  • ernie never fails to make me laugh :)

  • Ernie forgot to put away all the toys comprised of two pivoting sections.

  • @Cuteblondie1972

    Yes it is!

  • I think Ernie messed up around 2:11, he said FLIER engine instead of FIRE engine..

  • @Akhilendra2010

I did not notice that. I will probably watch it again to see if I can catch it.

  • I could be wrong, but it sounded like Flier to me.

  • @Akhilendra2010

Now that I have watched the routine again, I see what you mean.

  • @Akhilendra2010 I caught that, too!

  • I love how Jim has Ernie say "Here's a (blank) toy" in the same tone

  • Did you notice that Fisher Price bear that cries over their?

  • Yeah Ernie, and after you do that I'm going to have YOU put away, HOW ABOUT THAT????

  • Raise your hand if you think Ernie did this on purpose!

  • @colleen4ever Well, knowing Ernie...

  • @d72jjpilc Anything to get out of chores. Hee,hee.

  • You know what, If I were Bert, I would have not explained that to Ernie. He DOES NOT need to be pampered. 1st of all Ernie is waaay too damn old & stupid. Bert is like this guys lanlord or something telling him to "Pick up your toys, Ernie" WTF is that? And the MOST ignorant part to me is when Ernie scratches his damn nappy dandriff hair, all of a sudden.

  • I remember this, especially the 'horn-like' music at the beginning of the clip which indicates 'We've got a problem here..' Anyway, it was a problem, and Ernie (as almost always) had a very creative way of solving it, albeit much to Bert's dismay!

  • "If I could just group these toys into groups, then I'll put away a group of toys. How about that?"

  • Hehe. You gotta love bert!

  • From 1971.

  • There are some interesting analogies between this and the ridiculous overly complex practices people use to design software before writing it.

  • love this....havent seen it in years TYVM

  • Lol Bert said "Good...yeah...eh.....yeah...".

  • The pink dog toy looks a bit like the dog from Fraggle Rock.

  • To be fair Ernie, that trombone is ALMOST as BIG as the fire engine.

  • Of course it never occurred to Ernie to make more than one trip between the toy box and where he's standing now. LOL

  • Or maybe it did?

  • Here's a segment when a boy is afraid of the dark the toys come to life and the boy conducts a symphony.

  • I LOOOOOVE this opening music!! I've been hoping someone could find this and post it, it's one of my favorites.

    Thanks a bunch!!

  • You've gotta love Ernie logic. :D

  • This segment kind of represents how our government solves problems!!

  • Valid point indeed!

  • @chambert

or "FAILS" to solve our problems.

To Everybody that thinks BO's forced healthcare is a good idea, please finish this sentence:

Everything the US government touches turns to ___?____.

  • @stratman250

    Toys?

  • @chambert

That is a very interesting way of seeing things!

  • Imagine all the kids who saw this and tried to do the same with their parents.

  • Thanks for posting this jonnytbirdzback. I've wanted to see that E&B sketch for a long time. I love how Ernie acts like he's putting alot of toys away when he only puts away the fireengine.

  • Another classic! Interesting how Ernie keeps picking the characteristics of just one toy--the fire engine!

  • He does love his fire engine. ^__^

  • This could very well be the only sketch that begins with an ending music cue

  • Lol! I remember this one, cause this was the Spanish version of the truck engine.

That was around 1973 or earlier!
