  • "Heres an unboxing of the Amazon Kindle lighted leather cover case." Wow that's a mouthful!

  • Great review man. Thank you. WIll be ordering mine soon!

  • Does it work with Kindle Touch? I just bought a Kindle Touch, and spent the first half hour scouring the directions trying to learn how to make it brighter. Well, I just assumed you could. If the leather case is not compatible with Kindle Touch, I will send it back for the one you have, with case. A well lighted Kindle is a must.

  • @nicosiv you can buy a case for the kindle touch. however, it must SPECIFICALLY be for the kindle touch. look on the amazon website.

  • What case works with the Touch?

  • Thanks it came today and it's not heavy at all no more reading in the dark :)

  • Is it very heavy with the kindle inside it?

  • @italktogoldfish No it's not heavy at all. Well worth it.

  • Thanks for the look at the kindle cover well presented, has answered any questions I may have had about it well done!!!

  • good job

  • Great video!!

  • Great review!

  • as you can see its securely held in there..... ohh crap!!!! now that! woulda been funny...

  • can't unofficial manufacturers use the power connectors?

not seen any that don't use separate batteries.

  • @runefreak777 Glad to hear that I never had an issue I will have to take a look at them and see if mine qualifies for a new case just in case.

  • I was looking into this case, and saw multiple reviews about the hooks breaking off, have you had any problems with that?

  • @RicePudden Never had that problem 6+ months However I never take it out of the case either as there is no reason to! Best case hands down for my money.

  • Awesomeee review! Great job! Thanks a lot!

  • @arhomie14 Thanks! I will be doing alot more soon Im setting up the site for more and varied reviews and news!

  • fuck $60 cases, i bought a $5 book light and put it in the box the thing came in

  • @mason0190 Times are tough out there I know! Good luck with your book in a box :)

  • The range of the light is better than I expected, but that hot spot looks really invasive. Is it easier to read the top right corner than it looks?

  • @Shindai I think that hot spot is only visible in the video. I have a lighted cover, and so does my daughter. There is no hotspot in actual use. I was surprised to see it in the video, in fact. I've had my cover since Christmas, and my daughter since late April, and neither of us have had any problems. It's a great cover. One bit of advice, use adhesive velcro circle on the back of the Kindle to keep it securely attached to the case--otherwise it feels a little floppy.

  • @mmcdonald64 No there is not any Hotspots you are correct it's just my Camera I recently procured a new one and future videos will be much better!

  • @Shindai thats just my camera sorry about that there reall isnt any HOTSPOTS though it is slightly brighter on the top right just due to the location of the lights.

  • Wal-Mart has the case without the light, for 24.99, which I found it as a very good deal versus other retail stores that they sell it for 34.99.

  • Thank you so much for taking the time to record this and upload it! I just ordered a "like new" version of this case in orange and it came without the instructions. Thanks to your clear descriptions and visual guide, I was able to easily get her hooked into the case and understand how the light works. Thanks also for the info regarding the battery life/charging as a result of the light. :)

  • Nice but what's up with that price...

  • I heard about a rare defect with this case, and I overlooked it.

Now it fucked me over. It has to do with the hooks being metallic or something.

Either way, it's really annoying. The case was made well, but my kindle is now in extremely poor condition due to this case. It's cracked (very small) on the side, the hooks scratched inside and out and I heard something rumbling around inside. I can still read, but I feel that this is the end. I haven't had it for long and I am very dissatisfied.

  • @RockinAnimz Wow I never heard of that. I have had this case over 6 months now and love it. I use it daily almost and never had that issue. I have taken it in and out a thousand times..

  • .... I just witnessed a glare on the Kindle at 4:10! 0.0

  • @MyMovieLove You're kidding right?! Just in case you're not though, I think that's just the reflection of the light that's in the room on the screen

  • @didesbrulais Haha, I was kidding. I just said that because Amazon always goes on about how the Kindle doesn't glare.

  • The iPad isnt an e-book reader by the way :)

  • so without the light case you can't read at night?... the background isn't lighted?.... I've never used one but im thinking about getting one

  • Are you joe from family guy?

  • @sensesfaix13xx I hope so! I'm about to buy one myself. I'm headed over there, too.

  • Thanks for the video. I have the case but am wondering what happens when and if the LED bulbs blow out, which they inevitably will. Are they replaceable? I haven't found any comments about this anywhere.

    edward devere

  • @Jha49513 - LEDs have a general life expectancy of 50,000 hrs (10 hrs per day results in 13.7 year lifespan). The lifespan of the Kindle is going to be shorter than the lifespan of the LEDs that you're worried about.

  • DID you noticed that the light change from a blueish color to a whiter color?

  • why does evryone say it's self that drives me crazy omg..............

  • You can just make it snap into place. You don't need to place it a 45 degree angle nor do you need to push the clasp down. The egdes of the the clasps are rounded. So if you push the kindle, they automatically will retract and when they are pushed in enough, the lock into to the spaces in the side of the kindle. That is when you hear the snap.

  • When the light is retracted and you turn on the Kindle does the light turn on or does it know it's in and stay off?

  • @AdmiralMichael when the light is retracted down it turns off when you open it turns on.

  • I love this case. The light works very well.

  • Good question, he didn't mention if it was bullet proof.

  • Do you think this case is sturdy enough to protect my kindle for a year in afghanistan?

  • @SensesFailx13xx hmmm its sturdy enough but bulletproof Its not :) Might want to do a closed case for the dust etc.

  • I'm assuming the kindle is easy to remove from the case, but would like to see a video of this as I don't want to scratch my new kindle or bend the prongs. thanks!

  • How do you get the Kindle out of the case? Ours seems to be be quite difficult.

  • Does your kindle have any "play" in the case? I feel like mine moves a little too much when I'm reading while laying down. It pivots a little. Everything feels secure though. What do you think?

  • where can i get this case?

  • Excellent review, many thanks.

  • If you have ever clipped one of those little book lights onto you paperback and found it useful then you may like the Kindle case with light. If you never have then there's not much point getting the case with light. It's not some special Kindle-light - it's just a light.

  • great review. I plan to get a kindle for Christmas, I am not a night reader, do you think I should buy the case with light?

  • @Sceptile24 I cant make that decision for you, However if you buy a case and than decide you want to get a light your screwed. I would just get this case and than never use the light should you not need it.. You will hardly know it's there!

  • @DigitalDorf The kindle 3 cover with a light fixes the problem many have with the unlit cover. The unlit cover because of static build up (or something) causes the kindle to freeze in the off position frequently, but the lit cover seems to fix it.

  • @brizzolara Glad to hear that! I did not know that was the case

  • @DigitalDorf me too! Amazon sent one to me for free to fix the problem. Also, kudos for the (unintentional?) pun.

  • Ive not noticed that. I usually have to charge 2 times a month. I read about an hour ever other night in bed. One time I charged three times.

  • How has battery life been with the light on? I read a product review at the product page and someone claimed that the light drained his battery to 15% in one night of reading. Have you noticed any huge battery decreases like this person? Thanks.

  • Thanks for the review. I noticed you folded the top flap back, so is this comfortable to use with the kindle with one hand? Is the case heavy?

  • @chelpop3 very comfortable and yes light to hold in one hand..

  • Very informative and well-detailed review. Made up my mind for me thanks much!

  • really superb review. there is one question I have however, that I can't really find the answer to anywhere.

If the Kindle is left on with the light on as well, and the Kindle shuts off/hibernates after being left on too long, does the light shut off as well?

  • @THANATOSdist

Good question and yes. If you Leave the power on and it goes into standby the light also turns off.

  • How sturdy is the clasp band that secures the case? It looks like it could easily snap.

  • the only problem is its LEATHER

  • Thanks, Glenn. This is just what I wanted to know. I'm ordering mine right now!

  • I just wanted to say thank you for the excellent review, you've really sold me on the case! One quick question which I'm hoping you can help with - does the light switch off when it is slotted back in the case (and therefore use no power)? I would only use the light every so often so I'd hope that the case wouldn't drain power on the battery if the light isn't being used.

  • @adamtalbot thanks for the kind words! Yes when you close the light or put back in the case it turns off and uses no battery. I love the case tried another few out and went right back to this one. DOES EVERYTHING I NEED better than any case I have used or seen.

  • @DigitalDorf Sounds good. Thanks again!

  • this is a really good review, by far one of the best ones on here. how much does the kindle light affect the battery life?

  • @luisluisluisis about 25% faster twice a month for me

  • @DigitalDorf thanks :)

  • Excellent review. Thank you! How hard is it to remove the case? Is it something you can easily snap on and off?

  • @robertjsawyer Sorry been away! The Kindle removes SUPER easy just slide down the latch and pull the unit out.. Easy

  • Thank you for the review! It was very complete, but I still have one tiny doubt.

How does the light behave in a not full dark environment? I'm used to read at gym and the move of my head projects moving shadows to the screen. I think maybe the case light can solve it (since is not above my head like the gym lights :D), but I'd love to hear your opinion. Hope I made myself clear :D.

    Thanks again!

  • @deigote Honestly I do not know the light will help increase the screen contrast so that might solve it. Best bet for you would be to go to BestBuy or local store and buy it. This way you can return it should you need to easily.

I tried to use it here in a "lighted" situation and it did improve the "brightness" of the screen but I don't have shadow issues.

  • @DigitalDorf thanks for the answer and for your time. I bought it anyway :D (I'm in Europe, and can only buy it in Amazon.com). I think I had already decided when I asked you, but didn't know it yet 0: -).

  • Thank you. This was the best review of the light I've seen so for. Very good.

  • @merkalee Appreciate the comments..

  • Great review of the case! I researched several sites and didn't find the information to be too helpful. I stumbled across your video, and decided to purchase the case with the light. Thanks for bringing this one to "life" and for taking the time to post. I really felt like I knew what I was purchasing (both good and bad) as a result!

  • @yourmamadrummer Thanks for the compliments. I am still getting comfortable with talking to a recorder :) I really like the case as well. You made a good call on getting it.

  • Great job. Now I know what to ask for for Christmas

  • @andytraub Good Choice! Hope you get it and enjoy your reading experience!
