You must be close enough for the weapon to make a successful hold up. Probably close enough so that the tip of your weapon makes "contact" with the target. You can do hold ups with ANY weapon. Even sniper rifles and rocket launchers / missile launchers. =)

@WARDOG325 Just adjust your camera generally to the back of the guy and press L. Pressing L before you get close to him will not work.

@WARDOG325 oh anotehr good idea which i always use cuz i ran into the same problem as u is wen u do ur hand to hand combat tht 2 punch and kick combo will knock them down but not otu wne the kick wipes them out stand over them and then point ur weapon but do it quick

Yeah, it's automatically "given" for the mission. Also, you can acquire the design specs doing Extra Ops 35.

That's ok too. But I doubt you'll get quality soldiers from this mission. The A and S class soldiers are on some other ones.
