I'm no fanboy to anyone, but come on...that interface was not designed with touch in mind. It's a mouse based interface that, as it happens, is capable of being touched. If there's one thing you have to hand to Apple, it's that they've been really successful in designing the iPhone/iPad interfaces completely around touch. Touch in W7 just feels incredibly tacked on.

Windows seven is a copy of snow leopard :) and iphone device system.

Finger marks all over a screen? Shoulder RSI from holding arm up? (Ever tried it?) Isn't a track-pad just a miniature representation of the screen that's much more convenient anyway? This looks like a step backwards but no doubt people will clamour for it because it's new.

It;s more intuitive. Naturally it isn't supposed to replace a mousepad, but the mousepad isnt 100% reliable. I find the cursor bouncing all over the screen and as I type the insert moves around and the pad is very small. For drawing, playing simple games, and organizing information, touching the screen is much more intuitive. It makes sense.

In the school that I go to EVERY classroom has a smartboard, meaning it has a touch display. The fact that W7 uses multi-touch might be a reason for our entire school to upgrade to W7 and finally leave the decrepit XP. Also, we probably will see some really cheap monitors coming out that have touch screen capabilities. Even if they aren't too practical people will probably still buy it for the heck of it. Just like how some people buy those quarky USB fans, it's cool.

One i think its pretty cool but I agree i would get tired both physically and mentally for the simple fact that i can see it serving no purpose, unless i was a art major or using autocad or something if they do that to macs i'll be pissed. Second i am glad to see windows finally fixed vista i like it better then xp but wouldn't use it over xp. Windows 7 comes out around the same time as os-x snowleopard. Both are just more refined OS
