You are quite right. Reverbi often borders on filmmusic. Ever since he started to add synthesizers to his baroque strings (in 1983), there's always at least one driven, dramatic 'car chase' theme like this one on his albums. For that reason I find his records with Vivaldi, Mozart and Beethoven interpretations a lot less exciting. Rondo Veneziano is at its very best when it goes hybrid.
