We are senior citizens and we are so disappointed in the system as it is. It has to change. The current system has run the economy in ground now President Bush wants to blame the current problem on the recent stimulus package. Get a grip. We need sane, young, healthy, educated, representation to help us rebuild America and that sounds like Barack Obama!
I dunno obama.......you and mccain both seem to be just big gov't collectivist and neither of you seem to be fighting for my individual rights or freedoms - You both truly represent everthing that is wrong with this great nation :ignorance and superficiality

It seems that no trusts the goverment anymore. Local, regional or federal it seems there is more rules & fees & less goverment accountability. We all hate taxes or do we?
You want the cop on the corner & your traffic light to work. You want your library open & someone to answer the phone when you call the goverment to complain. I don't mind paying taxes; I just want some accountability. I think there is to much waste & at the same time we are guilt tripped over our taxdollars.
If John McCaine wins this election, I'm moving out of this country and never, ever coming back. Because if he does win this election this country is going to go up in flames, and it's already well on its way to that right now. With McCaine's election, it's just going to be George W. Bush all over again, only worse.
My students who are IRAQI are THANKFUL for the US and has told me that they want the US to stay! The Iraqi government is meeting their benchmarks: 15 out of the 18 that were set, and they continue to work.
The US has trained their troops to the point where they now can fight against the Taliban, Al Queda, etc.
Give the Iraqi goverment time to work!!
Look at our own -they get NOTHING DONE!! Our congress could NOT function as well as the IRaqi's are doing!!
Taliban is in Afganistain, not in Iraq, therefore the Iraqi security forces will not be fighting them at all. And they are barely functioning. They have virutally no real political unity and have trouble even spending money.
Any of you double-digit IQ dopes who thinks Obama would change anything as the next president are in for a rude awakening. He's a corporate democrat in corporate-occupied Washington, DC. Big corporations run this country, not Congress; not the president. He will just be a slave to the corporate giants running this country. Obama you had no clue what would happen in Iraq, your opposition of the troop surge has proven that. Now you are trying to use it to your benefit. You are nothing but a typical politician.
If you're afraid of increased taxation, then prepare to be part of a country that will be in debt for eternity. Thanks to Bush, there is no foreseeable way to balance your horribly gargantuan debts without you having to open up that cheque book.
That's the thing about your nice Republicans and their nice low taxes, nobody pays for everything you need. Isn't it fun to be indebted forever with no responsibility?
for those of you wondering how hes gonna bring troops home, its something that anyone could of done, he goes to the pentagon and they make an escape plan within 2 weeks. then they'll all be back in 40 days at most. OBAMA/HILLARY 08
While Mr. Gramm is saying we working Americans are "whiners" & McCain is spinning what his surrogates said or did not say, Mr. Obama is giving us the leadership we need to keep hope alive until he's elected so he can put his working class agenda of job creation, healthcare, and American image repair in motion! Yes, I'm willing to sacrifice in the short term whatever it takes to make life for my country better in the long term! Rock on Obama!!
Whats the plan? What are your policies? You have great skills and a speaker but lets cut to the chase and put some policy behind the clouds of "smoke". I am fearfull of increased taxes and no answers to current issues such as rising energy cost. Whats your answer? Please people listen and judge not on "hope" but on Substance.
You know his plan: he will pull troops out of Iraq one brigade a month and deploy some to Afghanistan. How is that not a clear policy?
And as far as rising energy costs - why don't you ask Bush/McCain? Their phony 'war on terrorism' was supposed to provide a reliable supply of oil.
They have made the supply of oil LESS reliable, made the middle East more hostile to the US, spent 3 Trillion dollars (there go your tax cuts...), and sent thousands of American troops to their deaths.
If you don't know his policies and plans by now, then you have not been listening or reading...
You do me the same courtesy and tell me what McCain's policies are... I just watched his townhall meeting with the auto workers in Michigan and he said absolutely NOTHING!..
other than he can win wars... he could not string together a coherent thought process.. other than he knows how to win wars...
I am not even American and I have read all his policies on his website as a healthy American Economy (amongst other things) will bring about a healthy global economy. Check out his web
Hey e1wwamc~ Hey, You should try doing some research about his policies. They're very clearly laid out on his website, in some of his speeches, even here on youtube on facethecandidates. He argued his positions in detail in the dem debates, I'm sure you could find them. You ask Obama what his policies are as if he's going to personally answer you. Sorry to have to be the bearer of bad news, but you have to do the research yourself, I don't think he has time to get back to you.
educate yourself. his plan is clear, take troops out of iraq and finish the war in afghanistan. McCain on the other hand continually switches his plan. Increased taxes? Dont fall for the republican bs they feed you and check it yourself, Obama will look to reduce taxes for working class families.
The premise of your questions is that you are listening. You are not listening and are not sincere. You may disagree with Barack's policies, that I can respect, but you cannot say that you don't know what they are.
UnkleSi is 100% right. Bush has done a great job of messing up this country with inflation, a sufficient amount of oil, thus leading us into a recession. Millions of Americans have lost their jobs and it is becoming harder and harder to find new jobs. Obama better win, because he is the only way that this country will ever have a chance at restoring itself to its former state. If McCaine wins, this country is completely doomed.
barack obama wii win the election in november and he will be our next president. He is the next martin luther king, brack obama is what we need in the next presedent.
Here, we have a leader that wants to actually work for the American people and not for the Corporations..... we have a chancd to take back our America.... You must be that top five percent who pays NO taxes
Barak Obama has recently made a great speech at the University of Purdue and it is critical that he remains accountable for his nuclear nonproliferation platform if elected as the next US president. It is very important that the US public is aware about dangers of nuclear terrorism and the need for the United States to reduce nuclear weapons stockpiles.
I dislike most Democrats almost as much as as I dislike most Republicans, but I'm liking this guy the more I hear him. He seems honest and I hope if he wins, he keeps his promises.
Obama is a realist, unlike McCain. We can not afford to continue invading two different foreign country's, Afghanistan and Iraq. Let alone a 3rd Iran. Our country is not invincible and sooner or later the burden will be to much.Obama can end the war in Iraq and will focus on Afghanistan. Saving money for rebuilding our Health Care and Education Systems and many other government funded programs that could save our country from private interest groups like the Oil and pharmaceutical companies.
I agree that the 50-state strategy is the way to go. I live in a red-to-purple state, and it sucks to not have a choice when I go vote--Dems should contest every seat!
Go Obama, go! There was no link between 9/11 and Saddam Hussein. It's always upset me that we basically let Bin Laden run free since deciding to go to Iraq. Let's get out of Iraq and find the guy that masterminded the killing of 3,000 Americans! Obama '08!
I bought a ticket today to see you in Berlin! I'm so happy you come, we Germans are all excited about it, and I'm the most excited of all! :) News anchors proclaim, it will be an awe-inspiring and historic speech similar to the Berlin-Kennedy-speech. I'm looking forward to shout Yes we can and I hope you will have a good time, too. I hope, the world welcomes you with open arms on your travel. You bring hope to us, too.
How do you compete with a Republican television commercial paid for by wealthy contributors? By reaching out to everyone you know and talking to them face to face and telling them the cavalry is coming!
And by calling everyone you know in swing states, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, and Michigan and telling them that it's never been more important to vote to get America back on track.
I work in Saudi Arabia; I'm South African. I just wonder, given that most of the 9/11 convicts were Saudi nationals, why dint BUSH DECIDE TO INVADE SAUDI ARABIA!!!
Hell yea, he started with Colorado! Such a good deal. We'll win there and everywhere where people with open minds, fighting for a better future want the best of change for America.
I'm so glad you're spending your time and money talking about what you plan to do for this country rather than spending all your time and money on a mud campaign like your opponent.
Barack, just a question for you, as one of the most influential person in the united states, what specific strategy do you have to spread that influence to those who aren't Americans?
One thing is for sure, this country and the world cannot afford McCain-- cannot afford four more years of fiscal insanity (McCain wants to maintain Bush's welfare system for the mega-wealthy while continuing to spend billions on a counter-productive war), foreign policy rapaciousness and incompetence, and empty talk about climate change and an intelligent energy policy (McCain just got a zero rating from the League of Conservation voters). We need someone like Obama to restore sanity NOW.
What about progressives/democrat-suppoters like me who think taking out Saddam Hussein was very much needed, even if it did have to be George W Bush enacting it? Please don't abandon us, Barack!
I really hope Obama gets elected. It is, I think, the only person able to repair the US-EU relationship, which has suffered a lot under the current administration.
I also agree with him that the US could literally save the planet, by taking back it's roll as a worldleader, and moving toward renewable and clean energy sources. If the US do this en mass, the rest of the world will follow.
I hope there will be footage of Obama's public appearance in Berlin? Because I can't come to see it myself...
I wish Obama would visit Brussels and talk with EU leaders. As of today the EU is the worldleader on Global Warming, and it waiting for USA to join efforts.
Please support fathers rights and I'll vote for you. This might be a politically incorrect statement. As a voter I have a right to express my interest. I won't vote for same old politics.
Additionally, invest in positive stereo types of parents in the media for children. The family system is broken and is in need of repair.
I gotta tell ya, Obama actually makes a lot sense.
Sure, people will have their objections to him, but at least he is a candidate willing to discuss ideas or conflict of interests openly, rather then just silencing anybody that disagrees with a certain policy
"Sure, people will have their objections to him, but at least he is a candidate willing to discuss ideas or conflict of interests openly, rather then just silencing anybody that disagrees with a certain policy"
OMG!!hahahaha - Obama's YouTube channel censors ANY disent or discussion of issues?!?
I'm excited about a presidential candidate for the first time in my life.
I hate that he let the telecommunications companies off the hook, but love most of the rest of what he stands for.
I made a small contribution, and my girlfriend will also. Please invest a few bucks if you can, or volunteer. Anything to avoid a third term for Bush in the form of McCain. Gotta turn that page.
First edited video... I don't like this change in this speech method. I hope this isn't a sign of falsehood in his policies. Nah, it can't be... he's just tired. U can see it in his eyes. He's so tired of talking. That man works so hard everyday!
I think, Anyone from another country following the US presidential elections will agree that Barack Obama is a great chance for the United States to restore their reputation/honour and to correct mistakes from the past.
Thanks Obama - the people are with you. We need a leader that cares about our country's people & future. No more smash and grab leaders like we have now.
he seems like a nice guy. i lik his promises but i'm not sure that it can go through the senate/house yet due to the balance of republican/democrat balance there is unless he is able to convince 15-20 republicans to his side
Now thats the man that needs to be in power. Why are people so set on these republicans leading us to victory. All they have done is screw up the economy and make tax payers pay more.
With the president of Iraq stating that he agrees with the sixteen month plan, and the Iraqi military stand up it appears that both canidates are merging to an agreement on what to do in Iraq. It's ironic, Mc Cain's surge may become Obama's Victory.
Excellent message, Senator! Thank you. As one who has been an ardent supporter, I thank you for acknowledging the disappointment over telecom immunity, but more importantly, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for enumerating the tremendously important things we need to get on with fixing once you assume the Presidency in January 2009.
We are senior citizens and we are so disappointed in the system as it is. It has to change. I'm looking forward to shout Yes we can and I hope you will have a good time, too. I hope, the world welcomes you with open arms on your travel. You bring hope to us, too.
Bring home the troops.

If everybody in America joins the Obama campaign tomorrow, what can the Richard Mellon Scaifes of the world do to destroy the Democratic candidate?
Not a whole lot, actually.
Come join the party!
The 2000 election was close. The 2008 election might be even closer. You can make the difference!

The only problem I have with Obama...is his whole "Our kids have to learn Spanish" thing...
So,because the spanish speakers fail to learn english properly when they immigrate, the people of that country need to learn spanish?
If you want the Americans to learn a 2nd language, at least do it gradually.
d3hit 3 years ago
Spanish was just an example. Learning to speak at least 2 languages is a big plus.
If Europeans can do, so can Americans!

TheRealKiang 3 years ago

GoBama.

With the president of Iraq stating that he agrees with the sixteen month plan, and the Iraqi military stand up it appears that both canidates are merging to an agreement on what to do in Iraq. It's ironic, Mc Cain's surge may become Obama's Victory.
