Last words on this subject: I have met many well known guitarists who laugh at my collection( I am just a super keen amateur) and warn me that it is not good to change necks all the time. One thing is for sure there is no perfect guitar! Each one brings a little piece of heaven. After playing my PRS's and my SMY2 the ergonomics are so perfect that my VOS Les Paul feels like a broom handle but wow what a sound it has. Maybe promiscuity warnings should extend to guitars:)
all is said and done often my impulsive buying reflects subjective more than objective factors as my latest acquisition a Music Man Steve Morse..I saw Deep Purple in concert and just 'had' to get one...it is great but did I really I need it? Do I play better because of all theses instruments? This is debatable..but each time I think I will...when I get the fever like for a wine red LP custom I am getting next week I loose all self control maybe we should create a 12 step program ha ha ha!!!!
Dear fellow GAS addict (guitar acquisition syndrome) phallystorm I have owned over 50 guitars and am constantly in quest of the ultimate sound so I can really relate to what you say. Some of the things I have noticed is that successful professionals tend to stick to one main instrument like say a Strat and may have two or three all with the same neck profile. I own PRS, Music Men, Vos Les Pauls, relic Strats and even a handmade Nik Huber (German luthier). Most are great guitars but after ...
It's funny. I am a confused Man over here. I have been playing for over 28 years, and I am constantly going back, and forth Fender StratsGibson/Les Pauls/Fender Teles with HumbuckersJacksons/Melancons, Tom Andies,, Carvins,PRS Custom 22/24s, you name it. When will it end? I am currently in the Strat/Tele realm, but a guy on Craigslist NY is selling a 2001 Wine Red Gibson Custom like this for $1,700.00 A bit more used, and worn, but still in Excellent cond. I will probably still be confused.
I really don't think so. I bought it from a music store in the U.S. Sad as it is, even the Gibsons have minor flaws at the inlays or on the paint job...
@tokojojiji yea i was kinna thinkin it looked to chines made, the knobs is what gets me they look cheap, and at :43 the wood looks cheap, but idk maybe its all in my imagination the rest of the guitar looks nice,if its real it an amasing guitar
@TheDorkaholic505 lol, how expensive can plastic knobs look? Where do you think Gibson USA gets their knobs and stuff? lol. Gibson makes guitars in the US from almost all imported woods & materials from other countries.
Yes, Optima Gold Strings. I think it looks nice with gold hardware...
