  • Napoleon' s worst enemies were the British bankers. Anyone heard of the Rothschilds?

  • Napoloeon kept all his cavalry force under direct attack from the Russian artillery during this battle for no good reason.

They obviously suffered a lot of casualties and a lot of the cavalry were never even used in the battle.

His cavalry was all but wiped out during the 1812 Russia campaign/

and never really regained its strength which was to severely hamper him in later campaigns Why am I missing the signs of genius?

I think hes a dickhead to have done that.

  • it was a TRAP!

  • Can someone please explain to me why the russians praise borodino so much, this isnt like a negative troll comment im just really curious because this video was really lacking in actual information about the batte

  • @thedicklick1 It was a major moment where the Russians turned to fight the Grand Armee head on. They dug themselves in like ticks, fought like hell, and even though they lost the battle the Russian Army withdrew more or less intact to fight another day. Napoleon won, but it was a victory that haunted him- to him, the cost was too high even then, and the winter was coming...

  • @jodimest Thanks for clearing that up for me buddy :)

  • Never forget one Important thing.

    MOSCOW WAS NOT A CAPITAL!

  • Wow I've really upset lots of people, sorry. I didnt mean to upset anyone but stated my opinion. I think Napoleon was not that good sorry.

Getting every single country pissed off and ready to fight against you is definitely a bad idea.

No argument about he was a great general, he wasnt the best though.

  • @zenoist2 it pisses people off because your opinion is based on falsehood: Bonaparte inherited the scorn of Europe's feudal monarchies upon becoming consul. He defeated the first coalitions against the republic and tried to make peace ie: the treaty of Ameins which England broke. After Austerlitz he made Francis I swear to not attack again which Austria broke in 1809. At Tilsit he asked Czar Alexander peace and to not covet Poland, which russia broke by massing troops on the Polish border 1812.

  • @zenoist2 he wasnt the best but he was one of the best generals in military history . in my opinion the best general was alexander the great

  • @victinhoemn Alexander won 4 battles, napoleon more than 80

  • @spad57 the number of battles doesnt matter. what matters are the tactics and strategies

  • @victinhoemn but if you win a lot of battle it is because you are quite good , no ?

  • @spad57 you win those battles with good tactics and strategies

  • Napoleon could never be great because he would never admit his own faults.

Sure hes great when things are going well but when things turned bad In Russia he blamed everyone but himself.

A truly great man would acknowlege its his fault and take steps to fix it and overcome it.

Napoleon fails this test every time.

  • @zenoist2 wow look who is talking shit about Napoleon. Since you british really fought napoleon with every drop of Russian, Prussian and Austrian blood you could pay for

  • @FilipH86 Well all of them together didn't beat napoleon. But, as soon as Britain got seriously involved, the French were defeated in Africa, battle of the Nile, Trafalgar, peninsula war and Denmark. Also, without the British help the Prussians would have lost at Waterloo.

  • @FilipH86 Well why couldn't the 5 coalitions do anything until the Brits showed up. The mainland Europeans couldn't do anything without the Brits. Look up the peninsula war mate, and the major effect of Trafalgar, they were not minor like your ridiculous opinions of militaristic history.

  • @theathiestalaby first of all fuck you second of all you could ask why could not the british win against napoleon during the 5 first coalitions they were still at war with napoleon well because they choose to pay other nations to fight napoleon instead. and 3rd of all they could not do anything untill the brits showed up napoleon fell because of his invasion of russia and then the 6th coalition not because of england.

  • @FilipH86 Firstly, i love you too, secondly, the British supplied the other coalitions with MASSIVE amounts of financial support; without that support the rest of the European nations would have been fucked. Seriously mate, read up on your history about this, you sound ridiculous, i spoke to a french history lecturer about this once and he said that his view as was the views of many others was that without Britain in the war, France would still be an empire. Silly boy :P - so misinformed.

  • @theathiestalaby what are you talking about? leipzig the 6th coalition? it was the combined europe along with the russian disastre that defeated napoleon, not the spanish pain in the foot!

  • @boss180888 I didn't say it was the Spanish alone, but the British leading the Spanish who were outgunned and lacked the training of French troops.

  • @theathiestalaby In 1798-1799....The Russian Navy and Marines, Liberated the Greece from Napoleon, then the Russians liberated Naples and ROME from Napoleon.

  • @Mark123USA And? Whats the huge deal about that considering they were recaptured?

  • @zenoist2 i don't agree with you because he could bounce back after defeats land overcome failures he had. After the Russian blunder, Napoleon's pride the Grande Armee was no more. Even after sustaining such a crushing defeat he beat the allies at Dresden, Lutzen, and Bausen. But even Napoleon could not hoope to match the resources and manpower the allies could bear upon him. Prussia, Russia, and Austria had together over a million men by the time they invaded France

  • @capacopkilla123 if he was that great he should never have been defeated in the first place.

I know im giving an example of a legendary warrior and theres no comparision but Alexander The Great beat huge massive armies while being totally outnumbered.

Compare him to napoleon and napoleon comes off very second rate and a loser..

  • @zenoist2 yeah Alexander is very impressive. He's the only undefeated general that i can think of besides Suvorov in Russia. The key difference is however, Napoleon had all of Europe fighting against him (not a very smart tactic for him), and his decision to fight the spanish and british in the peninsular campaign wasted alot of his best troops when he could have used them in russia or elsewhere

  • @capacopkilla123 hmm i see what you mean but i still think napoleon was a loser.

    personal opinion of course.

what exactly did he achieve in Russia?

  • @zenoist2 he achieved only costly tactical victories. The Russians still had an army even when they lost moscow. They were also better equipped for winter warfare :)

I don't think he was a loser but neither do i think he was without faults.

  • @zenoist2 you are an ignorant about the personality of the emperor. Militarly he won, he beat russian army on the road of moscow in the only time they wanted to face la grande army loyaly. Napoleon took moscou. What did u want he make more!? pursue alexander in a huge country with winter s coming? The trueth is that napoleon has been one more time to kind with all these nations that he has beaten at each time before 1812.

  • one more time he stayed in moscow in the attempt of having an agreement of peace with tsar of russia. The tsar leted him beleive that he would offer him peace but it was only to make him trap in this trap that is winter. Alexander the grand faced with tribes some times, when napoleon had to face all the major powers of the world that was at that time concentrated in europe. And it was powerfull armys equal to grande armée in technology and most of the time inoutnumber and coalized against him

  • one more thing, when alexander the the great submitted a tribe the war against this enemy stopped. How many time napoleon have beaten austria, prussia, russia?

It was another affair. What did napoleon is epic.

  • @sanpodesta42 actually it was because he was so distrustful, arrogant, uncivil, and basicly disrespectful to the nations which pushed them into the finalk coalition that deafeted him

  • @zenoist2 he achieved nothing... :) sorry for late reply LOL 9 months

  • @zenoist2 and yet when alexander reached india, and his campaign stopped his men mutinied against him and he became a paranoid man who had his best friend and general killed...no leader is without his faults, and no military campaign has ever been run perfectly...that napoleon fought almost all of europe by himself stands as one of the greatest military achievements in the history of the world...in my opinion, only genghis khan stands atop that pyramid of generals

  • back then, men and horses were brother's of war.

  • Ok, I'll claim second then :)

    Thanks for sharing, great.

  • 1st comment lol
