Why not be smart and just build a stronger version of it to withstand numerous launches?... wouldn't that be the smart and awesome thing to do? Hennessey gtr sucks balls. Who would pay 15k to do that shit. Get the hks kit and turn up the boost and get 620whp and up like samuraispeed for only 6k. His car does 10s easy

Every car guy knows the last few tenths of a second cost as much or more as the first few seconds off your times.

Its exponential, you pay way more for the last bit as physics gets harder and harder to cope with.

it's a simple principle of diminishing returns and applies to many things (sound proofing a studio for example)

i would rather buy my parts and [put them on myself. I would never pay 15k for someone to work on my car. I would rather find an excellent tuner dyno and level everything out after i have installed my parts and ill still be under 10k.

Maybe your physics applies to ppl with deeper wallets. Hennessey if for rich ppl who just wanna have their cars made faster w/o any effort on their part. So is lingeffer (cant spell it)

You can get the Hennessey kit for 24 grand installed or 16 grand for just parts and put them on yourself.

the hks 570 kit is 6k though. Thats a 10k difference for the same exact parts

I assume 570 is the final horsepower count? The hennessey price is for the 700hp package, which would account for the price difference.

if it makes you feel any better, a Tubi exhaust for a Ferrari F430, which adds just about 10 horsepower, costs $9,000

570whp is the minimum u should get and most ppl are getting 600plus for 6k not 11.5k from the godzilla 600. I cant imagine 2 bigger turbos that hike up the price to 19k for the godzilla 700. Which twin turbos cost 12k for a japanese car??

I suppose the 700bhp gtr could be seen as continuing the tradition as the now old gtr models had a people tuning them up to 1000bhp. Crazy nutters that they were.

I can see where you are heading with that, but the new GTR was purposefully made "untunable" while the old GTR's appeal was the ease of tune-ability.

untrue, the gtr was made to be tuned. They even said so themselves. Im guessing they dont want them to tuned that easily just yet for some reason. But who cares. We all know the flood gates will be opened and we'll have some crazy people with 1200hp gtrs without launch control of course

I got a 4th gen camaro and i HATE the plastic junk interior that came in it, but i lover the car itself. GM def makes the worst interiors in the past 30 years. Thats why i'm making a custom interior.

I could not agree more with Matt and his guest about the junk plastic interior being whats killing the American car industry.

I have been driving Volvo v70 wagons since the mid 1990s, on my third one, and i could not bring myself to go back to owning what i see on the American car dealer floors.

My lease is up in Mar 09 and i am not even considering a GM or Ford as my next car.

(yes i know Ford owns Volvo, but Ford does not build them or do the service work).
