I had lady since I was 3 then she passed away at the age of 16 due to heart failure and kidney failure. Then my other one, Maggie passed away from cancer recently at the age of 10. Plus her hip broke which is common for their breed. But overall if you want one, They're amazing. xD

Although I'd be willing to admit that the German Shepherd may justifiably rank as the most "versatile" breed ever, it is absurd to say that any one breed is the "best dog breed" ever. It all depends on what you are looking for in a dog. If you want a guard dog, get a Rottweiler. If you want a gentle loving family companion you can't go wrong with a Golden Retriever. It's not a "one breed fits all" world we live in. I've had a Golden Retriever, a German Shepherd, a Doberman....all great dogs.
