Steel framed buildings NEVER collapse from local impacts, and/or fire damage. Perhaps some local damage from the planes' impacts, at the WORST could have caused portions of the building above the impact point to fail, but even that didn't happen. After the impacts, the internal structure of both buildings readjusted for the altered stress, as they were designed to. The jet fuel burned off within a few minutes and the low temperature fires were virtually out by the time each building collapsed.

It is an example of what engineers were getting away from with the design of the WTC. The 767 was 15 X heavier. Traveling about 3x faster. The mass of 350,000 pounds and its velocity are what matter. And if you bother to really examine this you will see that the steel is actually intact. It has come apart at its connection points. The bolts holding it to the next column are what broke.

Steel framed buildings NEVER collapse from local impacts, and/or fire damage. Perhaps some local damage from the planes' impacts, at the WORST could have caused portions of the building above the impact point to fail, but even that didn't happen. After the impacts, the internal structure of both buildings readjusted for the altered stress, as they were designed to. The jet fuel burned off within a few minutes and the low temperature fires were virtually out by the time each building collapsed.

It is an example of what engineers were getting away from with the design of the WTC. The 767 was 15 X heavier. Traveling about 3x faster. Double the weight or speed and the impact force is 4x as much.

The mass of 350,000 pounds and its velocity are what matter. And if you bother to really examine this you will see that the steel is actually intact. It has come apart at its connection points. The bolts holding it to the next column are what broke.
A video on YT shows this very well with close up photos.

I think we all forgot an evidence given by US Army: In Bagdad , when US Army fired cruise missiles in TV building ; it havoc the floor where it had been located . But the building didn't collapse ! If a cruise missile with 500 kg of the highest explosive running at 900 km/h , didn't collapse a singl building, how a singl umpty plane without explosives , could have void the best earthquake proof building ever made at WTC? Thank to US Army for this evidence .
