  • i like that stove and oven you have in this vid and up here kero is easy to get and it stores good also as of now i have a small propane camping stove with the coleman oven and my bbq grill with the side burner we use durring power outages in the summer and winter we use our woodstove to cook on and heat our house with

  • Love this set up! very nice...

  • I don't find a wood stove at Harbor Freight. What's the item number? Maybe they don't sell it anymore.

Did you get or make a rocket stove? I have one in the works.

  • @originaLkomatoast The stoves are seasonal items. I'm sure they'll be selling them again in the fall. After I made the rocket stove video I stumbled across another cast iron cookstove. That one is a reproduction of a cookstove and it has an oven in it. It is very efficient. I'll try to make a video of it so that you can see how it works. You probably won't find one like it but you could apply the same principle to making a stove.

  • oven should work on the rocket stove!

  • Good to know. I'm in the Fuquay Varina area. I have a small farm and forever have had a garden and have canned the food I have grown. About 2 years ago I got a food dehydrator and that changed everything as far as putting up food. I still can food but I am learning to dehydrate about everything. I gradually slipped into becoming a prepper. You tube has been a help learning. I love channels like yours. Yours is now a favorite. I love seeing what you are doing next and thinking of.

  • Good to know. I have a feeling the solar ovens work best out west and now as well here in NC and surrounding states.

  • @Hoovesandpaws61 Right after I made this video I stumbled across a little cast iron woodstove with an oven. The woodbox is very small and the stove is very efficient. When I finish cleaning it up, I'll make a video cooking on it. What part of NC are you in? I bought the stove for $100 from a man in Coinjock and he has lots of stuff that would be useful to a prepper.

  • @imstillworkin I want one,pm me please...

  • HAVE YOU THOUGHT OF A SOLAR OVEN? I AM THINKING OF GETTING ONE. THEY SEEM TO WORK WELL IF YOU HAVE A SUNNY DAY.

  • @Hoovesandpaws61 I tried making a solar oven, it kind of worked. The sun moved across the sky faster than I expected and I had to keep moving it every 20 minutes or so to stay in line with the sun. It takes several hours to bake anything in those solar ovens. I might be okay with doing that once or twice but if I had to cook like that on a regular basis, I think I'd shoot myself.

  • Do you ferment your Tobacco? or just smoke it raw.

  • @ewetubesuxass It's the first time I've grown tobacco, a lady named Janet sent me the seeds. So far I've just tried some as is, I haven't tried fermenting any yet. It's not bad as is.

  • Them are beautiful stove . Nice choice

  • Until we're all together in heaven ( I pray that you have repented& follow Jesus) in eternity... you my friend will never know just what an impact you are having in my life & soooo many others. In your calm, wise way, you are helping us begin to mentally & physically prepare for things that may come soon. Going to look into those rocket stoves! My sincere thanks to you.

  • Do you have to prep the mop strands in anyway to use as wicks?

  • @BexarPrepper Nope. Just feed them though the holes in the stove and they soak up the kerosene and burn just fine.

  • We've heated our home for 5 yrs. with wood burning the stove. No heat bill , but my family has a lot of wood chopping to do. ( I dust more often) We've gone thru more wood this winter ! Buying "stay awake pills" from the drug store . No use storing up if we can't stay awake to keep guard. Also saving dryer lint for fire starter.

  • @cheesestr4wz The first 3 years of my marriage our only heat was a pot belly stove. I thought we were going to freeze to death and swore that if I ever got a house with heat, I'd never burn another log. I still have that old pot belly stove, we've kept it with us for sentimental reasons but I hope I never have to use it again. That one is so heavy I can't move it, that's why I bought the little woodstove.

  • Very nice oven... and the price seems reasonable too. Thanks for the tip!

  • @fletcher3913 I thought it was a good price too. The shipping was reasonable too.

  • nice

  • Another Good Alternitive is Empty Tuna Cans , Filled With Carboard Strips , With Pariffin Wax Poured into. This Means No Chopping Wood , No Charcoal Brickettes . And Just in Case the Propane and or Kerosene Runs Out . These Cans are Easy to Store , Easy to Make and Does Not Go Bad

  • @tracycolorado TNGun put out a video today where he made some of those can stoves. I want to make some of those too because it would help conserve on the kerosene and wood. I really don't like to chop wood. There's a tree in the background that I need to cut, haven't gotten around to it yet, lol. Any idea how long one of those cans will burn?

  • @imstillworkin I Have Used These Pariffin Fire Cans , in the Boyscouts for Heaters and to Cook on . One Lasted Me a Whole Year with about @ 12 Hours Use . These can Be Extinguished , by Smothering the Flame , and Reused , Over and Over Again . I Have Used ONE " Vegitable Can " Sized , in the Barbeque , Instead of Charcoal Brickettes . As by TNGuns Video , These Devices Puts Out Lots Of Heat .
