I reckon this is a really well thought out manga cause a lot of people critisise how kei is a bit of a dick for a lead role how katou doesnt manage to save well pretty much anything and the fact that it doesnt discriminate age or gender ( i mean the killing..) the fact that the mangaka madde such a bold statement of this because if this were real these alien things wouldnt give a fuck and it doesnt matter who you are you can die and no one can save you but yourself <3

The manga is still ongoing actually. The anime version is incomplete. In the latest chapters Kurono is trapped in an alien ship that invades the earth. He got surrounded by about a dozen giant sized aliens  and killed them all oh theres two Kuronos now which means twice the mayhem lol.

Gantz and Elfen Lied both use gore, and pure shock value to achieve their greatness. Gantz is gorier, has better characterization and a more interesting story line. Elfen Lied is equally dramatic if not more so, it has less gore although it has more blood. Elfen lied's drama is created by showing shocking cruelty, but gantz does a better job at building suspense, and a little more action. Both are superior anime. If you liked one, you will surely like the other.

at the time when kishimoto was about to get raped, kurono was still more of a pussy than kato. only when kishimoto leaves him when he gets mad at her does kurono uses that frustration and becomes a bad ass for the 3rd mission and gets laid as well. in the manga, he becomes even more of a bad ass in future missions than he was at the 3rd mission.

The fallowing mission after the temple aliens delt with dozens of childen being sloughtered wile in school....Gantz's missions start bringing in HUGE innocent casualties and the act of things like school shooting or otherwise student dismemberment is far too unwise to put on TV....they would piss ALOT of people off doing that so thats why they ended it. We can always hope for OVAs but thats about it

I would not say that the anime is awful in comparison to the manga. I mean, the anime pretty much followed the manga...until that last "made-up" mission, that is. A lot of people complain about that "made-up" mission, but I see it as the anime would have ended on a cliffhanger either way. If it had followed the manga all the way up to Episode 26, it still would have been a cliffhanger because the manga would still be going on. The "made-up" mission was the writers trying to properly end it.
