  • "Five hundred FBI agents coming after us with a license to kill 30 mil... claiming it's just a drug bust..."

This chilling introductory quote from Chuck D is mostly cut off on this video but the tail end of it can be heard.

  • HEY I REMEMBER THIS ERA OF RAP, IT WAS BACK WHEN SONGS HAD MEANING BEHIND THEM INSTEAD OF TODAY WHERE COMMON THEMES IN RAP ARE MUH DICK AND MUH BLING!

  • probably my favourite public enemy song. powerful beat, no hook in sight and chuck pounds on about white collar criminals.

  • the real deal.

  • whats up withing showing Oliver North? if they have a constant argument there next video will be showing Eric Holder for selling guns do drug cartels. what are the chances of that?

  • Man i've been listening to P.E since I was 11, I'm 32 now.

  • reach uppity reach

  • i like PE and this is my favourite.

  • can't remember the name of the movie towards the end what's it called again?

  • The best ever!

  • @penedegoma - dude, it is your responsibility to bring PE to Spain.. go for it dude. Chuck D remains one of the best rap voices of all time..

  • This is one hell of a track.. pretty unknown apart from the fans..

  • rebel base

  • @codessd1 Empire Strikes Back

  • from Portugal, PE forever

  • i workout to this song

  • Best song AntiSec coulda used

  • I loved this song before AntiSec used it, but I find it fucking awesome that they did.

  • LULZ :P

  • #Antisec

  • George H W Bush,Ronald Reagan and Oliver North are some of the BIGGEST criminals in this countries history. And I mean TREASON. Sold weapons to Iran...... How do you think Al Queda got theirs weapons and training ? The CIA !!!

Public Enemey was on with this video.

  • Haha Anita Hill, Clarence Thomas and a Coke can at 1:51 ..

  • This>Mainstream shit

regards, a 14 year old that listens to GOOD hip hop

  • Thank you all for the comments. This video ( and the entire group!!!) is very unknown in Spain, but I see people around the world love P.E. as I love them. Thanks

  • Gloria a Deus!

  • wow they had 11 ppl whom didnt like this. It must be youtube voting lol dirty bastards

  • ''HOW:.::TO::.:RAP" has amaazing info direct from Chuck D, Kane, G Rap, Pharoahe Monch, Pharcyde, all the best MCs...

its a book that was published recently... incredible read

  • fresh!!! bring back pe!!!

  • What's criminal?? :>)

  • this song is more punk than almost all punk songs.

    from a punk

  • @Morthund a-a-a-agreed! 44yo white suburban former(?) punk here. PE speaks the truth. I used to spin records in punk and alt clubs back in the day, and Public Enemy was one of the the "black acts" that were always widely well received by everyone - even those who supposedly hated hiphop.

  • @orchidtender

cheers mate, thing is, if I really try to not bullshit my own self, I guess I gotta say that back then I would have been one of those Cretin' Hoppin' "oh i don't like blac music" idiots of which you mentioned

thank fuck i aint the same person now...for fucks sake am i the only person who looks agape at how stupid last week's Me was?

then think how stupid the '89 version of me was

  • curti demaissssssss,nilva Brasil

  • So Loud, so heavy, So good....

  • i remember the dude in terminator 2 had a public enemy shirt

  • P.E in the house

  • After all these years, dammit this still goes hard. Too hard for the mainstream media, who pay millions to their pied-piper pop-rap puppets to keep the population dumb and content with apolitical shallow materialism.

  • @chaosroyalevideo couldn't have put it better myself. let's keep concious hip hop alive. P.E.ace.

  • Dope upload!

  • The real criminals are the politicians, bankers and legal system. Fukkin skunks.

  • @Kelly14UK Amen.

  • Wow--I never knew there was a video for this!!!!

  • 1:21 LOLZ! @_@

  • @cunt3d YEAH!

  • Why yall complain on Jay-Z i dont see or hear his whack shit anywhere maybe its becouse i dont watch music channels anymore becouse they are whack as never.

Public Enemy POWER! Been bumping this song for 7 years(not much but...) :D

  • hear in the backgraound it says rebel base? lol

  • W-O-R-D~!!!

  • noPE i aint bending for the soap

  • n.w.o is the new p.e 2012

  • "Police suppose to keep the Peace, but I cant truss em' so I keep my Peice"..."Indiana trees hanging Us instead of Leaves??".. best lyrical lines in the song!!!! Fire!!!!

  • I love that bit about Clarence Thomas and Anita Hill. I"m glad to see that one black man saw that she wasn't lying.

  • love this man love it!!!!!!!!!!

  • AHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHH!

Power to the people and the beats....

  • Rap that starts at 2:36 and ends at 2:45 - Epic voice sample ;)

  • YEA BOYEEEEE......YO CHUCK......SHOW'EM WHATCHA GOT!

  • At first, I was going to argue with your description of "best hip hop video ever".

But after thinking about it, maybe it is!

  • That's the most gangsta hip-hop video I've seen. The video makes you wonder who are the real criminals. The folks that are locked up in prison or those in power that commit crimes but don't do time in prison.

  • this IS the most powerul hip hop tune!!

  • @JoeBlue727 PE has more than 10 most powerful hip hop tunes. this shit is prophetic and I hope it stays up on YouTube.

  • And this is easily one of Public enemy's best songs...I still have the CD single for this, one of the most disturbing CD covers ever...google it...

  • Chuck D is easily one of the the best rappers Ive ever heard, period. Great voice, intelligent lyrics, rappers today only wish they had one ounce of his skill

  • power to people and the beats hell yeahhhhhhhhhhh

  • They just dont make videos like this anymore

  • @TheSilverBrick1 Yeah they stopped makin beats & rap like this Too

  • pwer 2 the people en mn fiets

  • Who's the real criminal -- the guy who's selling weed to make ends meet, or the guy whose lies led a nation into war and thousands of people into their graves? And which one are we focused on locking up for decades? Chuck D, forever and always a PROPHET OF RAGE.

  • @olderthanyou WORD..!!!

  • @olderthanyou That maybe true. But the sad real truth is that people don't give a shit about anything anymore. Their more interested in having a big house, a big screen tv and a big bank account. Black and whites included. Hip hop today is bullshit....it's all about money...money ....money...even their music video's show Huge houses, fancy cars and tons of bitches. People look up to guys like Jay-z and ludacris....but exactly doing exactly that!

  • P.E. FOREVER....ITS MUSIC IN THEIR MESSAGE!! CHUCK D SAID IT BFORE...HE DONT RHYME FOR THE SAKE OF RIDDLIN!..THINK ABOUT THAT!

  • The real deal. Not like most of the crap made these days.

  • Isn't amazing how old shool hip hop like this sounds better that new rap krap today? Hip hop today definiteley lost it's edge, too many rappers sound the same, we didn't have that in the 80's and 90's hip hop, everyone had thier own style!!

  • are we living in hazy shade of crime today in society look at what going on in the world, we are living in a negative society. people are out for them selves. look how we treat people its a crime to say hi to some one know thy self

  • power to the people!

  • THIS VIDEO AND SONGS HIPHOP SONGS LIKE THIS IS THE REAL REASON MAINSTREAM AMERICA FORCE FEEDS US THAT SHIT HIPHOP OF TODAY.

WHAT IF THIS FORM OF HIPHOP WAS ON THE RADIO TODAY? WHY ISNT IT ON!?

THINK ABOUT IT PEOPLE!!! PUBLICENEMY IS A CLASSIC WELL RESPECTED HIPHOP GROUP! PROBABLY THE GREATEST RAP GROUP OF ALL TIME.

    NOT ON THE RADIO!!!

WHY? THE ANSWER IS OBVIOUS... WE DONT WANT ANYONE LISTENING TO HIPHOP TODAY THINKING ON THAT LEVE THAT PUBLIC ENEMY WAS ON....

  • Nobody gets to sit on their butts and whine about how rap isn't like PE anymore. Boredom sets into the boring mind -- Get angry, get focused, then get it done. Discontent is the fuel of creation. Light some matches, kids.....

  • PE - true Hip Hop. Period.

  • Still hitting hard.

  • flavor flav is a joke i thought he was like chuck d, he was in love with a old ugly white lady on the flavor of love, what a disgrace to chuck d and all public enemy stood for, power to the beats

  • Don't be dumb diggity dumb half of these rappers now are dumb diggity dumb long live P.E.

  • Hey now...1996 with you and your relevent and now 2010...lets bring the pain....

  • baddest beat still after all these years

  • one of the greatest song i`ll ever got in my headphones. i miss these kind of tracks...

  • Hip Hop is gonna be like this again.. it just has too.. all this bling and money crap was played out back when PE did it up the first time.. maybe if kids were being taught to actually read and right they would be more concerned with the power of words and ideas and less concerend about the crappy labels on their clothes etc.

  • epic.

  • I'm still shocked they let that on tv after school. Really serious stuff.

Many of PE's tracks, if not all, destroyed a lot of the perceived hoodlum rich gangsta bling bling lifestyle altogether. It would have been really something amazing if this aspect of hardcore hip hop kept on evolving.

Though if it did, change would have happened, and that type of change is not welcome by mass marketing agencies. Music that gets you to buy Caddys and 40 oz's is better for business than books i guess.

  • @1976Dogan look up yung bizzy get bizzy problems

  • I love how back then, PE scared the s**t out of white america!! lol

  • this shit is serious,America was not ready for PE,malcolm x ,or king.

  • P.E. forever

  • man i miss shit like this!!! rap just is str8 trash now.

  • best

  • That (where is the rebel base ) sample is the whip!!

  • Comment removed

  • @uzidown138 also sampled by ICE T Lifestyles Of The Rich And Infamous

  • This is the bomb but now the tell-lie-vision gives me jay z bullshit

  • @nappyg1 It's funny how all these wack azz people go along with that jay z BS.

As usual, another updated slave pawn in the game being used to mislead and decieve people.

Keep IDing this slave and he might stop being a slave.

But it might be to late to get his soul back from who he sold it to so he could be a big man for now.

  • @gat333 so your third eye is open. Good and yes jay z is here for now but it will come out sooner or later that he got skeletons in his closets. Watch

  • @nappyg1 Peace and it's for sure.

RBG Real Guerilla's are Not gangsters

  • @gat333 for sure and by the way gangsters wear suits and called themselves gov officials

  • @nappyg1 word!!! fuck mainstream.. when i even hear the words "rap" or "hip hop" from a younger gen. I tune out...great to see the P.E back..

  • All Request Mondays on Rap City. MuchMusic. Michael Williams and his Boyz In Da Hood T-Shirt.

    That was the drip!

  • "Power to the people and the beats....."

  • brilliant

  • MTV ban anything that's remotely non mass-marketable ala Shitney Spears!

    KN1

  • In Europe they let this slide though ..I remember watchign it on MtV in Swedne back in 93

  • Early rap slipped under the radar and was able to make social commentary to a pop audience that cannot be seen today.

  • Damn. What a song. And this video was BANNED on MTV

  • @invincibleironman3 i wonder why

  • @invincibleironman3 look up yung bizzy get bizzy problems

He got out three years from now just to commit more crime

He's out on bail and out of jail

And that's the way it goes

  • Gotta love the PE videos. Just as powerful as their music.
