  • I just want to know why Dracula looks like Skeletor in this sequel.

  • @Warpony9000 Because he wasn't supposed to revive at all. Simon was supposed to burn his remains in the castle, and it would be all over. Boy was he wrong. It's similar to the Dracula battle in Harmony of Dissonance where he says, "Hmph, I'm not stable, but your blood will once again make me whole." And in this ending, it actually happens. Simon you BAKA! You revived Dracula completely! NOW what will you do?

  • I didn't need a guide to beat this game when I was a kid... so I guess I saved myself a few bucks.

  • I guess it may be the silly and completely bogus randomness that you have to do that makes this game ridiculously frustrating and hilarious. It's almost like a scam just to get you to buy that Nintendo Power guide they had going on at the time. ;p

Because there's no way in hell ANYONE could of beaten this game without a guide. It's definitly the weakest Castlevania imo out of the bunch, but funny enough it's got this silly ridiculous charm about it. ;p 6/10 for me 'when' using the guide.

  • and the tediousness of it all, including the annoying 10 second-ish day to night transitions....Although I got used to it after a while, and the horrible empty castle with the oh so anticlimactic lifeless battle with Dracula were incredibly dissapointing. Yet oddly enough, there's something else i just like about this game. call it the silly nostalgia from the AVGN's CII review from a few years back along with when he even brought it up during his Dr. Jeckle review hehe....

  • They couldn't even get Simon's hair color right in the actual game....Since when was it black?lol Anyways, I actually just finished this game for the first time today with of course from the help of a guide due to the games crazy 'make no sense' locals and completely random objectives. But hey, the music was just amazing, the graphics were beautiful and it's got great atmosphere. But the generic crazy bland 'No Boss'(aside from 2 who were awful) Mansions and...

  • and i meant personal. lol keep up the videos ar. these bring me back to my childhood. :)

  • cool ending ...i remember beating this when i was a kid with all the endings . it was hard to get use to but this is a great old game. people take what others say waaaay to person. who cares what anyone thinks but yourself right? and i thought tmnt was a hard game when i was young. :)

  • *hand pops out of ground*

    me:aw shit not again

  • at 2:28 dracula must have survived because simon buried him in the Pet sematary

  • Was Simon praying to Dracula?

  • Dracula hates nothing more than a decent burial with Simon paying his respects!

  • I miss the original NES so much. Ditto for the SNES. Back when games were simple.

  • Creepy for an NES game.

  • hah that would have been cool if the hand comes out of the grave and gave the finger to the lucky basterds that where good enoght to beet this game.

  • @DiggerandIndy what

  • This is the Good Ending for Castlevania 2.When Simon Belmont wins the battle agains Dracula.

But I don't think It's so good this ending because Dracula is more powerfull than Death.Poor Simon...Another adventure.

  • is it true that you have to die like a jillion times in this game to beat it?

  • no I can do it without dieing, cornshaq and many others can too.

  • Not sure that this is the "best" ending if Dracula's hand is coming up out of the grave! (And why does he have a mourner?)

  • Comment removed

  • sacred fire? I found it easier just to use laurels+flame whip... faster too

  • he did it to get the best ending, things like weapons used and time effect the ending of the game

  • His blood and sweat will induce magic happiness...

    Umm.........wtf!?!?

I like the ending where he dies more! It kinda makes more sense!

  • i always thought drac look lik e a ww2 pilot in this castlevania

  • my father is from transylvania! how bout that! ^_^

  • the AVGN said this game was horrible.

  • It was different from what people expected just like The adventures of Link was different from Zelda. It wasnt a bad game I enjoyed it.

  • i enjoyed both thouroughly

  • Recently, he said it's actually kinda good and had that Castlevania Atmosphere.

  • nerd ain't wrong about many things in this game, check the Re: CASTLEVANIA 2: SIMON's QUEST by the Angry Nintendo Nerd by goemon047.

if the thing with the invisible walls, secret passages and watter that can kill you, in Town ain't unnecesarely, may god have mercy on your souls.. -_-

  • @toxicitzi

Nerd is overrated. Play games you like and find ones to enjoy. Don't listen to the "nerd" His opinion isn't fact. I think simon's quest is a great title with good music,Fun gameplay and challenging aspects. I could rip on the nerd...His wife is ugly, his gaming skills are laughable and thinks he's the most popular moron on the net, when in reality he's just a douche that "No-life" nerd enjoy. TMNT is even a good game, just a bit unbalanced.

  • @TheDemoniusX You are the only troll here bashing for no reason, the AVGN's complaints to TMNT are completely legit, the game is way too freaking hard for all the young kids to finish. You can't argue with that merciless difficulty!

As for his Castlevania 2 review, haven't you made a mistake once in your entire life? We all know he fucked up there but even so I feel like he covered half of those problems in the game really good.

The box was stupid and the last level of the game was RETARDED!

  • @toxicitzi

I completed TMNT with little difficulty. As I stated the game is unbalanced in some areas of the game. However I'm a very classically seasoned gamer who has little trouble in even the most considerably harder NES titles. As for the nerd, People overrate the guy. Just because a man who plays a game with glasses and says stupid swear self-made swear phrases. Doesn't make a person cool. Gaming is about personal preference. YOU enjoy what is out there. opinions of others DON"T matter

  • @TheDemoniusX Its just a fucking character dude, if you didn't see anything else but his AVGN stuff, which u just prove you did, you shouldn't talk bad about him. jerk...

And by the way, do you not understand the term, Funny? or are you that of a buzz kill you can simply not accept a simple SWEAR in your taste? if so, please GTFO, you have looked at a thing that simply won't ever do it for you!

  • @toxicitzi

Nerd fans like you need to GTFO of gaming period because ONE persons sole opinion seem to be the deciding factor in why games suck? Now who's retarded?

OMG the nerd said this game sucks,I must stay away. Close minded gamers who listen to his oblivious opinions aren't gamers, They are idiots. So speak for yourself.

  • @TheDemoniusX that's the problem, you don't think outside of your own skills.

this game is actually a terrible example of Childrens cartoon game adaptation, do you really think that 8 year old kids could beat this game?

And the use of enemies is really impressive I must say... very true to the cartoon from which it came..

besides you gotta love that insane platforming that is just making you mad as hell, a realy good challenge to the kids..

    Real fucking great concept mate.

  • @toxicitzi

We both can't see a resolve in this issue. We both have our own opinions on this issues. Agree to disagree. I beat ninja turtles at age 9 at my friend steve's house during a sleep over. The hardest part in my opinion is INSIDE the technodrome. Shredder is easy if you have scrolls. Not to say I didn't have a hard time at first. TMNT is solely a game of trial and error. Once you play it about 3 or 4 times and get the hang of the "tedious" engine in which the game is built. it's not bad

  • @toxicitzi i beat this when i was 7. i played it for hours on end. the only problem i had with the game was figuring out what to do with the red crystal. after travelling the whole game for hours i finally somehow figured out to kneel down by the very left end of the map. totally stupid idea with the crystals and kneeling

  • @toxicitzi

The americanized version of SQ was HIGHLY butchered. DID your saving grace reviewer who is so dumb-founded say that in this review? NO, he didn't. The translation of all the text was way off and confused many of players. As for the box art of castlevania II, yes I tend to agree there was no creativity in it's process. The finale is also anti-climatic. However I consider SQ II one of my favorite games in the series.None of the less AVGN sucks, doesn't deserve praise.

  • nerd is wrong. In many games.

It's easy to insult every game there is, especially if you show only the bad things about games. Like avgn didn't say anything about the music of this game, or characters etc. Of course there is bad, I mean, VERY BAD things in this game, but there's also good ones that overcome the bad things. This game is good and legendary action rpg on NES

  • Hell yeah! Simon's Quest was awesome!!!

  • wAT?

  • amm the nerd only checks gameplay, well not only, but takes it as the major point for a game to be good or bad. I like CV2 but not too much as the first or the third.

  • Hmmm.... this is the one the nerd get right?

And if this is the good ending, the black and white ending was the medium or the bad one? And the lightblue sky one? I don't understand very well what happens in the endings, anyone can help me?

  • To get the different endings you have to beat the game in a certain amount of time (I forgot how much time though). Your right, the lightblue sky ending is the worst.

  • Little known facts:

    1. The translators messed up the order of two of the translations. The WORST ending shows a gray picture with a DEAD Simon but only talks about you "DEFEATING DRACULA FOREVER", and the AVERAGE ending shows a happy day with Simon at the grave, but says that "SIMON DIED FROM THE WOUNDS AFTER DEFEATING DRACULA".

    2. The BEST ending (fastest time) is the only REAL ending, part of the real storyline, and shows how Dracula rises from the grave in time for the next game.

    Enjoy.

  • @TheUniqueMaster The endings are kind of wierd the ending that is the worst is actually for beating it faster than the average one. The good one is for beating it the fastest. And the average one is for beating it the slowest.

I dont know how that works but I guess they wanted to fuck with you for being close to beating it the best but they give you the worst instead.

  • The ending sucks too.

  • Bitch the nerd is never wrong. This game sucks. Castlevania 1 and 3 were better than this shit load of fuck.

  • I love this game. This is what inspired me to dress as a medieval vampire hunter for Halloween but with a few alterations: carrying a sword, dagger, bow and arrows. If I can go as my vampire hunter this year that will work. My character is Trevor's cousin and Van Helsing's ancestor. Her name is Fionna and she is from Scotland.

  • Um...all righty then!

  • Simon's Quest RULEZZZZ!! the Nerd is WRONG!!
