awkward maybe I'll finish it one day!

  • This is hot! How did I miss this one? His friggin technique is better than mine!

  • Hey! Thanks man! So are you a bretheren of the martial arts??? I'm guessing you are anyway from your splendid understanding of action!

  • I trained in kickboxing/ Karate for about 6 years. Stuff started getting in the way, so I had to drop it, but I plan to start practicing again...someday. Do you practice MA?

  • 6 years...Thats long enough for it to be in your blood my friend! Yep just as the pattern in my video above suggests I am a practitioner of Tae Kwon Do! I find MA helps bring balance to my life including work. It's funny I can't imagine life before it!

  • Yeah, MA will always be a passion. Tae Kwon Do! sweet! I was obsessed with TKD before I found my school. Growing up watching Norris & Van Damme, I really loved the sweetness of the kicking techniques. MA really does change you, not just physically, but emotionally and psychologically. I was always the quiet kid in the back 'til I started training. Training gave me all kindsa self confidence. I'm just mad I waited so long.

  • how do u animate like that with the cg arts and the...yeah...

  • Hey! well first I work out my main positions called keys and then I keep breaking down the actions between them untill It works as well as I can get it to!

    Thanks.

  • lolol i was pulling your leg the whole time!i like it and is good but the other guy is right it looks like his ball are gonna be smashed.

  • Hey! I enjoy all types of banter! I'm glad you think it's good, but even if you didn't at least this time round I know why! I hated the ball and socket style character... I didn't design and I agree it does kinda spoil the animation!

  • not bad man, only issue i have is it looks like the dood has same crazy ass balls under his underwear thing, maybe smooth it out a lil? lol

  • Hey thanks man...I didn't model the character but I agree the design is pretty lame...I am not a fan of this ball and socket style rig,it effects the kick poses etc... but I can't complain too much because I can't make the models.

  • i dont know wat the others are saying, but i think this isnt bad at all. good stuff.

  • Hey thanks man! Most of the comments are either constructive or positive. I appreciate them all including your addition!

  • fuck you i hate you goto hell

  • omg u suk your not a good animatior you f*!@^&* suck

  • Ahhh good to see you have added more of your precious time to visit my page and offer some more highly intellectual critique. I'll try take it on board. Thank you kid!

  • this sux!

  • Thank you for your feedback. It is extremely satisfying to know that my work has wasted 41 seconds of your life and amusing to see that the result inspired you to comment. Thanks again!

  • no esta mal amigo¡¡¡ vuen travajo

  • wow this is awesome great work, dude

  • Thank you!

  • nice, well done

  • Thank you sir your comment is much appreciated.

  • what program is that?

  • This was done in a program named Maya.

  • How much did you have to pay? $400?

  • It does cost a lot, but I believe you can download a practice version that has a watermark on it. There are great free rigs you can download to.

  • Good job, but, where are the Kiaps? You should try to find a sound file for them.

  • Hey thanks a lot Your approval is appreciated!I only Kiap when I complete this form and I never finished it in the animation...

  • great animation.can u able to send me the key poses

  • Thank you kindly. It's been a long time since I did this & I no longer have the rig. The keys are evident in the animation as the character holds on the extremes of each pose before and after execution of the technique. The breakdowns are also the extreme midpoint between each movement. I hope that helps!

  • this is so cool... im only 5th gup

  • Hey Thanks a lot... levels and experience in the martial arts are all relative ... In my opinion It's the training thats important...

    Good luck with it!

  • ^^ nice, i used this to train a bit since i have a grading in 10minutes... friggin nervous

  • Thanks... glad it was of some use! best of luck with the grading...I'm sure it'll be fine!

  • how did you make that?

  • I animated this using a 3D package called Maya. The character was built and designed by other artists. 3d animation has specialist areas, though there are some great all rounders out there... I'm just an animator!

  • eusaban. Black belt charachter by a black belt animator...please don't beat me!!

  • Thank you good sir!

  • thanks man. yeah i think you got the 1st 10 15 moves in. i like the move where at the end you go for an elbow then into a back fist and then punch. anyway looking forward to you making more

  • this is ace man, i am learning this now, i have a black belt grading in 2 weeks time and this is an excellent piece of work, please make more tkd pattern videos

  • Hey thanks man!If I get the time I'd like to do some more patterns... but as you probably noticed I didn't get to finnish this one!Hey good luck with your 1st dan grading!

  • my favorite poomse done by a cyborg alien...how odd...nice job.

  • Thankyou your very kind...he's actually a Tiger type man creature, but hey I didnt design him! Thanks again!!!

  • hmmm good black belt tkd form,,,,,
