I know the vid says Nikon Monarch but I just wanted to double check and ask if this is just the Monarch and not the Monarch gold? I'm in live with this scope and wanting to get this exact one..
You've got to admire the Nikon scopes, thats a sweet picture even through the camera. First time I've seen the BDC in the field, only seen it the length of the local gun shop.
Some people are saying it expensive at $500+, but hey guys if I've got a rifle that will hit a bean at 300 yds I'm not putting a $100 scope on it. You pay for what you get, you owe it to the game to put your shot on target without fail.
That scope is almost $500...damn. Out of my league. I have a Millett TRS-1 on my Remington 700 VTR .308. Good scope, but not as bright as the NIkon. Gets the job done though.
I practice my shooting for target sport and defense not to kill animals. I do not disrespect people who hunt for food but theses guys wanting you to pull the trigger to see an animal die are a little disgusting to me.
Bare handed, grapple choke kill. That's all that counts. Or a thrown rock. At least meet me half way and use a Rambo knife on a stick.
Technology is for wimps (as I type from iPod and wifi). JK. Not a troll. Today on the History channel they featured wild hog tagging in TX. The countryside looked great and included a blanket of fresh snow. Cool and clear conditions for hunting. Btw, what Glock, if any, did you pack for this as a bug?
That is one bright scope. The Trijicon tactical scopes that run two grand have that type of brightness and clarity. Great footage, is it legal to take does in your state?
In California it must be buck only forked horn or better. Tags go on sale soon, I usually purchase mine on Cinco De Mayo. I guess that holiday is good for something after all lol.
What magnification was that ?

Great scope!!
I am planning buy Nikon Monarch too, but haven't decide the power of it.
I am thinking about 2.5-10X50 or 3-12X42.
How about yours? Any suggestion? I am looking for most versatile scope for big game hunting.
Thanks in advance.
