If the Zapruder Film was "faked" as so many people claim, why didn't these "conspirators" alter the movement of Kennedy's head to show foreward movement? I'm sorry folks, but I used to believe this crap for years. I have come to realize how much time I wasted believing in conspiracy theories. There is NO CONCLUSIVE EVIDENCE OF CONSPIRACY. Including how many bullets hit Kennedy, how many shooters there were, and the timing of the shots. The encountered Lee Harvey Oswald on the 2nd floor eating lunch, several co-workers confirmed this (left out of warren commission) Which means, Oswald would have had to shoot 4 times, hide his gun between the bookshelves over 50 feet from where he shot from, run down 5 flights of stairs, and appear calm. LOL

Iv'e researched it at length and there is just too much proof saying it was altered. I don't really want to get into it though. @mike649fox - Now that you mention it, in the Documentary I recommend, they did mention that the film was basicaly taken from Zapruder, and held by Time for a long period. However, I still disagree, simply due to the fact that Zapruder himself reviewed it, and stated it was exactly what he shot, AND the Kodak engineers that studied it and concluded it had not been tampered with... Plus, they didn't have the epic fractal algorithms that allow us to do modern video work.. Wasn't feasible then.
@monstercomp11 Zapruda said that when he filmed it he clearly saw the presidents head pop up from behind the sign. We can't see that in the zfilm. Others testified that the president stood up when he first got hit so that ties in with what zapruda saw. Also, zapruda actually said in a later interview that he wouldn't remember if that was exactly what he filmed or not. The kodak guy who 'examined' it wa clearly under the influence of higher forces and since then the film has not been....

@mike649fox - Bro, having been in film editing for the last 25 years, I can personally GUARANTEE that the film was not altered, 3 simple reasons. The kind of editing this would require needs Fractal Algorithms, something Hollywood only discovered about 10 - 15 years ago, before this computers were simply not powerful enough. COuld they have clipped a few frames out? I supposed, problem is there aren't any missing frames, and faking them would be simply too hard. 3rd, we have TWO videos.
@mike649fox - Many people are not aware, but there was a Second video recorded, from the Opposide side of the car, and the car stopping theory, was disproven, you can watch from the second video which collaborates the Zapruder 100%. The car did not suddenly stop, and if everyone lurched I have no doubts it was due to the extremely loud rifle shots they had just heard and felt... I have edited film for a LONG time, and I personally say that the Zapruder being edited is total BS.

If you watch when Kennedy gets hit in the throat, and he throws his hands up towrds his neck, this is the bullet that supposedly hit Connely and ended up in his wrist. Zapruder testified before the Warren Commission that the frames published in Commission Exhibit 885 were from the film that he took.
In 1998, Roland Zavada, a product engineer from Kodak who led the team that invented Kodachrome II, studied the film at the behest of the National Archives and concluded that the film was an “in camera original” and that any alleged alterations were not feasible

There would have been many more films from bystanders but "agents" were confiscating them everywhere in Dealey Plaza right after the assasination. Google Beverly Oliver, they took her film and told her they would return it. She is still waiting. She was standing right near Jean Hill and Mary Moorman.
The Altgens photo proves that the Z film was altered. In the Z film, JFK doesn't start to grab his throat until the limo goes behind the sign. In the AP photo, he is grabbing his throat as the limo passes the TSBD. Google Altgens photo and enlarge it.

I think that Kennedy was shot in the head twice but from two different angles and the Zapruder film had to be altered to cut the second shot out as two shots from different angles suggests at least two gunmen, and when you have two or more gunmen that puts an end to the Lee Harvey Oswald 'lone nut' explanation.
Connally was actually hit back at frame #223 Before his cheeks puff out. At the same instant as Kennedy was hit (they were hit by the same bullet). Jean Hill's recollections were incorrect about more than being out in the street. She thought she saw a white dog sitting on the back seat sitting between the Kennedys. She also stated that she witnessed Secret Service shooting *towards* the knoll. Eyewitness testimony is notorously unreliable.

The fact of the matter is the copy of the film used by Jack White is faulty compared to to other researchers' copies.
@tubeyou9878 there's no such thing as a silencer... a suppressor suppresses the noise of the gas exiting the gun barrel... it is not 100% silent and to my knowledge it does not effect the velocity of the round. There is subsonic ammo also though. Keep in mind that the people there that day HEARD the shots.
@DoctorSess You don't understqand I get ten and my bartender gets ten...No you can really make something silent, but you have to have less powder in the bullet it has to be going slower than sound. With a big enough supressor you can just about make a pistol silent. You could get it down very quiet.

Sub Sonic Ammo (Bullets that travel slower than the speed of sound) combined with a suppressor are pretty damn silent but my point's that everyone there that day heard at least 3 shots... so if a suppressor was used it would be to conceal the direction from which the kill shot came. If you were going to doctor the Zapruder Film to remove evidence of a conspiracy, why would you leave the backwards head snap intact? And all these claims that the limo stopped...for some reason, the small number of accounts that claim this are trumpetted above the vast majority of accounts that mention no stopped limo. The trickery that hoax believers insist was done to the film simply could not have been carried out with 1963 tech, or in the time that was available. The film is GENUINE.
Z Film was like this "problem" they couldnt get rid of, for whatever reason that film was known, the right people knew about it, etc. So they couldnt just trash it, instead they decided to use it to the best advantage they could. Unfortunately they couldnt make it perfect, but close. So it ends up aired, what 12 years after the assassination? It wouldn/couldnt go away, so they used it instead. And had a lot of time to do a lot of other things. hide/tamper, before the public could even cry out.

Without it, they would only have all the witnesses and other things that claimed all sorts of different happenings that day. WHat speaks louder than words? A Picture. Especially a bonafide video of the entire scene. It was perfect, without the altered film they wouldnt have been able to sell the American public and investigators.

actually the film was first shown to the public back in 1969, once Jim Garrison was able to get his hands on the film from Time Life. Garrison was the first to show the film to the public.

I guess Jim Garrison got duped too. He used the Z-film as evidence against Clay Shaw. If this film is a fake I guess it means Shaw WAS innocent.
Using Jean Hill's testimony as the cornerstone to any investigative piece is a recipe for disaster. This guy assumes Jean Hill's testimony is correct. He assumes she stepped out into the street and yelled to the president. She didn't. She also claimed to have remained standing after the shots were fired. She didn't she sat down next the Mary Moorman. She said she immediately ran across the street to catch the shooter and was almost hit by a motorcycle and other cars in the motorcade. She didn't.
Also, the film never left Zapruder's sight from the time he shot it until it was purchased by Stolley of Life Magazine the following day. Also, frames of the film were published in black & white in the very next issue of Life Magazine. I've seen some bizare theories, but this one is is so silly.

Whether the Zapruder film is a hoax is beside the point. The JFK assassination was the greatest hoax ever perpetrated in America. JFK staged his own mock assassination in such a spectacular and public manner that no one could ever doubt his death in Dealey Plaza. This was proven the following year when he was witnessed attending Truman Capote's private birthday party.
if the Zapruder film was manipulated how does one explain its precise timing sequence with other films like the Nix film and more importantly the Moorman film (which the FBI or CIA didn't know about until a day or two later AFTER it was shown on a local TV station?). The timing of all 3 films prove the Z film is genuine.

Calling the Zapruder Film a fake is probably the single most ridiculous claim of the entire mystery. It's difficult to believe that allegedly intelligent people actually choose to believe this theory. Because the chances that the Zapruder film was faked is well below 0%. Why, once Kennedy was apparently shot through the throat, with a bullet so fast and powerful that it continued on into Connelly, was there not one drop of blood visible on the president's front? Why did Time-Life hang onto the film for so long, and only finally released it when they were subpoened? And, why is it so hard to believe that members of our own government would kill Kennedy because he posed a threat to their business interests? Money is the root of all evil, remember that.
Why, once Kennedy raised his arms to his throat and was clearly in distress, did not one Secret Service agent so much as approach the car? Why, on the Zapruder film, do you clearly see the front right part of Kennedy's head explode, yet in the autopsy photos, his face doesn't have a scratch on it?

@mep41376 Sadly -- people today have not taken the time to research Zapruder and how this film came to be. He took the original unprocessed film to a Kodak processor in Dallas at 2:40 p.m. -- about two hours after the assassination. He was accompanied by Secret Service Agent Forest Sorrells of the Dallas SS office. Three "first-generation prints" from the original "film" were made. One went to the FBI, One was bought by LIFE, one Zapruder kept.
@oldmac1 LIFE also bought the original film. It later returned both the print and original to the Zapruder family, which then "gave" the origina to the National Archives for safekeeping. Years later a fight would ensue as the family tried to get the original back. The original film and two of the prints (one of which Zapruder had maintained from the day of the assassination) all were examined extensively (by real experts) and were determined to be legit, undoctored and identical to each other
@oldmac1 So the question I always ask is this: If they knew Zapruder had film of the assassination -- and it was as damning to the "official report" (that wouldn't come out for a year, mind you) why not just destroy the film? Why not an accidental "oops" we exposed it to the light? Why not just take it and say "Film? What film?" It makes no sense. I Believe the Zapruder film was altered.... by conspiracy theorists. They are really getting desperate, trying to keep this bull crap alive. Almost 50 years! and no concrete proof of a 2nd shooter, or any conspiracy. This would not be the first time a desperate conspiracy nut tampered with evidence to prove their case, or sell some books.

For starters Jean Hill's memory is wrong - as is many "eye witness testimony" are. A film taken from behind her, showing the assassination from across the street from Zapruder shows Jean Hill standing on the GRASS. So unless BOTH films were altered, she's mistaken. The rest of your claims are just as easily put to rest. You're doing history a great injustice with your "photo anaylsis". I believe that there was most likely a second shooter. Jean Hill was discredited a long time ago - she was an opportunist and lied to make money about her altered testimony over the years. Many photo's show her glued to the spot where she took her bad quality Polaroid snap until the press bus passed by minutes later. As for the film being a hoax is utter non-sense! Modern rifles don't 'smoke', either.
Saying that the film was altered in just one year immediately after the assassination is wrong. The film was not shown to the public until 1975. That is about 11 1/2 years later. Plenty of time for serious alterations.

Concerning the limo turn onto Elm St, we obviously know the released z film does not show this, but has anyone taken note of the opening film sequences of the movie JFK? @mike649fox - Now that you mention it, in the Documentary I recommend, they did mention that the film was basicaly taken from Zapruder, and held by Time for a long period. However, I still disagree, simply due to the fact that Zapruder himself reviewed it, and stated it was exactly what he shot, AND the Kodak engineers that studied it and concluded it had not been tampered with... Plus, they didn't have the epic fractal algorithms that allow us to do modern video work.. Wasn't feasible then.

@monstercomp11 Zapruda said that when he filmed it he clearly saw the presidents head pop up from behind the sign. We can't see that in the zfilm. Others testified that the president stood up when he first got hit so that ties in with what zapruda saw. Also, zapruda actually said in a later interview that he wouldn't remember if that was exactly what he filmed or not. The kodak guy who 'examined' it wa clearly under the influence of higher forces and since then the film has not been....

The kind of editing this would require needs Fractal Algorithms, something Hollywood only discovered about 10 - 15 years ago, before this computers were simply not powerful enough. @mike649fox - Many people are not aware, but there was a Second video recorded, from the Opposide side of the car, and the car stopping theory, was disproven, you can watch from the second video which collaborates the Zapruder 100%. The car did not suddenly stop, and if everyone lurched I have no doubts it was due to the extremely loud rifle shots they had just heard and felt... I think that Kennedy was shot in the head twice but from two different angles and the Zapruder film had to be altered to cut the second shot out as two shots from different angles suggests at least two gunmen, and when you have two or more gunmen that puts an end to the Lee Harvey Oswald 'lone nut' explanation.

Connally was actually hit back at frame #223 Before his cheeks puff out. At the same instant as Kennedy was hit (they were hit by the same bullet). Jean Hill's recollections were incorrect about more than being out in the street. She thought she saw a white dog sitting on the back seat sitting between the Kennedys. She also stated that she witnessed Secret Service shooting *towards* the knoll. Eyewitness testimony is notorously unreliable.

@tubeyou9878 there's no such thing as a silencer... a suppressor suppresses the noise of the gas exiting the gun barrel... it is not 100% silent and to my knowledge it does not effect the velocity of the round. There is subsonic ammo also though. Keep in mind that the people there that day HEARD the shots.

If you were going to doctor the Zapruder Film to remove evidence of a conspiracy, why would you leave the backwards head snap intact? And all these claims that the limo stopped...for some reason, the small number of accounts that claim this are trumpetted above the vast majority of accounts that mention no stopped limo. The trickery that hoax believers insist was done to the film simply could not have been carried out with 1963 tech, or in the time that was available. The film is GENUINE.

Without it, they would only have all the witnesses and other things that claimed all sorts of different happenings that day. WHat speaks louder than words? A Picture. Especially a bonafide video of the entire scene. It was perfect, without the altered film they wouldnt have been able to sell the American public and investigators.

My real point was that having the film the way it has obviously been doctored served a certain and special purpose. Whatever people said in testimony would always come 2nd to "The hard evidence" and so on. They may not have been able to do EVERYTHING they would have liked with it but they were able to steer much of the "facts" using it.

@LoneNutter1 Far too much to try and hide the fact that Jack's head went back, that would be WAY TOO OBVIOUS, so instead they enhanced and faked the massive blood spatter to try and mask a bit of the initial impact, posibly assuming they could claim "Involuntary muscle contraction due to brain injury", anything like that, we just dont know. Yet the Z film was definitely altered and we, to this day, are still left wondering, guessing and theorizing. I'd say the film speaks for itself on that one.

actually the film was first shown to the public back in 1969, once Jim Garrison was able to get his hands on the film from Time Life. Garrison was the first to show the film to the public.

399er is correct! The Zapruder film was in constant possession of Abraham Zapruder from the time the film was shot to the time it was developed.
I guess Jim Garrison got duped too. He used the Z-film as evidence against Clay Shaw. If this film is a fake I guess it means Shaw WAS innocent.

Using Jean Hill's testimony as the cornerstone to any investigative piece is a recipe for disaster. This guy assumes Jean Hill's testimony is correct. He assumes she stepped out into the street and yelled to the president. She didn't. She also claimed to have remained standing after the shots were fired. She didn't she sat down next the Mary Moorman. She said she immediately ran across the street to catch the shooter and was almost hit by a motorcycle and other cars in the motorcade. She didn't.

Also, the film never left Zapruder's sight from the time he shot it until it was purchased by Stolley of Life Magazine the following day. Also, frames of the film were published in black & white in the very next issue of Life Magazine. I've seen some bizare theories, but this one is is so silly.

Whether the Zapruder film is a hoax is beside the point. The JFK assassination was the greatest hoax ever perpetrated in America. JFK staged his own mock assassination in such a spectacular and public manner that no one could ever doubt his death in Dealey Plaza. This was proven the following year when he was witnessed attending Truman Capote's private birthday party.

if the Zapruder film was manipulated how does one explain its precise timing sequence with other films like the Nix film and more importantly the Moorman film (which the FBI or CIA didn't know about until a day or two later AFTER it was shown on a local TV station?). The timing of all 3 films prove the Z film is genuine.

While there's little doubt JFK was killed by a conspiracy, and the back of his head has always seemed suspiciously dark (to hide the massive exit wound) I've always been wary of Zapruder alteration theories...
.But now, when I watch it, and I try to keep my eye on the limo and ignore the fastmoving background -- you can see the limo slows briefly to a near-stop, the head explodes, and the car speeds up again... and yet the backgroud never changes speed!!

Why, once Kennedy raised his arms to his throat and was clearly in distress, did not one Secret Service agent so much as approach the car? Let's face it, the only reason Clint Hill raced up to the car was because Jackie had climbed onto the trunk. It's almost as if the Secret Service agents purposely waited until "the job" was done. Why, on the Zapruder film, do you clearly see the front right part of Kennedy's head explode, yet in the autopsy photos, his face doesn't have a scratch on it?

It amazes me that people still choose to believe that Oswald acted alone. They say that if it was a conspiracy, then why hasn't anybody talked? Well, if you do your research, there's a whole bunch of people that talked; there's a lot of Americans, though, that just don't want to hear it. @mep41376 Sadly -- people today have not taken the time to research Zapruder and how this film came to be. He took the original unprocessed film to a Kodak processor in Dallas at 2:40 p.m. -- about two hours after the assassination. He was accompanied by Secret Service Agent Forest Sorrells of the Dallas SS office. Three "first-generation prints" from the original "film" were made. One went to the FBI, One was bought by LIFE, one Zapruder kept.

@oldmac1 LIFE also bought the original film. It later returned both the print and original to the Zapruder family, which then "gave" the origina to the National Archives for safekeeping. Years later a fight would ensue as the family tried to get the original back. The original film and two of the prints (one of which Zapruder had maintained from the day of the assassination) all were examined extensively (by real experts) and were determined to be legit, undoctored and identical to each other

For starters Jean Hill's memory is wrong - as is many "eye witness testimony" are. A film taken from behind her, showing the assassination from across the street from Zapruder shows Jean Hill standing on the GRASS. So unless BOTH films were altered, she's mistaken. The rest of your claims are just as easily put to rest. You're doing history a great injustice with your "photo anaylsis". I believe that there was most likely a second shooter. But I can't swallow this crap.

Jean Hill was discredited a long time ago - she was an opportunist and lied to make money about her altered testimony over the years. Many photo's show her glued to the spot where she took her bad quality Polaroid snap until the press bus passed by minutes later. As for the film being a hoax is utter non-sense! Saying that the film was altered in just one year immediately after the assassination is wrong. The film was not shown to the public until 1975. That is about 11 1/2 years later. Plenty of time for serious alterations.

Concerning the limo turn onto Elm St, we obviously know the released z film does not show this, but has anyone taken note of the opening film sequences of the movie JFK? There are 2-3 seconds of footage of 'a limo turning onto Elm'. I take it this is part of the JFK movie, as a posed to the z film?? It looks very authentic, as if it were indeed shot by mr z himself. As many years have now passed I can finally reveal what I know. John was not killed by Oswald, or indeed any gunman on the grassy knoll or anywhwere else. Indeed watch Jackie at 3:02 see how she bends over in front of him, and is so close. The gunman, was actually a gun-WOMAN! Jackie did it! She holds a pistol just under his chin as she 'cradles' his head...watch close and you will see how obvious this is.
